Depends what sort of Retail but basically store making a profit, (last year verses this year usually), keeping an eye on what products make the most profit, add ons (depending on the industry) shrinkage (staff and customers nicking) Hiring and firing, health and safety issues, staff rotas, staff moral (important for keeping your staff) and lots of creeping up to the Area Manager (shall I lick your boots now or later?) No seriously, I have been a Retail manager in the past and my husband has just got out of this industry after 15 years as a Store retail Manager of a major company. Its tough out there at the moment and one of the worst jobs to go into, major stress. You have to be hard as nails!!! good luck if you are considering it!

There are many aspects of being a Store Manager 1) Verify stock and shipments and invoices,2) Deal with local advertising - Manage Employees.3) Handle customer relations. That is just a outline of the various duties that a retail store manager will be involved with.

Manage the store...basically, your the one that runs the store. Your job is to making sure everything is running smoothly and everyone is doing there job. You will also be doing paper work, dealing with Distrist Managers and such.

Should I be an international mail distributor ? -

I found a mail distribution clerk position via craiglist which pays $75/wk. I recently live in the US, and my boss live in the UK. He sent me a package with 27 money orders which will be sent to 27 people in the US. He also sent me the money via Western Union to pay for the priority stamps. Should I send out the money orders? How can I figure out that this involves any fraud?

Take the MO s to your bank, see if they are legitimate. I am guessing you are distributing forged checks, which is a felony. You may end up spending years in prison for a couple of bucks. It makes no sense that he would not mail the checks directly, obviously he want his fraud to be traced elsewhere.

Very likely a scam.If he wants you to send some money back to him, it is most certainly a scam.Go to a bank and have the money orders checked out carefully. They are probably forgeries.Or contact the people to whom you are sending the MO to - ask them what they are expecting and see if they are aware of it.
