Is being a consultant necessarily mean it is a good job? -

Sometimes when someone were to tell you they are a consultant, it will seem they are in a great job and it does sound prestigious. However, can being a consultant necessarily mean a great job? For example, someone can claim to be a food consultant but can that be something special or if someone were to claim they are beauty consultants, does it mean they had been promoted to a good and high level position?I remembered a few years back a friend of mine lost his job. For quite a long time, he was jobless. Then he started a consultancy company and became a consultant. So it seemed he had suddenly been promoted .However, we all know he had been jobless and he started the consultancy company to make a living.Likewise, I see a number of beauty consultant shops in my town that provide beauty tips to their customers. However, these shops are not regulated by the authorities and any Tom, Dick and Harry can be a consultant. So is being a consultant (any consultant) necessarily mean you are in a good job?

Consultant in it s original form is the one who is knowledgable in some discipline and appointed for consult on certain matters could it be on industry/ business / management or on technical Presently it is used very frequently and has its value diminished.

a consultant is slightly more than a executive. a consultant idealy knows the in and outs of the area he is consultanting and he has prior expenicenes in that area working himself. if good job means good salary and some perks then yes, he gets better salary as he has experience in that field and can advice the company on how to proceed. if good job means more learning then maybe not.

Anyone can call themselves a consultant. Many white collar workers who get laid off start consulting companies to fill the gap in their resume until they land a full time job.In the true since of the word, a consultant is an expert in their given field and have the knowledge, training and experience to help solve difficult problems that companies are willing to pay a premium to receive. Some consultants that I work with bill $300 an hour. However, these people typically have graduate degrees and a proven track record of producing results. Many times their compensation is tied to the completion of a project so they are at risk of not being paid if they fail to deliver.Being a consultant can be a great job but it often requires a great deal of work at no pay in order to land new clients. Many times these clients are located in other parts of the country or even the world so traveling for extensive periods might be required.

Alternatives to royal mail for small packages? -

I m selling tons of stuff on ebay over the next 3 weeks and wondered if there was a cheap alternative to royal mail. I don t want the buyers to be waiting until after christmas for their items. Most of it is clothing so fairly lightweight. Any suggestions would be welcome. Cheers

Try Interlink. I ve just switched to them from TNT because they offer decent rates on their bags. They do an up to 1kg bag rate and an up to 5kg bag rate. I estimate you may be looking somewhere in the region of 6(ish - so don t hold me to that) depending upon your usage. Their software is really easy to use making booking collections and tracking parcels quite easy. Don t know if this is up your street but I hope it helps.

Rind some of the courier companies and ask what they charge. You may be pleasantly surprised. The office I work in uses couriers to get stuff to labs etc and never uses the Post Office.
