What documents i needed for getting an import lisence in india through cochin port? -

Visit the nearest Office of Controller of Import Exports and help desk counter will assist YOu.The best course of action would be to contact a Clearing Agent at Cochin PORT and he will assist you to finalise your requirements. DO you have a PAN and IC code. These are essentials.

I.E.C. is the basic document for import export for Indian companies. Apart from this, based on import product, license may be required. Therefore, if you could give product name, you would know whether import license is required or not.You have to approach local office of Director General of Foreign Trade (Cochin / Trivandrum) and submit application. Basic documents required are: PAN Bank certification (where your company has an account). Link for application format and instructions for filing given below:http://dgftcom.nic.in/exim/2000/appendichttp://dgftcom.nic.in/exim/2000/AN/Sub%2Controller of Imports Exports has been re-christened as Director General of Foreign Trade. Yes, some Customs House Agents (CHA) do know the procedure to get IEC. It is a good idea to explain what you want to import and take their suggestions.

Laws about credit card limits at stores? -

So at my work we have a rule that you have to purchase at least $10 worth of stuff before you can use your credit card. Well lately we have had a lot of people come in and tell us that it is illegal to do that. And that we have to except a credit card for any amount of money. So i was wondering if anyone knew of a law that states this.Or if it really is a law.If it helps i live in Michigan. It would be really appreciative if someone also had a website that states this so i can print it off to show my work. Thanks!

I am not sure if it is a law but the rules of carriage for the ability to accept a credit card, state you can not do this--that you are required to accept a card for any amount of purchase, if you accept the card at all. Contact your business manager at your credit card servicer for the exact details; but you can be reported to the card (ie VISA) and they can pull your right to accept that card as payment.

I don t believe that the business is violating any law if it is accepting credit cards only above $10. In fact, some businesses ask for a photo ID above a certain amount, and one might question the legality of this too. I think a business has the right to set its policy in this matter. In any case, unless you are the owner, you should approach your supervisor about this issue.

What are the alternatives to shredding papers ? -

I have many documents to get rid of, i need the space, there is too much to shred, will dunking them in bleach work ?

You can make briquettes out of them. In the UK they sell a press for them. I involves soaking in water and adding something, then slopping the mixture in to the press. You can heat your house with the recycled wills/marriage licences/love letters/credit card statements etc.. It ll make you feel warm all over.

If you have a garden you could buy a dustbin size incinerator that doesn t cost too much. The ash can then be spread on the garden, especially where you don t want snails to eat plants.Don t try to burn the paper flat, but get each piece and screw it up. Then it will burn much easier and faster, so it won t take long to get rid off. Of course screwed up and not flat, it will take up more room, so you will not be able to put quite so much in, but you can always add more as it burns down. Have a bucket of water ready, check out the wind direction, and make sure you are not standing where the smoke will drift and most important - make sure non of your neighbours have washing out and you do it during the time allowed we have to do it evenings or weekend.I have had to do this a couple of times, but do try to shred as much as possible.

buy an argus incinerator the square one with big holes in it, as they are very efficient, shred enough paper to fill 4 or 5 carrier bags, (not cross chopped) use this as a base to get a good fire going, put some old wood on and when you have a hot base of burning wood, you can burn the rest of your documents with ease, it works better if there is a wind.

Burning should do it - although you may not be able to have a bonfire in/on your property. And you d have to cover the bin to stop burnt paper from blowing everywhere. You can hire companies who will come out to your house to do a big shredding job (UK).

Hi if you have a metal bucket you could burn them ,remembering to burn only a few at a time and keep some water near by in case of a flare up.

I need to find a job were i can work from home? -

so the deal is i just gave birth to my daughter 3 weeks ago but i want to stay home and take care of her but i need to make a little bit of an income so working from home is a great way. i just need help finding a job that does that. does anyone know?

You need to send your resume out to real jobs you are qualified to do. In your cover letter you need to state that you wish to work remotely, from your home office. LOTS of companies, especially in CA operate this way. They usually provide transportation for you to come in for an interview and for you to attend company meetings a few times a year, but otherwise everything is done online.

Congratulations on the little one.197 weeks ago my daughter was born, and I instantly started looking for work from home because I knew my wife would return to work and I would be here. About six months ago I started working with a company that is very impressive- almost a billion dollars in sales last year, 24 yrs in business, green products, free training, and free support. Its hard to find something like that, the way I did it was search engine- work from home then start searching the company names with the word scam in the search engine. Thousands (maybe high hundreds) of names later I had I think three names- I checked the BBB and found that one had awards. It- honestly, was a pain the behind.I would love to share that with everyone, and if you want to have that please contact me and I will forward you the information, if not that too is okay. Best of luck with your little one, I know mine has changed my whole world, Guard5a

Builder is asking for payment without starting work? -

We were going to use a builder for some work, however he has messed us around - not had good communications and now I have mentioned that we may not go ahead with him and he is saying he has bought materials for this job and indicated that we will have to pay. Legally do we have to pay? We ve got nothing in writing from him and he has verbally broken his agreement as he was meant to start the job on Thursday. Any advise would be appreciated.

just wondered if you watched Watchdog the other nightA similar story came up where a driveway was being done without the customers final agreement, as she d not agreed anything in writing and had said no to it going aheadIn the end they didn t pay a thing as there was no written contractPersonally this outfit sounds like a scam, as no decent business would ask for money for materials, as they would always have cash flow for thisPlease get rid of them because they sound like something out of Rogue Traders on BBC 1.

The situation is unclear. If you agreed his estimate and asked him to start, a contract is in effect. Call his bluff by asking him to provide you with copy invoices for the materials that were to be used on your job. If he can t, or won t, give you these items, tell him to go away. If he can you will have to consider your position a little more carefully. You either proceed with the job or pay him for the materials he has bought once he has passed them into your possession. Not before!

Even though you have nothing in writing (that s a big mistake on your part) there is a verbal agreement which is binding in law. You should have made an agreement on what was to be done and how it should be paid. We paid 25% of our new kitchen up front to allow the fitter to buy what was required, then 50% when the job was finished and the remainder when the last bits and pieces had been done and dusted. I would suggest you have a meeting where you both agree on terms that suit you both. He is entitled to some money up front as he will have things to buy and maybe even other workers he has to hire in. Do not pay him the full amount of the job before it is finished. If you need more advice speak to Citizens Advice as they will be able to advise on all the legal aspects of the work.

I can tell you the answer in English Law.The absence of a written contract makes no difference one way or the other. A verbal agreement is equally binding - so, what have you agreed exactly?Usually the failure to do something on time will not entitle either party to avoid or vary the contract unless it was agreed beforehand that time is of the essence .Builders are not entitled to payment until the job is finished unless you have agreed differently.

If an agreement was not signed, and he broke a verbal agreement then you do not have to go ahead. You do not have to pay for anything. Full Stop. Untill the job is completed. If he threatens you with all the Bulls**t, tell him you will have him for harassment.Don t stand for it. Go elsewhere.

no never, because nowadays it is difficult to trust someone, even now you are still thinking to trust me or not. at first tell him to show what he has done(I mean your job) and they pay him. usually polish or eastern eu people ask before they start.trust me many people had kind of situations.

A verbal agreement isn t worth the paper it s written on Ignore him and find a new contractor and get everything in writing, along with finish by dates. He may threaten you with legal action, so be sure there is nothing in writing he can use against you

legally you do not have to pay him, unless you signed a contract saying that you would pay him. then you have to pay

I would say definitely not. If you had nothing in writing he does not have a leg to stand on....If any problems take advice from your Office of Fair Trading.

I wouldn t pay him a dime. If he s this bad now he ll ignore you totally when he gets your money.

say no
