How can i start my dog walking business? -

any tips ?

To be top notch and respected I would check out getting certified. there is a course out of California (go on-line, dog walking training). It is an investment but there is a lot to be learned, which you will have forever. It is an interesting field and has amazing opportunity in this field..

Seriously? The first thing you should consider is business insurance. It isn t as simple as just getting customers and walking their dogs. You have to be prepared for emergencies and potential accidents. You will be liable for anything that happens while the dog is in your care. If it is lost, bites someone, or is injured - you will be financially responsible. If, for example, a dog gets loose and is hit by a car, you will be liable for the dog, the car and the driver, if injured.Along with insurance, you should be certified in first aid for pets. You ll need to know exactly what to do in the event of an emergency. If you are fully prepared, you stand a much better chance of getting clients.

in line with susi q you need to know how many dogs, what types you can handlewhat type of client are you looking forhave a route and the distance each dog will be walkedwhat have you got for emergencies and what the owner must supplyare you walking a dog at a time or a number of dogs at onceyou will need a calender and roster and quote sheeta contact number the clients details and their vets if something goes wrongdoor to door face to face canvasing to sell yourself to the dog ownera trail with each dog to see that you can handle them, so there is avoidance where possible for getting a nickname of road kill walkera rate sheet for distance amount of times the dog is exercised and the size of the dog and payment terms plus also check to see that the clients insurance covers the dog while being exercised or if it can be added to their insurancehaving a professional stationary kit, contract and doing all the ugly questions up front will give a client more confidence in your ability then just a flier or internet addYou should also attend dog shows and training areas in your area to see if their are people who require your services

Start putting up flyers at pet stores and vets to get some clients for starters.Maybe call a vet and ask them how to go about it.Im sure i wouldnt hire you unless i knew you wouldnt be leaving with my dog.Im not sure how to verify yourself unless you have some credible referneces such as a vet for example.Someone that is credible.Hope this helps.Wish you luck =)

The best way in my opinion is to start putting up flyers and maybe put a few adds up on craigslist. You could also make a website and advertise it in your local store bulleten boards.Good luck, hope this helps

Print flyers and leave them inside mailboxes in your area also leave them at pet stores and vet clinics. Word of mouth is great too tell everyone.

Question for anyone who owns or works in a restaurant or hot food outlet? -

How do you get your ingredients? Does a supplier deliver or do you collect from the market? Also on average how often do you stock up on ingredients each week?

I know a couple of restaurant owners. One of them, who owns a Mexican restaurant, gets some supplies delivered and she goes out early every morning to select other ingredients. Since her restaurant is open 6 days a week, that means that she shops 6 days a week. I also happen to know that she buys some of her equipment at a thrift store. And yes, I eat at her place regularly. One guy owns a sandwich shop franchise. One of the terms of his franchise contract is that he has to buy EVERYTHING from the corporation. Everything. The reason for this is for the corporation to make money, of course, but it s also so that a customer will know what he s getting when he buys a sandwich from any store in this franchise. I don t know how often his stuff gets delivered.Different restaurants, and different types of restaurants, are going to differ in the answers.

They have suppliers like Sisco or PFG. They buy what they need to get through the week or until next delivery day plus a little more in case. Inventory is done so you see what you need or don t need for next order.

Questions About Starting An Online Business? -

Good Afternoon! I am a little scatter brained right now so please forgive me if this makes no sense! I live in North Carolina and i am wanting to start selling my home made candles. I thought i would start out slow and make a web page online where customers could order my candles and also do some craft festivals. But i have no idea where to start with all the legal issues such as taxes and if i will need a business license. I am pretty sure i will need an NC tax id but other than that i am clueless. If anyone has any suggestions or advice please answer!

I would say do all the research you can. Don t try to re-invent the wheel as they say. There are people out there doing it successfully. Try to copy their ideas (not to the point of infringing on their ideas or designs). There are a few ebooks out there on starting and running various craft related business on the website www.craftingcash.com See if any of those would help.
