Does any one know of any legitimate work from home opportunities to suppliment my income? -

I have a full time job that I love (preschool teacher) but that doesn t pay very well, and I would like to supliment my income... I actually have been burned once already by trying a work at home scheme that ended up costing me thousands and making me no money. I was wondering if anyone knew of any legitimate work at home businesses -- ie: data entry, etc that could earn me some extra cash. I m not looking to make thousands a month, just some extra wiggle room in the budget. Thanks.

I know someone that just hired about 10 people to write articles of some sort. Apparently there s plenty of demand for writers. It seems like almost your field.

Actually almost all the work at home programs you see out there are legit, very few are actually scams. The only problem is with these work at home programs is that it is very hard to make any money unless you have the right training for it. I have been working from home for 2 years now and I have mastered it. If you are looking to start your own home business and make some money working from home I can help you step by step which is what you will need. I will get you in my business absolutely free and get you your own website which you can promote. I will teach you marketing skills you will need and walk you through everything in order to make money online. I only work with 5 people at a time. You can signup to work with me at http://www.trker.com/go/52362. I guarantee that I will help you make money in your first week working with me.

This should get you heading in the right direction. www.forthegoodofman.com it is exploring the legit work from home arena.-you may have to scroll down to the section where it talks about the legit work from home companies. :) enjoyit explores some ways to increase your income from home.you can check a few of them out there anyhow.

You can freelance write online, be a text guide, data entry[real, not that scammy stuff], website tester, call center virtual agent, transcription, etc. There are many real jobs u can work from home, and even part time since u already have another job.I found out about all of these from work at home forums like workplacelikehome.com. Also in the sources area is a link for a blog that posts work at home job leads everyday. Real ones that u can apply to like any other job.

I don t want to get flagged SOOOO, here is my website and you can look at it if you wish. I work part time (young kids at home) and make approx $600-$800 a month. If you want specific information, go to the contact me portion of the website and I will email you personally. I have been with this company for over 2 years, VERY legit and VERY well known. There are links about how the business works directly on the website. Hope this helpshttp://www.hostpassions.com

I have heard of a few people doing medical transcription from home. The only thing to that is that you have to take training which will cost you some time and money. If you want to look more into it, you can view a demo of an online training course and get more info on the career here http://www.careerstep.com/wah/?uid=a1403

Look at this site http://shelling.web.officelive.com

I have been trying to find a way to make extra income for myself working from home and for quite some time I only came across sites that claimed to offer very profitable home jobs. Everytime I decided to subscribe to any of them and after doing a little research on the internet, it turned out that most of them were scams or ways to make just a little money while risking losing a lot. After days of searching and getting nowhere, I came across someone s review on making money from home that mentioned a site called Wealthy Affiliate . This site is like a university on Internet Marketing, but apart from that, it recommends legit sites offering jobs from home. Of course, I first did a research on Wealthy Affiliate, too (since they require a monthly/yearly membership), before becoming a member. Every review I read was positive and said they were really satisfied. In general, what they do is give you all the guidance, tools and information you need so as to become a successful Internet Marketer, starting from scratch. If you are not interested on Internet Marketing, they recommend sites that offer a variety of jobs from home (i.e. data entry, article writing, web design, translations etc). All of them are serious sites, well organized and trustworthy. So I became a Wealthy Affiliate member myself, but I m just starting to learn the moves...The membership costs around $39 a month and you can cancel it anytime you want. If you pay a one-year fee, you have a discount (I believe it goes down to $29 per month)Anyway, take a look for yourself here: http://www.wealthyaffiliate.com?a_aid=KOexgg7znd good luck!

Simply the fact that you said just a little extra money on the side. You can simply do ebay, but then again the fees are insane now. I mean you don t have to have the product, you can sell someones product and get a commission. You can try looking up for drop-shipping. You can sign up with click bank or commission junction and sell affiliate products, whether they be physical product or online products. I know many people have quit there job because of this. You can do survey, simply look up free survey on google and you will have plentyto sign up for. They should ALL be free to sign up for. You can make say $1 - 3 on average survey and sometimes even more depending on what type of survey you get. I did it the past, but have move on to better things. You can definately look for freelance job, where you do a task for someone and get paid. There are just way to many legitimate work at home opportunities out there to name it all. I myself have elimited most of the scams out there and started my own home based business. I too am a technician working full time and that definatley pays less than being a teacher and doing this business on the side. Maybe you like to get involve Simply come by and see if this can suppliment your income.

You can only obtain legitimate work from home positions from brick and mortar companies. You want to send your resume out to companies hiring for positions you are qualified for, but include in your resume that you have a home office and you wish to work remotely. Include how you have your home office set up and what equipment you already have in order for you to perform your job. These jobs are just going to advertised as jobs, they would not promote them as work at home because they would hear from too many unqualified people.

FOR ALL THOSE WITH ASTHMA.....please help I need ideas!? -

I have just joined a group where we get 4000 to start up a business idea. Mine is a really good looking inhaler cover where you buy one (or however many you want!) which has an awesome pattern on it and just get the cylinder refills after. It will be much better for the environment as we would all use a lot less plastic and the cover could even be made form recycled plastic itself. As an asthma sufferer myself, I am fed up of the boring square, blue or brown inhalers. I think I might base it on Puffins or something as I call it a puffer. lol. Could you give me any ideas for what the cover could look like or a business name???

i really do not care how it looks as long as i can breath.pretty puffers.happy inhalersbeautiful breathing...?

Well i do. Report Abuse

That s honestly a great idea. How cute! :) Pretty Puffers Little Puffins You could do things for young boys like soccer balls, football, etc. For girls and teens you could do polka dots, bright colors, c s to replicate Coach, initals. :)

holly s inhalers, take a puff and get the stuff

If I own 2 businesses, with one making $5,000 profit? -

and the other loses $4,000, then do I owe the IRS 15% self-employment taxes on the $5,000 profit, or just on $1,000 combined profit?

we own 7 different factories under 3 different company names.. all which are indepenant of each other even though we share one large office for all 3 as a headquarters .. we used to be able to right the loss from one off against another several years ago but now the laws have been changed and all the companies have to be seperate enties .. we cannot even transfer money from one to the other to help out in rough times .. any company trying to do this any more is asking for trouble with the irs ..keep them seperate

Good Fund raiser ideas for a new club? -

I m in my college s new Eco club..And we haven t done too well in our last couple of fund raising attempts.. We are trying to be successful while staying GREEN, and its backfired on us.At our last event, we sold beans, yea I know, and we barely sold 3 cups of beans =/Maybe were going about it the wrong way, but I m looking to try anything that can help this club survive!Maybe make an Organic Bake sale? Chemical Free Car Wash? Anything!? I really want to fund affordable trips, inform people about the environment, and plan events, but we can t if we don t have or earn enough cash...What are some good Fund Raising Ideas?Thank you!

Maybe you could sell seedlings in milk carton halves. Just buy an entire packet of seeds...sunflower, native plant, which ever, and then sell them once they start to sprout.

Client got away without paying us. It cheeses me off.? -

My husband did a $2500 job for a client who them went under. The thing is the parent company is still going strong and has a flashy website etc. It really upsets me. It is all with the company receivers now etc, but the chance of us getting anything is zero. Some other poor sole lost $20,000. What would you do apart from warn others about them? They are in another state.

Don t feel bad this world feels like everybody is out for their own. I had a company I put 2.6 years into building they owed me 8k likely 30k to date. We just move on we live and learn.

If you let it cheese you off too much, you re in the wrong line of work.I have a $6,500 debt to me that is more than 450 days old.I have an $8,000 debt to me that is 375 days old.

You could always try and submit your invoice to the parent company or one of it s subsidiaries Depending on how big they are they, they may have poor controls around approving invoices.

You could always sue them, but it s business, sometimes it happens.

Macys in NYC easy question? -

I m currently twenty years old with one year of retail experience. My last job was working at Calvin Klein. Now I plan on applying to Macy s in New York City. I send my application in and got dined. What exactly is Macy s looking for? I have the personality and looks to perform as a sale associate and experience. I am serious about getting this position. I need it. What can I do next time when I send in my application for the 2nd attempted?(Male)

Having worked in NYC myself for 10 years, and having come in from out of state...what I learned was that NY companies would prefer to hire people with New York experience. You may think to yourself...that is pretty arrogant of them....Let me set the record straight.....They are completely justified in that requisite...the reason is that many people go to NY and try to make it and they just don t have what it takes.NYC is a whole different level of playing field....You have to be top notch or you won t make it. If you are lucky enough to get in somewhere...you will either adapt quickly or you ll fail and probably have to move away. it is a tough city...but if you make it....the education you ll get being in that environment will give you a trmendous advantage if you ever move back to your hometown. Its just like that NY song says If I can make it here, I can make it anywhere ...that is absolutely dead on.Keep trying and good luck.

i send in my app and got DINED. What is dined? They took you to eat?or do you mean denied?to get hired, you need to have excellent English skills.and do not send anything in, visit them.......ask to talk to the HR depart andask what days of the week they interview.

How do people on ebay get thier cell phone ect. products to sell so cheap? -

I go on ebay and buy cell phone chargers and such and I just want to know where they get the stuff at and be able to sell it so cheap? Do they buy like thousands of dollars worth and make profit or how does this happen. I see that people from Hong Kong sell alot of things like this.

either buy in extremely large bulk or stolen goods - either way it makes it very difficult for the average person to make a buck

How to classify this worker? employee? Independent contractor etc..? -

We are in a dentistry business. We are planning to hire this person, a sort of billing agent or an specialist that calls and make appeal letters to insurances so we get paid pending completion of the requirements that insurance is requesting. She offered to come once a week for 4 hours to complete the job needed. She works independently but uses our computer to write the letters and emails and also uses the telephone to communicate to insurance companies. How should we classify this worker? An employee? An Independent contractor? What?Thank you for your help.

The employee is coming in to your office and using your computer and telephone. Since they re in your office, I presume it could be argued that they re being supervised by one of your staff. I d say that the person is an employee.Edit: It seems as though some of the answerers are confused. See the IRS link below with these two items: 5. If you have the right to control or direct not only what is to be done, but also how it is to be done, then your workers are most likely employees.6. If you can direct or control only the result of the work done -- and not the means and methods of accomplishing the result -- then your workers are probably independent contractors.

I would classify her as an independent contractor. As long as you don t dictate to her what hours she has to work. It s completely ok, that you agree together what hours she works. Also, she doesn t HAVE to use your computer telephone. She does this so she is not responsible for controlling the files out of the office.

Independent contractor. You just pay her and not withhold any taxes, and give her a Form 1099 at the end of the year. She is responsible for all taxes, self-employment tax, etc.

She could be either. I would check into which would be more beneficial to the business with taxes and liability.

Overhead cost - Accounting? -

Feeman Company uses a predetermined overhead rate based on direct labor-hours to apply manufacturing overhead to jobs. At the beginning of the year, the company estimated manufacturing overhead would be $150,000 and direct labor hours would be 10,000. The actual figures fo the year were $186,000 for manufacturing overhead and 12,000 direct labor hours. The cost records for the year will show:????I know the answer is Underapplied overhead of $6,000. I have no idea how they reach this answer. Can anyone help?

Use the actual figures.......they are the ones that count. $ 186,000You add up the gross sales.(186,000)Then you subtract the costs. ( Labor Material, etc.)( 12,000 for labor and 6,000 for rent, electricity bill, etc.)Thus, the costs you are going to subtract is 12, 000 + 6,000=18,000(Gross) (Cost)180, 000 - 18,000 is 90% profit. 180,000 - 18,000 = 162, 000 162, 000 is the profit....and 162,000 is 90% of the gross of 180,000 Underapplied means the same thing as not applied ..not applied are the 6,000 in other costs...in other words..they give the labor as: 12,000...the costs that are missing (underapplied) is 6,000.Learn that words like underapplied means the items that are not given...its like me using words, that only someone that took that class would know.SUMMARYThe cost records bottom line is they made 90% profit or $162,000.
