Me and my friend need a business name. We take pictures of events and make them into dvds.? -

Our names are Sarah and Tiffany, please help.

Any names that are suggested here may already be owned by another party and/or may be trademarked so I wanted to go a different route...Here s a few things to keep in mind:1) Keep your industry, your clients/customers, your advertising plan in mind. 2) The more unique distinctive a name, the higher the chances that the name is legally available for use. And the higher the chances of obtaining the trademark.3) Think of your business as having a personality. What kind of image do you want your business to portray? Specific brainstorming tips:Think about what you want but more importantly, think about what you DON T want. If you don t want a 3-word name, don t bother with those. If you don t want non-English words, don t bother with those so on and so forth. What are the types of names you like? Think about words in their simple forms, e.g. adjectives, Latin roots, mythological names, etc. Compile a listing of the types then seek out resources, such as books or sites, which specialize in those types. Here are some links where you can do some preliminary name checking:http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe?f=te -- USPTO C Preliminary Search of Federal trademarkshttp://www.statelocalgov.net/50states-se --Go to your state s Secretary of State page to see if they have a searchable database of business nameshttp://www.hoovers.com/free/ http://www.thomasnet.com C Must register (free) to search their databasehttp://www.nameboy.com C Domain name searchhttp://yellowpages.superpages.com/yp.adv C National yellow pages; leave location blank to search nationwide However, please be aware that this is merely scratching the surface of what s out there. Only comprehensive research will tell you if the name is truly available. But, these links are free a great place to start, so I d try them out first. This entails searching the pending registered Federal and State trademark files as well as the US National Common-Law files. Then, if clear, you can decide if you would like to file for a Federal or a State trademark. Hope that helps! I wish you much success happiness in all your ventures!

I wnt to start business of imitation jewellery/ soft toys/ embroidary, whichever needs less capital.pls guide.? -

Unless you are making this yourself, you are barking up the wrong tree. Others have said it. If you dont have the capital, or a way to raise it, you dont need to be doing it...

I don t mean to burst your bubble but none of these are good businesses at this time. I was in the gift wholesale business for years and folks are going bankrupt everywhere. Small retail stores are closing and wholesalers are as well. Unless you plan to make this yourself and sell it to family and friends or craft fairs or something then I would avoid going into it. The fact that you have no capital is also a danger sign.

Can you store inventory in your home for business? -

I want to start an online ebay business, but I m not sure if I m allowed to store inventory in my home. Does anyone know if this is allowed? I live in Sacramento California so information regarding this specific area will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You can not conduct business from a home IF it annoys the neighbors and creates truck traffic. Think Avon or May Kay or any of the home party lines of business. If you are discreet you will be fine - you display your goods in your driveway and open for business - no you can t.

Yes, you can. You simply designate a office room and storage because that is the only way you can deduct it on your taxes.Your home office and storage is figured by the square footagebut it must be all in one area.Good Luck!

How do i open my own kawaii shop? Best answer get 10 points? -

Okay I m only 15 and I m planning to open my own kawaii shop in the future. I was wondering do I have to take classes to open it?Where can I buy the things for the shop like racks,hanger,shevels,Ect..The store/shop is just going to be kinda like the saniro store but with Japanese stuff instead. Please help and tell me everything how to open my own shop please!!!

I recommend the book In Business For Yourself by Bruce Williams.Contact the Small Business Administration in your area. They will help you plan setting up your store. For the fixtures (display racks, counters, etc) contact the business supply stores in your area. If you have trouble find what you need, go to a small store in your area and ask the owner where they bought their shelves and racks. Look for store closings in your area. Make an offer on the racks and shelves (ask what they want for them and haggle). Then all you need is a place to keep them until you open your shop. Be selective, you want versatile units that look in good condition. Look for adjustable metal shelves if you need shelves.Inventory is going to be trickier, but if you know a source now, you will be in a better position when you go to apply for a business loan.
