Looking for funding to start up a new business in the South West of England. Where do I begin? -

I m a young man interested in getting into my own business as soon as possible. I have a great idea i know will do well and an available premises. However, I can t help but feel that because of my age i will struggle to find anyone willing to invest as much money as I think I will need. Does anyone have any advice on the best place other than a bank to seek potential investment?

Sometimes Prince Charles charity, the Prince s Trust will help. Prince Charles has a lot of his estate in Devon and Cornwall, so has an interest in the Westcountry. I don t know if investment is made, or whether they just give help in starting up.

Speak to your local Business Link. They re very good on sources of funding, including ones specifically for young people in business. You ll need a sound business plan before you apply for funds from anyone. Business Link can help you with this, too.Good luck!

It really depends on how much money you have yourself, to put into the business,as no lender will risk their money, if you won t risk your ownMy son started his own business when he was 24, but he d already saved 6,000and the bank helped with the rest that he needed

its hard enough to keep businesses open here in the south west as it is without trying to start up something new. 3 factorys have closed in last 2 years where i live losing 400 jobs. maybe u should try internet shop first
