What are the advantages and disadvantages of owning a franchise rather than starting a new small business? -

Starting up a new mom and pop type business is statistically very risky. Numerous studies have been conducted on this subject, and the general consensus indicates that 90-95% of new independents fail within two or three years. The steep learning curve that is involved can be a killer all by itself. The few who do succeed in this business model typically have an extremely high level of expertise in their product or service. They ve lived it all their lives. When it comes to franchising, however, much of the risk is reduced, or even eliminated. Although there are no guarantees, this business model is as close as you ll come to a guarantee of success. The same studies show that new franchise business startups rarely fail. The reason for this, quite simply, is because the often very long exercise of trial and error has already been done so many times that it s reached the inevitable point of trying and succeeding. The franchiser has made it through the learning curve and, along the way, has developed the success secrets for that business. Those who fail in franchising almost always were not committed to following the franchiser s systems. The main reason you buy a franchise is to minimize risk and to set yourself up for success. Traditionally, in a new startup, independent business, you are almost always operating from a shoot from the hip mentality, which can lead to failure. There is no past experience to draw upon, and it becomes challenging to control all aspects of the business. With a good, successful franchise model, you open yourself up to a deluge of information regarding all aspects of information, including financial assistance, site selection, and a wealth of knowledge from existing franchisees. Also, rapid growth is inevitable with the franchise model, which is only a good thing for a franchisee for many reasons, such as increased name/brand recognition and exposure to national advertising campaigns, which increase sales. Tremendous buying power because of constant expansion is also a major plus. Of course, the key is to follow the proven system of success, so your creativity can be somewhat lessened. In addition, you will have to pay a franchise fee and an ongoing royality, and your individual ability to make changes to the franchise is reduced dramatically. To summarize, franchising greatly reduces risk, enables you to follow a proven, successful system, and increases your chances of success in business exponentially.

advatage of a franchise is it s a brand name thats recognized and your making money instantly starting a new small biz has all disadavantages and higher cost and failure rates !

Business card name help ? pleaseee helppppppppppppppppppp!!!!!!!? -

so im a dancer who gets book by different places. and i wanna make a bussiness card so i can have more custumers and for them to take me more serious so my quiestion is how can i describe my self as if i do performances and private classes?i was thinking.Private Classes and Performances ? it doesnt sound prefesional can you please help.i do hip hop btw

Have a professional graphic designer/printing place set it up. I recommend Reduced Printing (www.reducedprinting.com)

So what *do* you do? Are you primarily a performer, or primarily a teacher? Or are you trying to be both? Why not make TWO cards for different sides of your business? One says hip hop dance performer , and the other one says hip hop dance instructor , then hand out the appropriate one, since the two sides of the business don t really mix? Color photo of you dancing would be good, but hire a pro photographer for that, unless you have some really good amateur friends who can do it.

Do you have a name for your business? Have one, even if you are the only one in it as of now. Embark yourself as Professional Dancer. As a teacher of Hip Hop. Perhaps host of website with pictures from functions / performances you attended and have that link in your B card. When your profession has a business name and a website, many people will look at you with respect.

Is there a way that I order the production of some Designs that I made to be produced in china with out going? -

I have some Designs for chains , keychains , stuff like this .. I want them to be made in china then sent to me.. with good price and trusted .. with out going to china.. not very large amount ..

Rather find a local supplierYou need to have a reputable agent who can check the quality and ensure the right goods are shipped and who can have the paperwork seen toFor ever good company there are many who will just ignore your order or replace it with other merchandiseThe other problem is language and Chinese manufacturers are very literal and what you think should be done is an entirely different view point which can result in costly mistakes

Hi Princess,The simple answer to this question, and any like it as you plan for opening your business, is choose based entirely on what results you want from your investment. Of course, making choices means you need some kind of barometer to weigh your options. Aha, your Business Plan!Planning is key. In order to plan effectively, you must conduct some research. What do you need to provide your services? Who will you provide them to? Who are you competing against? What makes you better; gives you an edge ? How are you going to reach your prospects/potential clients? Answering these kinds of questions gives you a basis to begin a business plan. You can download my free research outline at www.abusinessmentor.comIt should certainly guide you in the right direction.Good Luck!

What ways can someone protect themselves from losing money when they have cancellations? -

I am new at doing this kind of work someone else told me she had a cancellation lost money didn t know how to make up for it....I had a cancellation this past week also just underearned. What do people do when they have a client who cancells they lose the money they counted on. I am not looking for ways to get that person to pay but asking if you just over schedule so you make enough money or just charge more to all clients or what ways you have come up with to make up for these days when you end up not working. What do you do with your time on those days. The person that asked me about it does some kind of work where she goes out to the clients home to work. My husband I do handyman work I do organizing of offices homes. So any ideas you can share are greatly appreciated.

Over scheduling would have to be done very judiciously, you could also figure out how much you lose due to cancellations and increase your fees, but only if you don t lose clients as a result. Charging for missed appointments would antagonize people. You can also while you have dead time do some planning, preparation, especially when organizing offices, if you had the lay outs in advance. Good Luck

You should have right information if you want to make money with work at home . You can tried program that I use to create good income every months. It works just amazing and It will work for you too. You can get more information from link below.

Charge a non-refundable deposit when you book the work. If they cancel, you keep $25-$50 as a cancel fee.

Ask for a minimum down payment called Save the date . They have to Save the date on your schedule so noone else gets it. Make a notation in small print that IF THE CLIENT CANCELS A SMALL FEE WILL BE DEDUCTED . To determine what that fee will be you add gas, and lunch. $20 gas, $20 lunch, $10 misc. $50. ( or more thats up to you but it should be minimum $50) You will have gas in your car for the next client and lunch for yourself. Or take the lunch money and add it to the tank for the next two clients. This was you never lose. When they sign the contract -- you better have one of those ALWAYS it also says in red and bold that THE TIME AND DAY ISNT GUARENTEED because of the volume of service. A minimal SAVE THE DATE fee will secure time and date.(Just like people do for their wedding date at the caterers)Please Note:I have cancelled on people that didnt SAVE THE DATE to make a point. Then after they become a client and are satisfied they will pass that SAVE THE DATE information onto the referral and make sure to let them know how important that it and how small of a fee you charge for it. Always works. When they say tuesdays are not good what day you think I call them and tell them is the next available day? Tuesdays ofcourse. The next available day is the following Tuesday or Friday after. They wont wait, pay the $50, and you have a new client that you must satisfy for the word of mouth advertising of that SAVE THE DATE fee you charge =) Make sense? Do what the big companies do lol

How long does it usually take to get an order from itechnomart.com? -

From my experience around 5 days. You should contact them to get an exact answer.

I think this place is a scam. The New Zealand and LA Adresses I find for them do not exist on google maps. All the comments I ve found about them are made by new users within the last week. Report Abuse

What is the second best domain name suffix if the .com domain name I want is taken? -

I live in Canada and the name is going to be for commercial purposes. My preference is .com since it is the most globally recognized suffix. But all the .com names I like are all taken.1) What is the second most popular domain name suffix globally ?2) I could try and get .ca (Ca for Canada). Should I try to find another suitable .com name or should I get the .ca?

The most popular extensions globally are1 .com2 .cn (China)3 .de (Germany)4 .net5 .orgWhile .ca is quite a way down the list it is a very popular extension for Canadian sites. If your site s target market is Canadian then .ca is probably the best extension for your site. If you will be marketing world wide then you should be looking for a short meaningful .com but you should also get the same name with the .ca and point both names to the site.
