How to classify this worker? employee? Independent contractor etc..? -

We are in a dentistry business. We are planning to hire this person, a sort of billing agent or an specialist that calls and make appeal letters to insurances so we get paid pending completion of the requirements that insurance is requesting. She offered to come once a week for 4 hours to complete the job needed. She works independently but uses our computer to write the letters and emails and also uses the telephone to communicate to insurance companies. How should we classify this worker? An employee? An Independent contractor? What?Thank you for your help.

The employee is coming in to your office and using your computer and telephone. Since they re in your office, I presume it could be argued that they re being supervised by one of your staff. I d say that the person is an employee.Edit: It seems as though some of the answerers are confused. See the IRS link below with these two items: 5. If you have the right to control or direct not only what is to be done, but also how it is to be done, then your workers are most likely employees.6. If you can direct or control only the result of the work done -- and not the means and methods of accomplishing the result -- then your workers are probably independent contractors.

I would classify her as an independent contractor. As long as you don t dictate to her what hours she has to work. It s completely ok, that you agree together what hours she works. Also, she doesn t HAVE to use your computer telephone. She does this so she is not responsible for controlling the files out of the office.

Independent contractor. You just pay her and not withhold any taxes, and give her a Form 1099 at the end of the year. She is responsible for all taxes, self-employment tax, etc.

She could be either. I would check into which would be more beneficial to the business with taxes and liability.

How does a debit machine work? -

I am planning on starting a business in my home, and i wanted to put in a debit machine. how does it work? where does the money go?

I assume you are referring to a debit/credit card terminal. Basic ones plug into your phone line, you swipe or enter the card info, and your account gets credited. If the processor and your bank account are the same company, the transaction will be same day. If are different, expect at least 24-48 hour delay. Costs will be 2% on average of the transaction, plus a monthly fee (10 bucks or less).

Dog aromatherapy business question...? -

My friend works at a doggy day and overnight camp that is just starting out in the town I live in. They needed some ideas for retail and I thought of making and selling aromatherapy for dogs. I talked with the manager and he said that it was a very good idea. Especially the town that we live in. People would most definitely go for it. He wants me to make samples and business cards. But the one thing tha I need to know is if I need to get a business license for this or if there is a way that i can merge with their business so it d basically be under their name but I of course will be making everything. How would I go about doing this?

Make sure you have a good number of actual customers who say that yes, they would purchase this, and at what price. You can t assume that just because you think something is a good idea that other people would definitely think so too and want to pay for it. Samples are risky because there s no shortage of consumers who will show an interest in something as long as it s free. With that out of the way, if I were your friend and determined to introduce my own line, I would want a small quantity for the business s use to include in a service package where I can charge for time and not just a markup on the hard product. Then, if that package were popular, I might consider making the product available for retail sale. This also delays issues like packaging until there s a good reason to resolve them and some money to spend on it. On the other hand, there seems to be enough manufacturers already that he can just buy the stuff wholesale and have it on the shelves in a week. Now, if you two go ahead as originally planned, then you should give him a price for the cards (and whether that includes printing or just the design), and the samples after researching your total costs in producing and packaging them. It goes on his books as a professional fee and you report the income on your personal tax return in the spring. Or he can hire you temporarily, have the business cover the hard costs, and pay you for the soft services like design and getting the product into little bottles.

I m searching online data entry work.? -

from where i get online work. which co.provide online works n how it worksis it fully secure job.

You need to send your resume out to real jobs you are qualified to do. In your cover letter you need to state that you wish to work remotely, from your home office. LOTS of companies, especially in CA operate this way. They usually provide transportation for you to come in for an interview and for you to attend company meetings a few times a year, but otherwise everything is done online.

Dont know much about it, but there is someone I found in Chennai, a retired Govt Official, he was cheated and he complained a lot, I wonder how it is possible to get a job of 25000/- without going to office or hard work, world would have been a nice place if it was real, try some luck if you find any...
