Do these objectives sound realistic in the start of a business? -

Im doing a business plan for my class and was wondering if these figures are realistic in the first and second year in business. Within a year of being opened our objectives for Late Night Latte are to acquire a fair amount of repeat customers from the University of New Mexico and surrounding businesses in the area. We anticipate 70 percent of our customers will return more than once during the year. Also we hope to make $15,000 to $20,000 the first year and have some profit. Another objective is to meet almost all of our target market��s needs. In the second year of operation we hope to make $25,000 to $30,000, increase profit and payoff some of the expenses that were accumulated in the development of the company.

Is 15k-20k gross or net? If it s net that would be high but reasonable, if that s gross then your company will fail before its profitable. To create a more accurate picture of what you will make, do some research to figure out how many daily customers your competition has. Hell, give dunkin donuts or starbucks a call and ask how many they have-- it s for school, they ll tell you. Multiply that by 365 and that s your 2 year goal. 1st year goal could be 60% of that.How much will it cost to run the business, how much does it cost to make one cup of coffee and how much will you sell it for, how many cups must you sell to break even then how many must you sell to meet your goals?If it costs starbucks $2.00 to make a cup of coffee and they sell 900 per day at $4.00 each then they have $1800 profit. Minus worker salary ($8/hr * 12 hrs *4 workers = 384) so we re down to $1416 profit. 30 days in a month with rent at $2600 which we divide by that 30=86.76 cents. So $1416-86.76= $1329.24 profit. * 365= $485,172.6 profit per year. Natrually this would be in a major metro area with an already established company with massive customer base. You must make at least $471 in profit via cups of coffee to be profitable in this scenario which is 236 cups of coffee in 12 hours per day. Doable? absolutely. Every cup over that is $2 profit; to make $20k profit you need to sell 264 cups per day ($20,000/$2 (profit/cup)/365(figure out cups/day)+236(cups to break even)=264 cups)o.O that was fun. Before, it was easy to get back on, but now they do all the phone verification crap to prevent you from registering a new account, so how do you get back on? Also, is it easier to regsteron another ebay site besides ebay UK, which ebay sites are English-speaking? Also, what is the quickest way to build up high feedback without selling or spending money, they banned the 1p auctions...?

If you were banned you should stay banned. I have been ripped off from people so many times on ebay I am glad they are making it harder for crooks.

hi don t pay attention to these 2 idiots.i was banned of ebay for no just cause at all and i find it impossible to get back on.basically you will need to change your phone number , you Ip address (or buy id my ip software),if you intend to sell use a different credit card and a different bank account to the one you previously send money too.good luck ebay can really suck

When would I have to get a business license? -

If I were to create a small busines. There will be two scenarios. We d like to make a clothing line, with our own brand name. But at the same time we d like to create a small local business of making shirts for large groups. etc. Like a small tshirt design company. It s just going to be out of basement company. Probably not going to be large enough to turn a big enough profit to pay for an office space. My question is when would I have to get a business license? Is there a certain profit margin that I would have to meet or what?

Most towns require an occupation license for any business. Since, you will have to collect sales tax they will find out about you when you apply for a sales tax number and account.

you better check with local zoning to see if you are even allowed to operate a business like that in your basement you would a business license for your proposed business, or you won t be able to get anything wholesale - state sales tax license and sales tax exemption certificates also

Assuming you are in the United States. You should register your business as soon as possible. You can chose to run it under your own name and SS number for a while if you chose but ultimately will want to change that over to an LLC or Corp. Probably an LLC will be most effective for you. It is quite easy to do and you can probably do it yourself online. You do need to register for a federal identification number then. Look, there is no certain profit margin that dictates when you have to do it but certainly you don t want the feds finding out that you didn t do it. If you run for a while under your own social security number, I would suggest going to your local county building and registering a d/b/a, which is doing business as and give yourself a company name. Before too long, you may want to trademark your brand name and logo. If you become popular (as I am sure you hope to), you don t want someone stealing your ideas. In that arena, it is literally first come, first serve. So, even if you have been using your brand for years and didn t trademark it - anyone can take over the rights to the brand name just by registering it.Good luck in your new venture!!www.trysomethingobvious.com

yes i am having trouble as well in fact that is how i found your question cause i was searching wondering what was going on i hope they fix it soon i can sign in and access my account but every time i try to search it says 0 items found try again in a few minutes

I m not having any luck...getting 0 results found for everything. I tried searching in Google Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer with the same. It s 5pm mountain time and it s been like this since noon. There search engine is obviously down. This is pretty lame failure on eBay s part, because today is the first time I ve logged on to eBay in over a year.

I agree with Ken. If they are having problems, then own up to them. Instead we are all here trying to find out from our peers. What a joke. Maybe Craigslist needs to step up. I now realize how much ebay has monopolized this type of shopping. Still no search engine on my ebay.

Yeah im having the same problem, they must have changed something, it doesnt work at all in firefox and google chrome, and in IE i get no results returned. Ebay has messed up big time.
