Is there a fee to put an (antique) item in an auction? -

Hi! I have antique item worth a lot of money and I would like to put it in an auction. My question is, Is there a fee that I have to pay to even put my item in the auction?????

Not in a regular auction no ...but they usually charge 15% of the sale price as their commission.

It depends on what website you want to put it up for auction on. Ruby Lane Antiques does charge a fee and many other antique specialists also charge. EBAY is really a liquidation market place and you get less there and the fee is minimal. If EBAY charges a final sales fee I imagine the other charge at least a commission if not more.

It depends on what type of auction and what the estate auctions company charges. You should consult with a local company and ask them about more details. Most of them will do a free consultation and answer any of your questions. Good luck with your item!

I have a major interest in opening my own clothing store? -

What are the basics that are necessary to know about opening a store. And selling the clothes. Oh, and how can I avoid the store closing down.I m still young so can you tell me what majors and minors I should take in college?

I did it now have a small chain. The #1 thing is going to be money. There is really nothing you will learn in school to help you. Some classes on sales, marketing, and taxes, computers (for your own website) will make it a lot easier tho,When the day comes that you actually want to do it, let me know I will give you the step by steps version.

money is key! you have to have constant look over it. if your income becomes less every month then you need to think of a new way to get people back into your store. you got to work your hardest at selling whatever merchandise you have. a buisness, accounting, or managment degree would help with this job. (mainly management and buisness) sorry for being brutal lol. good luck

it is not easy to open a clothing store.so please carefully.i know a website who sales clothing, maybe you can have a look. www.fashionsaler.com
