I m 20 years old and im very keen on starting my own business, i ve always wanted to be a photographer and i do have experience in the field but i have no clue how to start up my own business, would really appreciate some advice!

Doing it you will learn from your mistakes so get out there and start taking photographs and sell them online. There are ton s of sites that will sell them for you. There are ton s of books on how to start your own photography business.

Can you expand on this? What you are taking pictures of would determine the route you take. Wedding photos and National Geographic photographers would not start out the same way.

i cant see how they would be in demand. selling them on ebay it this point in my experience they would go for a low price. You could go around to local restaurant s and bars asking were they receive there chair how much they cost ask if there interested in your products show them some examples and designs of what you could do for them

My working hours change a lot..? -

hi, just wanted to know you re views.I have a contract of working 32 hours a week, but generally would work 2-10 hours extra. Now, I look after a child and my boss ( the mother) changes my working hours quite drastically. The prearranged hours are like 9-17 depending on the day of the week, but one week she would ask me to do 13-22 oclock with short notice,, which makes it hard for me to make plans after work.. I feel bad if I say no, so I rarely decline their request..What do u think, is this legitimate?

are you a nanny? they can set your hours to what they want, unless it says they can t in your contract. if you don t like your job, get another one. that s what i did =] i also work in childcare.

Was the prearranged schedule in writing? If yes, obviously the drastic change in hours is not legitimate. However, since this company appears a mom and pop operation, you are at the mercy of the owners. If you have a good relationship with the boss, try to have a talk with her, and explain your predicament. If she does not seem willing to reach a reasonable compromise, you may have no choice except to put up or leave.

Did you find the job through an agency? It may be worth talking to them to say that the hours are not what their client asked for when they asked the agency to find them someone.

I have loads of quality Stuff to sell on eBay but I have noticed at the minute the prices Stuff fetches is peanuts.. Then eBay wants its cut for selling it... Just saw a guy from ebay on TV trying to justify the policy of users not now being allowed to sell an item with a separate postal charge. He was like a worm on a hook!From what the guy was saying, ebay is interested in businesses selling rather than individuals.So, if you have a business small or large and can offset the postage pricing or cuts that others take somehow, then ebay is the way for you.As a private or casual seller, it may well be that ebay no longer supports your needs.Ebay survival? If they continue the way they are then they will only survive for use by businesses that can afford to use the service . For the casual seller though, ebay seems to be on its last legs - if not death bed.

Well it depends what stuff you are trying to sell. You can check ebay for auctions that have been completed to see what your stuff actually sold for. (its in advanced search options)You are right, they all take a cut. You can avoid paypal fee if they send a money order. But they stick you with the fee for its convince.You could always try to post it locally for free (craigslist.com) to see if that nets you any hits. Then try ebay as your last resort.Ebay will be around for awhile I think. The good thing about ebay is almost anyone/anywhere can buy it from you, so it reaches out to more people. But like I said it all depends on what your selling.
