Why hasnt my new modeling agency contacted me again to come in to order comp cards? -

Recently I got invited to join a small, but reputable modeling agency in my town. I still have the contract at home and have not returned it, signed by the agent, just not yet returned. Anyway, my very nice agent got me into a couple of fashion shows (unpaid) for exposure, but since the last show (about 2 weeks ago), I have not heard from him.Is it a very busy time of the year or something? Or do you think because I didn t do amazingly at one of my first fashion shows that he is reconsidering signing me?I would like to order comp cards through the agency, but he has not returned my email, politely asking if I could come in to order them. What does this mean? Does it usually take this long to actually order comp cards, or do the agencies usually want you to come in right away if they are interested? Please help! I hate wondering...Lissa

They aren t calling you back because you say you haven t returned the contract to them. They aren t going to bother following up with you until you return the signed contract and they know you are committed to joining the agency. They see this as you either having a problem with the contract, or that you aren t serious about joining the agency. Most people would have returned the signed contract immediately if they were really keen on the agency. You don t need to order comp cards through your agency. I would call around to various photo studios to see how much they charge for a shoot, then look online for comp card printers who are usually cheaper than producing through the photographer

Help selling firewood? -

How should i sell firewood, should i sell the pieces how they are (just small logs cut about 16 inches long) or should i split the pieces of wood. i can do either but i was just wondering which would be better to sell. thanks

You will get more $$$ by splitting the wood yourself. My younger brother has a tree service and gets a lot more for split wood.

Small business in photography - looking for a program to keep track of appointments, clients, etc.? -

I m a photographer looking for a program - free or not - that is easy to use, that handles my client list, sales, and schedule.Something that keeps track of appointments people have booked for shoots, marks attendance and prior sessions, what they ve purchased and have on order, etc.Basically, I m looking for a clean working filing system. I ll take any number of recommendations to websites that offer for download, or to programs I can purchase. Thanks so much!

I doubt you ll find a freeware that can do what you want it to. What you re looking for is probably industry specific. I did a quick search and came up with some for you to look at.http://www.studioplussoftware.com/produchttp://www.successware.net/index2.htmlhttp://www.photoonesoftware.com/http://studiocloud.com/index-2.htmlhttps://www.tave.com/A forum posthttp://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.a

How can I find out if an old empty restaurant is for sale? -

The easiest way to find out who owns the abandoned restaurant is to find the owner of the building. If you have a friend who s a realtor, they can look up the buildings owner searching your cities public records (most realtors are directly connected). Lot s of major cities also offer the same search online for free or a small fee. If all this fails, you can go down to your cities public records and find the buildings owner in person the whole fashion way. The owners of the building will most likely know who your should contact about the restaurant. Hope this Helps.

Contact your local county tax office or register of deeds who should know who owns the property that the restaurant is at (you need to provide the address). The property owner may own the restaurant owner if they leased the building or perhaps the property owner also owns the restaurant.

Employment question/leaving /remployment as francise? -

what are the laws involving employment when leaving full time employment, to do the same job with my own limited company for thesame company i was employed by

Sounds very like an IR35 type case. HMRC might well still see you as an employee, it all depends on just what contracts your Ltd Co have, and whether these are all with your current employer - in which case you would typically be an employee, not a contractor.

Your contract of employment might have a clause in it to prevent you from working in the same kind of business within a certain radius or within a certain time limit. However, some people conside these clauses to be unenforceable and a restraint of trade.

How do you start a website for a business? -

Preferably a free site, professional though.

You can get a free website. There are lots of website that offer free website. For example Microsoft live offers a free website, hosting and you can include upto 5 pages. However, it depends on what you want accomplish with the website. If you are trying to sell something and your customers will pay you through the website then FREE WEBSITE is NOT the way to go. You should consider contacting a professional because you dont want to lose your customers, money or your customer trust.

I work with a website solution that is awesome. It is not free but gives you a customizable site that you can change with point/click and drag/drop ease. If you want to check it out, we offer a free 30 minute demo of a live site that you can try and see if it would be what you are looking for.If e-commerce is important to you this site solution is key because it will give you the functionality of a large business but without the price tag - your customers will get recently viewed, account history, zoom features, wish lists, comparison shopping, coupon codes. You will get a great dashboard to manage the sales.

I have 5 websites that look VERY professional. Go to Yola.com You can create fast, free and easy websites, that still look professional!

Easy google flash templates and you will get 1000 s of websites for like $20-$65

What business can i start with 10 k ? -

Where i can have good opportunity for growth,

As 10 k downpayment - less $2000= $8000 x5= you can borrow 40kYou have to look for 40 k capitalization. Also need a return on it to pay for loan est $500and your labor It is not ez. May be an ice cream shop or mobile vending.

That depends on you and the local laws and market. Figure out what you really want to do. You will work harder at a job you love. Talk to your local Small Business Administration to develop a business plan and to possibly get a start up loan.New York City is a mecca for street food vendors, but in most other cities people prefer going to actual restaurants.Daycare is carefully regulated these days, but it is relatively cheap to get started. Daycare for senior citizens is a growing industry and bit easier for the most part.
