Good Fund raiser ideas for a new club? -

I m in my college s new Eco club..And we haven t done too well in our last couple of fund raising attempts.. We are trying to be successful while staying GREEN, and its backfired on us.At our last event, we sold beans, yea I know, and we barely sold 3 cups of beans =/Maybe were going about it the wrong way, but I m looking to try anything that can help this club survive!Maybe make an Organic Bake sale? Chemical Free Car Wash? Anything!? I really want to fund affordable trips, inform people about the environment, and plan events, but we can t if we don t have or earn enough cash...What are some good Fund Raising Ideas?Thank you!

Maybe you could sell seedlings in milk carton halves. Just buy an entire packet of seeds...sunflower, native plant, which ever, and then sell them once they start to sprout.

How difficult would it be to start a small nursing home? -

First, small is a relative term.Next, you d have to be qualified, have certification in Health Care, (probably a Master s Degree in Health Care Management)Then come the fun things:The Federal, State and County licensing boards.......Those are a TON of fun, you have to have background checks, standards checks, facility licensing fees, a facility that s going to have to be inspected by the Federal Government, State Government, and local govt. Then you re going to have to post that you re opening a nursing home, a certain time from the actual opening , once you get all the necessary permits and authorization for doing so in your locale. You ll also need:A doctor 24/7 (law here in California)A nursing staff, 1 nurse for every 5 patientsCertified/Currently Licensed Registered NursesCertified Nursing AssistantsCaregiversJanitorial staffingNutritional Panel/Food ServiceCertified/Currently Licensed Pharmacist, 24/7Social Workers/Master s Social ScienceXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXThen, there s the Administrative side of things:AdmissionDirector of NursingOh, and the MOST fun thing of all: A legal department, with RETAINED lawyers. Nursing homes get sued MORE THAN ANY OTHER INDUSTRY. Want me to keep going?? Opening a nursing home is not just something you do on a whim .......Takes a LOT of planning, money and time and permits........Christopher K.

Extremely.

You can only obtain legitimate work from home positions from brick and mortar companies. You want to send your resume out to companies hiring for positions you are qualified for, but include in your resume that you have a home office and you wish to work remotely. Include how you have your home office set up and what equipment you already have in order for you to perform your job. These jobs are just going to advertised as jobs, they would not promote them as work at home because they would hear from too many unqualified people. Any job requiring any kind of fee or investment is not legitimate.

If it is the advertisement where the person says they were a mortgage broker, then it is a scam. I have seem this ad numerous times with many different names on the ad. The actual product/service is not what the ad is promoting.I work with the Powerbar Club which is a completely free home based online business.

What kind of home business one can do in the organic food area? -

$2500 I want to start a home business . what are some ideas out there? thanks or if you have any link that can help me. I would appreciate

if you know how to garden on a large scale and are willing to learn how to do a commercial garden and work long hours for short pay than market farming (raising produce or livestock is for you). You will need at least 3 acres to make this profitableProcessing food that others produce into things like salsa, pickles, lacto-fermented goods is a good endeavor but in most states they require you do such in a licensed kitchen which is expensive to put together in your own home (a minimum of $10K to do this) and you will need to be inspected by county health. you will need to check with your stated dept of Agriculture and the State Board of Health to know if you can do any food processing without a license

My friend raises chickens on organic feed, and sells the eggs. She also buys organic produce and makes salsa s, which sell like crazy here in Arizona. Another lady comes in to my work sometimes selling fresh, home made tamales, and she started doing it for extra cash, but her tamales are so popular, now some local stores even carry them.People who care about animals and their health are always looking for eggs from well-cared for chickens that aren t tortured, that roam free in a coop and eat nutritious food. Plus a lot of people love buying local favorites, so depending on what part of the country you live in, you could always just buy the ingredients and start making a local favorite food, with your own personal touch. Then start posting up ads on craigslist, and going around to the local businesses right before lunchtime, and watch how fast it sells.

This really depends on the resources you have available. Are you able to grow vegetables or farm chickens? There are a number of good opportunities in the organic food area but unless you have enough space to grow a viable amount of organic produce it may be better to source organic produce and create your own organic products to sell such as jams, preserves etc.

For people who run cafes? -

Do you enjoy running a cafe? are you sucessful in your bussiness? is is hard to and do you make a fair amount of proffit?

I know a friend of mine looked into that business and in reality it depends on the area your cafe would be located and how many other existing cafes there are nearby. For example, I live in Canada and there is a Tim Horton s Coffee Shop on every corner in the town I live in. It would not make sense at all to open a cafe because there is already a well known competition to compete against.I would say you can open a cafe but you have to find something to go with it, you can t just have a cafe. Look for something that seperates you from the rest, like a beauty parlor/cafe or a pet-cafe (open to people with animals so they can enjoy a coffee and you could sell dog treats or something). You need to find something that sets you apart from all the rest of the stores around you and you need to find a very nice location.

Can the buyer get his money? (ebay)? -

i sold a item on ebay, and i think the package was lost, but i called the post office, and there gonna look for it.so if they can t find do i have to give the buyer his money back?i have a tracking number to show that i shiped it.there was no insurance put on it.

What does the tracking # show? As a seller you are responsible for the item getting to the customer. If the item doesn t arrive either you refund the full amount or paypal forces a refund. Insurance protects the seller in the event of lost or damaged items. If they loose the package the usps will not re imburse you.

Just from my personal opinion, you shouldn t be charged. If you shipped the item like you said and your responsibility was your Post Office should reimburse you. When you signed for the package to be sent off, you should have only had to pay for insurance if the package was over a certain weight. Check out the receipt. I m sure your Post Office hasn t lost it though.

Yup your stuck;(

What do people usually charge/pay for bookkeeping consulting? -

I did bookkeeping going through college at a supermarket for an hourly rate I wouldn t touch with a ten foot pole now, but what do people charge outside of hourly retail? A personal trainer wants me to help streamline her bookkeeping, unsure yet if it s a one time or continuous thing. Any ideas would be appreciated.

You have two questions to answer ... what is the market rate and what is your time worth. They are not necessarily the same thing.Market rate will depend on education skill and experience. A CPA firm may charge a couple hundred an hour while the local bookkeeping service may only charge $20 per hour. Call a couple of local services and ask what they charge. It will cost you 30 minutes of your life.Lots of times in situations like you describe the person asking is really looking for something for nothing. They want you to do it for a very low rate because the don t have money to start with. As you go they add extra tasks but assume it is all inclusive. Be clear on the scope and fees and really take the time to understand what your time is worth.

I run a bookkeeping business. I have 4 years experience with a specialization in payroll, 2 year college course in accounting and business. I charge an hourly rate of $25/hour no problem. I m currently studying for the CPB designation and after that I ll more then likely up my hourly rate by $10-$15 and know I won t have a problem getting that amount.

You can charge between 20 and 100 per hour. Remember, it is really about your experience and what people believe you can help them with.
