Say im trying to start my own business.............? -

ok you have to have marketing.......how do i get started, and where can i look to help me

First off, let me congratulate you on trying to accomplish the goal of having a business. I get so excited to hear people say they have an interest in entrepreneurship. I personally get excited because of the strong passion I have towards business. To me learning about business is like learning about survival because when you master how to effective run a business you will always have some source of income. I hope you have a very huge success on your journey. Now to answer your question on how to begin with marketing you first need you first need to understand your market. You need to understand who you want to sell. For example, is the buyer male or female? What type of income does the buyer receive on a monthly, weekly or yearly basis? What form of education does the shopper have? These examples are important factors to understand because there is no reason to sell a product for $1,000 if you know no one can afford the item, or understand how to work the product. Then you need to determine if the market wants your product. The best way I know how to describe this process is to conduct a survey and mail the surveys to everyone in your community or wherever your business will be. Ask them questions that will properly determine if they want your product. For example, how much will they be willing to buy for the product? Ask how they would feel about your product being offer to them. Then after the customers have completed the survey attach some coupon that will allow the person to get a discount for completing the survey. I hope that I was helpful on answering your question.

Yes what is your question. I would be more than excited to answer your question. Also my email address is drummer7692008@yahoo.com if you want to ask any other quesions after this question.t Report Abuse

Opening up a Cafe: LLC or Corporation? -

I am planning on opening up a cafe in the next few months and i wanted to find out if LLC (limited liability) or corporation is best fit for cafe type of business?

Either will give you protection; but an attorney would be able to tell you the differences, if any.As for the comment about corporations are for big companies and big start up costs, BS. Both require set-up and filing fees with your state and both require yearly renewals (also with your state). Here in MA, there is a minimum income tax of $456 and an annual report of $125 for a sub-S corporation. The LLC pays a renewal fee of $500.One of the biggest differences is an LLC is not recognized as an entity by the IRS, so you elect how you are going to file the taxes. If it s a single member LLC, you can report the income on your personal return as a schedule C. If there are multiple members, you can file as a partnership or as a corporation. But once you elect the reporting method, you have to stick with it. In other words you can t file as a partnership one year and a corporation the next.Another difference is the way ownership percentages are allocated. In an LLC, you have more flexibility than a corporation. Say you have a partner but he s silent (doesn t work the business), you can allocate the income on the tax return. You should contact a good CPA and talk it over as to what would benefit you the most for taxes.

An LLC would be your best choice. Depending on what amount of income you expect, you may also be able to benefit by electing to be taxed as an s-corp. I work with clients every week on proper LLC formation. Let me know if you need assistance.

An LLC is is the best of both worlds. If the business goes down then you don t go down but you are in control of the business instead of a corporation where the stockholders and committees have control.

I d go LLC. It s the modern approach to incorporating and you re more likely to keep the business small.

LLC is good for small companies. A Corporation is a huge set up read News Corp, Banking Corp etc

your lawyer is the best resource for these types of questions

How do I go about setting up a payment gateway on my website? -

I would like to set up credit card payments on my website. I know I can do paypal, authorize.net etc., but how do I go about setting up a straight credit card payment system, I guess its called a merchant acct. Does it cost alot?

If you want a merchant account with a payment gateway you need to contact a merchant account provider and sign up for an account. Shop around because rates and fees will vary from provider to provider. If you want to use a shared account from a third party processor like Paypal you need to sign up directly with them.

What is the point of retail? -

This is starting to be a sore point between my manager and I. We have two different viewpoints on how to run the boot store we both work at. Is it to appear as if your store has a bunch of items in it or is it to make sales? FYI - My manager is really friendly with us peons , and we are allowed to argue with him about how to run the store...to a point, lol/

The number one goal of any store should be to make money. How you do that is secondary. Maybe both of you are right, in a way - sounds like he wants the store to look attractive, and you want to focus on getting people to buy once they are in the store.

The point of retail is to make money, BUT you also need to look like you re prepared and like you are offering a good deal, and having more stock on the shelves does that... It also makes people think of what a huge vareity there is.
