How does ebay work ..Ebay? -

hey can anyone explain me how ebay works...how ppl sell stuff...is it good?....are there any disadvantages?.....can you sell anything you want?...expecting clear and lot of details.

Basically, one can either sell things in the form of an auction or a direct purchase. 1. If you see something you would like to purchase, you make a bid above a set price that the seller has set. By the end of the auction (extent of time for auction can be anywhere from a few days to a month, I believe), the person with the highest bid can purchase the item. AND/OR there may be a buy it now price, where you can buy something in a traditional, non-auction way.2. To sell something, you set a starting bid price. By the end of the auction time you set, the person with the highest bid will win the item. Money is generally transferred from the customer to the seller via Paypal and the seller will mail the item to the customer. You can t necessarily sell anything you want. I m pretty sure if it s legal, you can sell it, so that means you can t sell animals or explosives and whatnot. And, there are some cosmetics you cannot sell because of ingredients prohibited by the EU (I think this is still a problem..I haven t checked recently.)A major problem with eBay is that because all transactions are carried out through the internet, you don t have a way of knowing if a buyer or a seller is trustworthy. A seller can display a picture of something that looks perfectly fine, but that object may not be what is really being sold. Likewise, I think a person might not pay and be a bad customer. If anyone has complaints about an eBay user, they can leave a negative rating that alerts other buyers and sellers of the true nature of the person with comments like shipping price was unreasonable, it took 2 months for me to get my object! or object quality was horrible etc. Likewise, you can leave positive comments if you had a good experience with a purchase/sale. Here is a brief explanation :When you sell something on ebay it can be for bidding(which people name prices and whoever gets the highest amount by the time you put gets it.you also choose a starting price.) or just to buy now(where you just put the price you want it to be sold at and anyone can buy it immediately.)After you sell something the money from the buyer s credit card gets transfferred to ebay then to your credit card so it is completely safe and money can t get stolen but they can also buy a 2$ insruance so if the product wasn t what they wanted you have to give them a refund(unless you put sales or final or something to let them know there is no refunds.)GOOD LUCK!!!!

There are many local opportunities or groups who give scholarships as well as SBA offices in your area.
