When you try browsing on the internet, you will see that there are a lot of jobs available even for minors and for working student. One popular job that you can apply for regardless of your age is the freelance writing job, a part time or sometimes full time depends on the employer, where they ask you to write articles or blogs regarding different topics. You just need to have a creative mind and passion for writing to enjoy the work. If they asked for your resume, include the job description for writing because that is one way they can assess whether you fully understand what you are applying for. You can go to http://www.bestjobdescriptions.com/ which has a big library of job descriptions.

A porn website (to build or hire out)? -

I have been shooting/directing (porn) for a short while now. I did have a plan to build a website but from what im reading, it looks like the way to go is to go to one of the big porn website builders out there and have them create a custom site for me.. (a custom site because i have my own content)... so now to decide who to go with.. any recommendations? I m looking for one that gives the biggest bang for my buck (no pun intended).. but a fully functional turnkey site.. with expandability like maybe adding webcam session at a later date etc. thanks in advance

Hire it out, but make a clear contract as to what the site will do and how much it will costs. Do not pay all the money until your are sure everything works properly.

Overtime pay if you take a vacation day that week? -

Say i normally work 40 hours a week (8 hrs/day X 5 days a week). Last week I took 3 days (24 hours) of vacation. During the other 2 days I worked I worked 12 hour days. So if you add my vacation time in to my hours worked the total number is 48 hours. My question is, should I get paid overtime for those 8 hours? I say no. That you cannot use paid time off to push you into overtime. You only pay overtime for actual hours worked. Other people at my company say it is over 40 hours a week so you have to pay them. Does anyone know the answer to this? And where I can find documentation so I can back it up? Thanks!Brooke

You actually have to WORK 40 hours to get overtime. Being paid for 40 isn t the same as working 40.

It depends what state you are in. If you are in daily overtime state, then yes. (CA, NV, etc). Most likely you aren t.In 40 hour a week overtime states, the company does not need to pay you for that overtime. But based on company policy they could pay you.

Under federal regulations only time actually worked above 40 hours per week is subject to overtime. In your example there is no overtime because you only worked 24 hours.

are you salary or hourly?do you normally get paid for OT hrs?teh teh OT approved by mgmt?to my knowledge - you SHOULD get paid OTturn your hours in and let the payroll dept deal with it

How many hours do I legally have to work as a salaried employee? -

My work seems to expect 60 hours a week from me and I make salary. What is legal? Do I have to work any amount of hours they want?

Now you see why they want you as salary. It is sad but even in 2009 the labor laws are still to help a business and not its employees. If you are hourly, I can have you work 50 hours strait. As long as I give you required lunches, and pay you overtime for the 10 hours, it is legal. Fall asleep I can fire you. I can have you work 40 hours strait as long as I give you the required lunches (I do not have to pay OT) it is legal. As a salaried employee, you have signed away your soul, so there is no limit to the ways I can legally abuse you.

There is no limit to the number of hours you can be required to work, according to the US Department of Labor Fair Labor Standards Act.http://www.dol.gov/dolfaq/go-dol-faq.aspQuestion: How many hours per day or per week can an employee work?Answer: The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) does not limit the number of hours per day or per week that employees aged 16 years and older can be required to work.

As an exempt employee are paid for the work they do not the hours it takes to do the work. If it takes you 60 hours, to do the work, than it takes you 60 hours. But it works both ways... if you take a vacation day and answer a phone call or email, that is considered work and no longer eligible as a vacation day.

Would this be a good business idea? -

Recently with the unemployment rate being so high, some of my friends have come to me for advice on what the should wear, how they should do their make-up and hair for an interview. The reason is competition is so high. I have transform 5 friends to perfect business look for the jobs they are going after. One of my friends told me I should start a business of this. Consulting people on the right look for a job interview. Do you think I should or is this a stupid idea? Also would you personally use this service and how much would you be willing to pay for this? Please only serious answers! Thank you.

I think you should try to develop it as a sideline but I don t think this could be someone s main job.

Yes that is a business idea that could fly for you but realize a few things... you won t be the first (or only) in the business as an image consultant. Also, just like in design shows you may like the look you create but your client may not like the drastic changes. Offer more services than just wardrobe for a full transformation station. Partner with hair stylists, resume writers, and other professionals that can get the client from where they are to where they need to be. Finally realize that unemployed people don t always have alot of money to part with for the new image you help them with. Consider learning how to shop sales and thrift shops to help your customers get more for less and keep your fees realistic. Pass business cards around to clothing stores, salons, and other places and get an incentive program going for discounts. You might charge $25 for your consultation and bring in another $25 from commissions when you refer stylists or other professionals and businesses. Get to the library for books on business plan writing so you know what directions you are going, assess your competition, and have a financial plan of action. Remember that your business income and personal income will merge. Keep them seperate by learning about tax records, accounting, business insurance, legal rights, purchasing, and other business topics that you can use help with.

I think it s a fantastic idea! What a great and marketable concept! First impressions are the most important. You can even expand it to include posture, a handshake, eye contact, etc.Maybe even a run thru mock interview! In this market any edge is to the potential employees advantage! The fact is true...when you look good you feel good. And giving off a positive self image and boasting confidence is the difference in two people with the same resume landing the job!You could charge an hourly rate, you could charge a per service rate or you could even prorate your additional fees based on whether the client lands the job or not. You would have to figure out how much you need to make an hour. Your expenses. Will you shop or just accessorize from what the client already has available? That means traveling to someone s home or going to a mall or something. Do you need a babysitter? Etc....You can pair up with a resume coach to increase your client database!Awesome idea! Run with it!

Employee work schedule to save money!!!? -

Helllo peeps! rights now sales are down at work and I m being ask to work my guys 32 hours a week originaly I would work them by groups A and B group A would be off on fridays and group B would be off on mondays does anyone have a better idea that I can bring to the table...to save the company money?

Without knowing what your business is, that s actually a really good way to improve morale whilst cutting hours. Another interesting idea, depending on the situation, might be to have some of the workers work from home some of the time. As long as they are not needed in the office, having a day or two that is a work from home day might improve their morale, even if it means that they are taking work home with them. There are quite a few companies that are cutting back on travel, as a cost saving measure. If you can do that, there will be significant savings for the company right there. Many large companies are seeing savings of 15 to 25% of their budget, just by reducing the amount of travel that is allowed.

If you are only open 5 days a week, I would make 5 groups, so each group is off one day.You can also ask your guys if they have any ideas.I usually vote for things like getting rid of company newsletters, eliminating staff meetings - which just waste time.Good Luck!

You have to start thinking S-M-A-R-T. What kind of cutbacks can you make? For example: I drink bottled water. Paying $1 a bottle on something that covers over 65% of our planet is not smart. So I bought one of those water filters that screw into your faucet. I have bottles that I refil over and over again. This doesn t take much time and you will reduce your carbon footprint as a bonus. Do you have a lot of small appliances around the house that are always on? Televisions, subwoofers, computers, modems, sterio equipment and microwaves use the most energy when they are left plugged into the outlet, even when they are turned off. Plug all your plugs from entertainment system into those 6 prong outlet plugs with the switch on them. When you are not using these items shut the switch off. I noticed a huge difference on my electric bill just by doing this. I also bought some of those florescent bulbs that look a lot like a regular bulb. These things use 80% less electricity than regular bulbs. Ave 60Watt incalescent bulb (old school) runs you 2 cents per hour. Ave 60Watt energy bulb averages 0.5 cents per hour. Wanna be creative? Find yourself leaving lights on? Buy a motion sensor switch, the lights will turn on when you enter the room and will turn off (by a set amount of time) when you leave the room. I have one, they cost $15 at HomeDepot. You would be surprised, but these small things add up. If you really need the money right away start cutting back on your food costs. Romain noodles cost a dime and they taste just as good as campbells chicken noodle that costs over $1 a can. Ok no chicken in romain noodles, but you are probably just missing about 4 tiny pieces of chicken. Adjust your toilet to use lesser water. If you don t know how to do this then put a brick inside your toilet chamber . You will use a less water each time you flush, this adds up over time people. Before you know it you will be ahead. Do you really need over 100 channels on your cable tv? Watch shows on-line for free and down grade your cable service. Need new windshield wipers for your car? Who says you have to buy 2? You only need the new one on the drivers side, leave the old wiper on the passenger side. Are you an impulsive buyer?? Listen here s what you do......always save the receipt. Find a place to save all the boxes, packaging, etc. Try to get obsessed with folding all the packing materials, making them neat and tape the receipt onto the box/package. Make a game out of it. And get yourself into a new habit called impulse returning I once bought a shampoo rug cleaner to scrub my carpets. After I was done I didnt need it anymore so I returned it to the store. I like to think of it as free rental. So remember you have to start thinking S-M-A-R-T!my source: http://www.myspace.com/legalizemarijuana
