Do I need both city and county business licenses? -

I m starting a home based, internet drop ship business that requires a fictitious name statement as well as a business license. Do I need a need to be licensed with both the city and county? I m in Sacramento, CA.

only city, however, the reseller license you normally get in county so if that is the case in Sacramento, yes sure

depends on what the county requires - every county/state/town is different - you will need a state sales tax license also, along with possibly a resale certificate to avoid paying sales tax on items you will be reselling

You need a business degree and a good lawyer.You will have a lot of tax paperwok you will need to know about alone with codes and regulations, not to mention you will need to know how the heck to run a business and make a profit.The lawyer - with a bar you could possibly be sued weekly.I would only do this if you have business degree of some really good smart friends with some serious college educations./

Ok, if you don t know what it takes, then you don t have experience in the industry and you are going to fail.Learn something about the business. Work in all the positions in a bar. Understand what makes a bar run.Then you will not have to ask, your experience will tell you whats needed.

First find a place where a bar is needed, then build, rent, or buy a property that is around stores relevant to people who would like to go there.

I would start by researching how to get a permit to serve liquor in your jurisdiction. It can be a rather lenghty process.

Can an employeer force you to clock out and go home early on a scheduled shift? -

I work in a fast food chain, when business is slow the managers try and make the employees go home early to save labor. If I am scheduled until 4:00, am I entitled to stay until 4:00 no matter how busy or slow we may be.

YES it is not considered force though. However, not knowing where you are in the State of California lets say you showed up to work and it is a very slow day, and after 1 hour the manager wants you to go home. NOW in that case, by law he has to pay you for a minimum of 4 hours.

Do you have a union contract?If so ask the shop steward. If not, he is the boss.

Unfortunately I am not sure what the minimum age for working is in Alaska and what they limit it to. You will need to find this out first. Second sometimes at your age the state will not allow employers to higher you. I am sure you have checked this out but babysitting is universal. Here is my thought maybe you can start your own little business by taking care of your neighbors animals, like taking them for a walk, feeding, washing, etc. Hope this helps you think of things to do.
