Starting an equine store. I NEED A SHOP NAME?? advice/suggestions/ideas/etc? -

Alright, i have decided to open an equine shop. I am going to be starting small, and then expanding when it picks up. I will be opening it near Jacksonville MD, which is close to Towson. There is already one small equine shop in the area where i am hoping to open it, but they dont offer anything western, and they dont have a very good selection. It is a heavily horse populated area. I do, however, need a name for the shop!! any ideas? i want something catchy, but nothing too...plain, you know? One equine shop in PA near where i used to live was called Puddle Duck Creek.....and i DONT want something like that.? it doesn t really have anything to do with horses... what are you suggestions? also, any other ideas/advice would be greatly appreciated!! thanks!!

I m not going to make suggestions, but give you a few things to think about when you choose a name. Don t rush the process and pick a bad name! 1. What do you want your business name to say about your business? Don t restrict it so much that you can t expand or diversify in the future. Once I talked to a woman who named her shop Linda s Candles. It was four years later and less than one-fourth of her store had candles in it! She regretted naming it that, but renaming a business is VERY expensive. 2. Pick a name that your customers will remember, but don t use other businesses names. Don t use Ponies R Us or anything. Don t get too cutesy! People need to take you serious. Remember you can get sued if you use another business name3. And finally think about what will happen when you use just the business initials (called acronyms ). Allie s Succulent Sweets is A_ _ -- you get the picture, I m sure4. The right name can give you a good logo, a good advertising slogan, etc. It can be more than just a sign hanging in a front window. Maybe a logo idea can spur a business name brainstorm a bit. Doodle, daydream, get your creative juices going.5. Consult EXPERTS! Contact the Small Business Admin. And get a mentor to help. Consider the answers you get here, but put them to the test before you grab one and call it yours!Good luck with your new business!

Can you open a post office in any building? -

I have a project in college and I m to be selecting a new service for a building committee and convincing them that it would help the people in the building. The new service I want to select for my project is opening a post office for all the different companies within that building. Can you tell me if you can open a post office anywhere? Or would it be more of a mailing service, where you would trust other people to take you important documents to be mailed out?I m unsure if this is even possible. Thank you so much for any input.(sorry posted the first time in the wrong place lol)

Private citizens don t open post offices - the U.S. Postal Service does. You might want to look into a franchise type operation like Mailboxes, Etc. for instance.

Postal annexes are permitted just about anywhere. They must be requested with the help/blessing of local or state govt. We have one in a local pharmacy, staffed by federal personnel.
