Starting clothing business.? -

hello everyone, please i would love to know places in the UK and America were I can get trendy cloths and shoes for young people and adult at wholesale prices?and what are the pros and cons of starting a business like this?thanks.

.. Ok.. Depends on your location first.. (High traffic location is a must for clothing business).. what will be your specialty ?? adult / females/ males/ or everything ??.. it will cost you alot much if you get everything at once as a start.. and you would not have the nice variety for each devision you want .. If you are looking to sell Adult and young people, clothes and Shoes.... you are looking for $70,000.00 at least to make a decent start, and decent startup push profit.. or customers base.. If you look for specialty first , as women clothes, or men, or kids, it would be better to concentrate and make good name for your start, with less money damage if it turns out to be something else. plus the rest of the other $75,000 you would save for back-up plan, advertisment, etc.... there is many places.. yet the quality, and the shipping prices will make the difference.. what you will need to think before start :- 1- Location, Location, Location.............. high traffic with $5,000.00 better than away location with $1,000.00 rent, etc... 2- what will be your basic main customers ?? Young adults?? teens ?? working women ?? etc..... 3- You look for everything to have at once is very bad for your budget, (Except if you have at least $150,000.00 ) yes i m serious.. You can start small (Not actually small) with $30,000 and you specified only with women trendy clothes you will have a decent collection which can cover a store of (3000 feet / 1000 Meters).. Yet there is plenty of other factors as well.. and there is seasonal items and clothes, etc...... Need any help, will be more than glad.. Im concerned about my pay-packed from where i work. ? -

Some of us work in different locations in a job but as for me i work in a supermarket, though when i went to look at my pay packed its got that amount you earn in a week plus the amount of hours you done but if i were to add up the total every week until i got up to 1 year , does that mean it would bring me to the total i earned in a year ?

No. it would bring you to the total that you were paid in the year. What you are paid and what you earn are not necessarily the same.

In with your wage packet you will have a wage slip that shows your gross pay. The gross pay is the amount you earned that week before any deductions such as tax or national insurance. If you add up all the gross pay for each week then that will give you the amount earned for the year. Your wage slip may also have a section that says earnings to date , so that would tell you exactly what you have earned in the current tax year. When will I get my holiday pay? -

I get paid fortnightly.My next pay date is 4th December, and the following one is 18th December.Our office is closed over Chrismas from 23rd December - 4th January.So normally i would get paid on 1st January, however, its obviously a public holiday and no one will be there to do it. If we dont resume back until the 4th will i be paid my holiday pay back on the 18th decemeber before we go on break?

With most employers it is four weeks annual leave. You should have clarified this with your employer when you started at your place of employment. This is a lump sum of four weeks pay. You will have to work a year from the time you started employment at your place of work to qualify for holiday pay.You do not get holiday pay because it is Christmas, Easter or some other public holiday. Under the present system you are supposed to negotiate as to whether you get time and a half or double time if you work on public holidays like Boxing Day. This is particularly the case in the Hospitality Industry where there are employees on the go all the time to cater to tourists. Well you really need to understand your market. Do a little research into the demand. Make sure you have the resources (human labor, equipment and accounting software) and then make sure you are financially covered for at least 3 to 6 months. Nothing sinks a business faster then under capitalization. Use financing as a last resort if your business model is untested. You can make it with whats called customer financing which is where you use your customer base as a method to sustain you through receivables or contracts. And most importantly, don t go it alone. Is a retail Party Supply Store and A Party Rental Store two different businesses? -

I own a retail Party Supply Store, There is a local business contest in my town. The contest is to write a business plan for a new business and you can win 10 000 to open the new business. It needs to be a new business. I was thinking about starting a Party Rental business. But would it not be considered a new business because I already own a Party Supply Store? I do not have any rental inventory at the moment!

I think you have a good idea since a party supply store is more about selling the plates, balloons decorations for parties (consumables) and a party rental store would more likely rent tables, chairs, chaffing dishes, etc.(durable items). You are still going after the same market, which you are familiar with; however, you will be targeting a different segment. The business plan for a rental store is much different than a retail outlet. You need to consider the higher assets that will be required to have enough rental equipment to maximize your sales while not tying up too much capital during the off-season.
