Why is Avon not sold in mainsteam shops like department stores? -

I want to buy avon product, but you need to go through a representative to buy products. And they always try and convince you to buy more products than you need. Why aren t they sold in shops?

Avon uses independent representatives to market their products because it allows Avon to sell their products at a lower price and also provides income for people who want to have their own work from home business.Selling in shops raises the price of products because a company must pay employees (and employee benefits) and travel expenses for the employees to go all over to the retail shops to make sales calls to try to convince the shops to put the products on their shelves. Sometimes the retail stores also expect the company who makes the product to provide a merchandiser to set up and maintain the store displays and keep the shelves stocked. Then the retail shop charges the customer who buys something in their store an additional 50%-100% to make their profit.By selling through independent reps Avon eliminates the cost of employees and their travel costs. They eliminate the cost of buying displays to put in a retail store or paying someone to stock and re-stock shelves. They also don t need to take back and issue as much credit for damaged goods. (Even goods that are shipped and arrive at the store in good condition and are later damaged in the store are returned for credit.)Independent reps working from home have much lower business costs than a retail store, so the retail price can stay lower than it would be if the product was sold in a store.

It s a great marketing tactic.... by having individuals doing all the advertising and retailing of their products, Avon does not have to employ all those people, doesn t have to pay all those benefits, and doesn t have to do near as much advertising since all the individual reps will do what they can do promote the products they sell. And as for them trying to sell you more product than you need, that s just sales in general. Go to any store, it s the same thing.

You can buy mark stuff online, it s the same company as Avon. OR, some flea markets aka swap meets sell Avon!

Actually Avon does have their own store that you can buy from. As for the people trying to get you to buy more it is because they make a commission off of what they sell so they try to sell as much as possible.

because they use direct marketing system

just buy em online

Would I learn how to open a business by majoring in administration or management? -

I am seiously confused to me management means they teach you how to manage an existng business. Administration seems that it focuses on more areas in business like accountng human resource. Which of theses two is the best option when it comes to learning how to be a successful entrepreneur taking in consideration the fact that I have no clue when I first enter college

I don t know for sure, but I don t know if either would really focus on opening a business. Administration does tend to be more general, so maybe that s the better option for you. Look for entrepreneurial classes at your school as well. T

You may not like this answer but it is the truth. Entrepreneurs do things, take risks, fail and keep trying until they realise their dream. Entrepreneurs are usually the worst managers in the world. You have actually captured that in your question. Managers manage things like product launch, sales, marketing, people, processes etc. They have nothing to do with starting a business. You may learn some useful things at University which will help but they sure don t teach you how to start a business.Administration is just that - administration they administer things.Successful entrepreneurs are positive thinkers. They always think that they can do everything. Confidence is one trait that you need to become an entrepreneur.Alan Sugar, Richard Branson - none of these had a university education they just believed they could achieve something and worked at it very hard.

Worry about your core requirements and consult your academic advisor for what they feel will help you more.

I would say go for management

First off let me congradulate you on going to college. I know at times things will be very difficult on your educational journey but I promise you stick in school because it will be well worth the wait. Secondly you are in the right field by majoring in business. This something that I truly love so when I answer your question that this is not just something I speak from expierence but from my heart. To properly answer your question the best fit for you on if you want to be a business owner would be business administration. The classes taken in this field will give you the proper training to effectively start and run a business. You will take classes like accounting, Stragetic planning, marketing , strategic planning, and many other classes designed to teach you how to be a businees men or women Business management is nothing but babysitting your employees. The role of a manger is to lead, organize, direct, and plan, a company its employees and its assets.Best of luck to you and I hope I was successful on answering your question. If you have any other questions don t hesistae to send me a email at drummer7692008@yahoo.com

As a starting point, visit the Business Link website. Although it s aimed at businesses in the UK, it will help you put your ideas together in the right order. The questions you ask about how much it will cost are not easy to answer. It depends on whether you re going to buy somewhere and fit it out from scratch, take over an existing place and what size it is. It further depends on what the extent of the services are that you re going to provide - just drinks, some food, barbecue etc.You will need a lawyer out there to help you. Make sure you find an English speaking one if you don t speak Greek well.Good luck!
