Can a bank charge me money at their branch to cash a check to get MY money? -

Bank of America charges $6 to cash a business check. In my opinion, they have my money. It s mine and I have every right to have it. I m not asking them to transfer funds to my account, nor am I asking them to go out of their way to get the money to me. I am taking the check to them, all they have to do is punch a couple buttons on the computer, see that there is money in the account and hand me some cash that they have in the drawer right next to the teller.

Congress has passed legislature that allows banks to basically do whatever they want to us. They charge you for any little thing, got to get back all that money that they ve lost. Thru their greed, they lost money. Now they ve got to get us to pay it back.

No, this is not my account. I should charge my customers the extra six bucks for doing the work for a BoA customer. Report Abuse

Yeah unless you ahve an account with them most banks will charge you a small procesisng fee, its actually cheaper to go to walmart (they charge 3$ a check) if you don t have a bank account anywhere. If you have an account with them and they are still doing it I would suggest another bank

yes i am a teller at a community bank we charge for hardly anything the only thing that we require is that you are a customer so to answer your question yes they can and yes it is stupid i suggest to deposit your money then go to atm and draw it out .....no charge ..... unless they charge for that too however chosing another bank would be a good option as well

If you don t have an account with them then they can and will charge you to use their bank. They are there to service their account holders not every Tom, Dick and Harry that comes along and wants to cash a check.

Yes, it sucks but they can do it. Read your account agreement.

If this is your own account, why are they charging you?

yep they can unless you get an account with them; that is their leverage- not right but legal

How to raise money to self publish a cook book for charity? -

Gathering a list of ideas on how to raise enough money to cover the costs involved in printing a cook book to sell for charitable purposes. We re not a charity, the book has been compiled by us and will be printed by us to supply to charities to then sell for profit. We don t really wish to fill the book full of advertising though we may have to. To sell inserts instead we would have to bag each book individually and feel it may make it unattractive to potential buyers - even if we provide a sample to flip through. Not sure on that one.Any ideas? Oh and definitely not interested in getting finance for it.

Glad to see you avoided those publishing packages and POD.Get a small amount of advertising sold in the book, in exchange for a few copies for them to use for giveaways or gifts when you go to print. Once you have that done, promote this fact on your website and then offer your book up for pre-ordering - perhaps the first 500 who pre-order go in the draw to win something? A good trade promotion like that is a great idea to get the word out about your book. Write a press release concerning your trade promotion and send it out to the local papers and post it where you can on the net. That s how I did it.

Sounds like the perfect scenario for self-publishing. Just Google self publishing and start looking around at different companies and what they have to offer. Instead of needing 10 s of thousands of dollars to publish, you simply pay for an all-inclusive package and the books are simply printed only after they have been sold or ordered online. This way it only costs a few hundred bucks or so and you can easily get that amount from a company to be the sole sponsor of the entire book (name on the cover and a few ads throughout). I don t have a specific company to refer but just check them out. Good luck...

How to ask for sponsorship from local businesses for my student exchange? -

I am going on a student exchange after year 12 to learn a new language and widen my career opportunities. Trouble is it is going to cost about $20,000 dollars (AUD) and it is going to be hard to save that money on my own.So a family member suggested that i approach local businesses asking for sponsorship for my tripif i ask for 40 businesses for $500, ill have that 20,000.How do you ask them? do i write a letter or ask in person?how do i write it ? what do i say?but if i get it, what can i do for them to make it fair?please help + thanks in advance.

i dont mean to upset you but, in all honesty, they wont sponsor you. companies generally only sponsor people who are doing something worth while and can make them a profit. people do exchanges all the time and it s not something that the company can benifit from. if you were doing something in the public s eye, motorbike racing for example, you would ask tyre companies and bike shops to sponsor you because you would promote their business, they would be entitled to part of your earnings, and they are companies that are in the same field as what you are doing.but on an overseas exchange, your not earning anything over there, not promoting a business, there are no companies that you can really associate your trip with, AND your not really doing something new and exciting. others have done it before, but unlike you they planned this years in advance and worked their butts off and pay for it themselves.you would be better off looking for study abroad loans or scholarships. you could even try looking for a scholarship at the school that you plan to study. i know some places over here have scholarships especially for those who are studying in australia who are not citizens. scholarships are hard to find. you will have to enroll in your exchange through certain programs / companies and only go to the schools that they allow the scholarship for. the aus government has a study abroad loan (like hex for people going to university) called os-help, but it only offers $5000 per semester ($10,000 per year), and you will have to pay it back with 20% interest. http://www.canberra.edu.au/study-abroad/ http://studyinaustralia.gov.au/Sia/en/Hethese sites have some info on loans and scholarships. if you are going to ask for sponsorship then you will be VERY lucky to have more than one or two companies sponsor you and they probabily wont give you much. try small businesses. large businesses / corporations wont be interested. make a few booklets stating what you will be doing over there and how it can benifit their business and the community. make sure you ask in person. dont hide behind a letter or phone call and be prepared for rejection. be polite and as i said, you need to make them see that this will benifit either their company personally (maybe by committing yourself to employment there once you are back) or the community. whatever you do DO NOT tell them that you are seeking a certain amount of money from them (e.g. tell them that you want them to sponsor you for $500). accept whatever they give you no matter how big or small that amount is.you will have to find a way to prove that you are genuine. people look for sponsors all the time and when the money isn t going to a well known cause (like being sponsored for the ms read a thon or the 40 hour famine) then people and companies will be very weary and sceptical.good luck. you will need it.

How do become co-owner of a business? -

It depends on the structure of the business. If its a corporation, then the only way to become co-owner is to buy shares of the business from the owner, or if its a new corporation, then you and the other co-owner can both by shares from the corporation.if the business is not a corporation and it has one owner, then it s called sole proprietorship. If it has more than owner, it s called a partnership. If you want to become a co-owner or partner with someone else, you can do this by signing a contract called a partnership agreement. There is also something called an LLC (limited liaility company) which is sort of a cross between a corporation and a partnership.First things first though, you have to know WHY you want to be a co-owner. is it because you want to share the profits? Will you share the expenses? what about the sharing liability if you get sued? Also the taxes that have to be paid can vary greatly depending on which structure you choose.

You either start it with someone or you buy into it.

I want to start a homely food and catering business in Kerala for which I am in short of the required funds.? -

The required funds is estimated to Rs.2,50,000.00. Any helping hand who will support me in this issue will be surely compansated with interest in return at the utmost faithfullness and loyality.

The interest rates in your country, are low now. People don t want to put savings into the bank, because, they will not get more than a few percent on the deposits.Maybe, if you ask around in Kerala you can find someone who seeks some risks, in an attempt to get more that a few percent on their money. ( The bank rates are low now.)Why, don t you make a business plan, and do you have any real estate property that would secure the loan?

I was wondering how many flyers 1 person can hand out in a 8 hr day ? -

I think it really depends on what the neighborhood is like you are delivering to. If there are long driveways and lots of space between houses it would be longer. Just to give you an idea, I did 200 door hangers in about 2 hours in a neighborhood with short driveways. I think if I ever do that again I ll just hire a neighborhood kid to do it. I bet you could do about 1000 though if you push it.

I have been in management and marketing for over 15 years and there is a better way to market...now I learn after all these years. My buddy is teaching how to use the web to build or improve business online or off. He is giving away a FREE mp3 full of his stuff. Great content!Check it out and let me know what you think.http://hmark.thesecondtier.com/thevideoMark
