I am thinking about starting an office cleaning business at night, what should i do to get started legally? -

Start by getting a business license.

Hi!! I clean small offices and will give you an idea or two here. I have tons more tips and resources for you on my Squidoo lens (the link is in my profile). First, call your local city or county clerks office and ask if there are any required licenses or permits needed. If they aren t required to do business where you live, you could wait a bit to get them (they don t cost much-usually under $50). You will need the business license to open a business bank account, etc, and it is nice to have for PR purposes. Next, and most important, is to buy some liability insurance or a bond, the amount is up to you and your agent. Call a lot of insurance agencies and get quotes-the price varies quite a bit. The insurance/bond will protect you from claims of damage or theft, plus, because you will be cleaning after hours, it is a great selling point to potential customers.Start noticing new office buildings under construction and offices that have a property management contact. For new places, buy a dozen donuts and go find the construction superintendent. Give him the donuts and ask who you should contact to set up a cleaning contract. Always have business cards, fliers (promoting your services and benefits) and try to wear a shirt, hat or something with your cleaning company name wherever you go.These are just a few suggestions. More at the link in My Profile.

For a quick overview of the business, I d suggest you download a free, 50 minute mp3 and transcript on starting an office cleaning business at www.hardtofindseminars.com/Cleaning_Offi e4marine. I ve listened to this recording countless times. It s got excellent information!I d suggest you get some background information to get started.Do a google search of how to start an office cleaning business . I found excellent information that way including legal forms.I d also suggest you go to Amazon.com and search how to start an office cleaning business . When I did that I got 50 results. Although not all the results were appropriate (for example, one of the titles was How to Start a Jewelry Business !), there were quite a few books on the specifics of starting an office cleaning business and several books included titled Starting a Business in New York , Starting a Business in Michigan and similar for other states. Some of these books included various legal forms. Since Amazon allows you to peek inside these books, you can look at the index and table of contents of each to see issues, concerns and procedures. You might consider borrowing the most interesting books from the library or, if one or 2 seem very good, you could buy them from Amazon or elsewhere.Keep in mind that in addition to the usual business forms (DBA, incorporation, etcetera), you ll need contract forms for your jobs, background checks, employment forms for employees (if you have employees instead of independent contractors), and so on.Ultimately, after some research to learn what questions to ask, I d suggest you consult with a local business attorney to help you and make sure everything is done right. (It s been my experience that the attorney s fee to set up a business is cheap insurance!)Good luck and I d be interested in hearing how it turns out for you.`

Good luck with that.

Shirt Printing Business.? -

Will custom shirts sell in las vegas?

What do you mean by custom shirts? Pre-printed in some unique design you have made or will you be personalizing them on behalf of a business/casino? You need to provide some more info on your idea. You can sell anything anywhere with the right product/price/marketing mix.

Has anyone ever heard of REO RESQ? Is it a good company to get started with? -

I was doing a little research on Property Preservation and this Franchise Opportunity came up. The name of the company is called REO RESQ, has anyone heard of this company? Also, starting a Property Preservation Business, do you think a franchise opportunity is the way to go?

REO RESQ secures and maintains vacant properties throughout default and foreclosure by offering a comprehensive menu of property preservation business services. Their franchisees perform services such as re-keying of doors and repairing and/or replacing any structural problems that present an immediate safety threat. When it comes to franchising, much of the risk is reduced, or even eliminated. Although there are no guarantees, this business model is as close as you ll come to a guarantee of success. The same studies show that new franchise business startups rarely fail. The reason for this, quite simply, is because the often very long exercise of trial and error has already been done so many times that it s reached the inevitable point of trying and succeeding. The franchiser has made it through the learning curve and, along the way, has developed the success secrets for that business. Those who fail in franchising almost always were not committed to following the franchiser s systems. The main reason you buy a franchise is to minimize risk and to set yourself up for success. Traditionally, in a new startup, independent business, you are almost always operating from a shoot from the hip mentality, which can lead to failure. There is no past experience to draw upon, and it becomes challenging to control all aspects of the business. With a good, successful franchise model, you open yourself up to a deluge of information regarding all aspects of information, including financial assistance, site selection, and a wealth of knowledge from existing franchisees. Also, rapid growth is inevitable with the franchise model, which is only a good thing for a franchisee for many reasons, such as increased name/brand recognition and exposure to national advertising campaigns, which increase sales. Tremendous buying power because of constant expansion is also a major plus.

Whats the legal width for a road on to my business premises? -

ive poeple parking on my road and obstructing my gateway whats the legal width

There is no legal width. If people are obstructing your driveway or gates then call the police and have them removed.

There is no legal width in British Law. You could contact the Highways Agency and see if there is anything they could do, maybe with white lines or restricted parking.
