Want to buy a restaurant, but I found out the current owner is paying off the Health Inspector! HELP!!!? -

There is a restaurant I want to buy. It is a historic building in the small town where I live and it does need work and restoration. Which is perfectly fine with me. The place isn t for sale, but I am planning on making an offer because the owner doesn t care about the restaurant and because of that the business is struggling. I have a killer plan to turn that around. But my question is, I recently found out that the owner is paying off the Inspector to keep their restaurant open. How do I proceed? Like I said, I know the building needs work. It is incorporated into my business plan. (Plus since it is a historical building I wanted to use that to my advantage and get a grant or a special loan to restore it.) What do I do about the bribery? Do I tell someone about it? I am going to try and take part in a mentor type program from the local SBA. Do I tell them about it? What about the inspector himself? Can I request not to be inspected by him? What if he purposely fails us because I told on him? Or because I won t continue the bribery? What do I do?

dear Black wid;seems like you are WISHING to be between a rock and a hard spot.interesting.a; temporarily ignore that space. NARC on him with thelocal city DA.b; use your skills and find an out-of-biz restaurant in a stripmall, let me help you take it over andat a distance, watch the inspector thing and your preferred bldgonly those who want to become private eyes walk intothe cooking pot, to use your industry analogues.it will be a challenge to get any new restaurant to make a profitdo not enter this situation with a need to look over your shoulder.YOU could also hire a RE buyer s agent to make an offer on the bldgLATER. I can help you open all the bizs you wish and when you findunique NEGATIVE circumstances at any site, stay away fromit if you don t have plenty of reserve $.

beweare of retaliation just fix the deficiencies and contact the supervisor and request him to inspect it to correct he will give you abatement time to correct he can tell you how to correct or prevent any situation. develop a repora with the supervisor.

what if you buy it and then find out it will cost a fortune to restore and you CAN T get a grant? and what exactly is the health inspector covering up - could that be something else that will cost a fortune to fix? - must be something major to require bribery to keep operating instead of just fixing the problemI would anonymously rat out the health inspector, then step away and wait for the investigation to finish - like you said the building isn t even up for sale - he could be holding onto it for other reasons - I wouldn t put any money into anything until teh health inspection issue is addressed

Well if you have the funds and financing to totally refurbish the building properly up to code, and money to keep it up and build your business -forget the past inspector problem and forge ahead. Just don t give the inspector any reason to find you in violation for anything. You will get a clear inspection before you open I m sure right? If you get a bad inspector just don t pay and file a complaint! Most importantly and I repeat don t give them any excuse to complain about.

Do I still have to pay the final value fee if item doesnt sell on ebay? -

Hello, I was selling a item on ebay but the bidder did not pay, so i posted it another sell listing and it say my account balance i owe $24... Do i have to pay that? If not how can i cancel it and says item did not sell. Please let me know thanks!

Your auction ended with a winner, so you were charged the FVF.The fact they didn t pay didn t change that. You need to file an unpaid item dispute (do NOT use mutually agreed to cancel) to get the FVF credited.

Where can you get capital without any assets banks are a no go and the sba offers little help? -

I have a Business idea that will require about 500,000 to one million and at the moment have no assets no credit and no money? Of course it s impossible but even if i did have lets say good credit and 10,000 dollars it would still be impossible so what to do I want my Business to work so I can be free.Ive heard of angel investors but they want like 40 70% control and only invest in larger companies that have a track record this is insane the world we live in

Unfortunately that is the way it is. Because of all the unsecured loans that have been given out in the past, it has made it very difficult to fine money for businesses today. I own a company that invests into smaller businesses but the main thing I am looking for is, WHEN DO IT GET MONEY BACK. This is what anyone that is willing to invest is looking for. Unfortunately you may have a great idea but if someone has the money, they have the power. It is rear we invest in company do not take at min of 51%, this is protection against my money. On thing your may think of doing, if you are friendly with you bank - ask the bank manager if he knows of any angle investors, not all want an arm and leg - these are people that are willing to invest into things the bank may not be comfortable investing in. (They are usually friends with the bank and tell the bank to send people their way) This is how I started, and how I repay the people that helped me get to where I am today. The money you are asking for - is going towards buying equipment of inventory? Be very careful sending anyone your information or ideas - a confidentiality and nondisclosure should be signed first, even for free advise. Good Luck

We all have great ideas but unlike you, we don t expect someone else to take all the risk if it fails but none of the reward if it works. If your idea is so great, get your parents and friends to loan you the money and pay them a pittance if you are successful but lose all their money if you fail.

No, it s perfectly sane. You just feel entitled. Get over it.

What are the options for an inferior product in an agressive market? -

what some relistic options to stay in business?

Do like most advertisers and turn negatives into positives. Say you just switched to inferior components. Say: New and Improved!

I d say you need to switch to a superior product. Who would want an inferior one? And how would you sell it? For business tips check my blog.

Are you using a virtual fax company for your business? Are you happy? -

Can you share with me who you re using? Did they have local numbers? Cost? Do you ever get indications from customers that faxes were sent and you didn t receive them? Does it seem confidential? Thanks!

I use ringcentral, they offer a local or toll free fax number and are an overall great service, it is cheap, fast and inexpensive. You can check out comparison charts and reviews of the best internet faxing services at http://emailfaxservices.net/ take advantage of the free 30 day trials :)

I am currently using RingCentral fax the cost is good considering the good service they have provided we even upgraded to the full unified virtual communication service . It allows staff to work form home or out of the office with clients and still receive faxes on their blackberries iPhones. They offer free local fax numbers as well as toll-free numbers and vanity numbers as , you can even transfer retain your existing fax number. This has helped us lower our costs with fax lines, paper and toner. The service should be very secure but not sure of the encryption technology used. But it more confidential because faxes go straight to your inbox instead of having confidential faxes siting on the fax machine for anyone to pry.Not sure but other service but try comparing using sites likehttp://fax2emailservices.com/compare-onl

I don t have a business but I use Onesuite Fax service. So far all faxes sent to me were received. Cost for receiving faxes is just $1 month whether you receive a single fax or a thousand faxes. If you intend to send out too, then it s $2.95/month and 2.5c per page for US numbers and 1.9c per page for Canadian numbers. Here s the website - http://www.onesuite.com/products_OneSuit

I m using myFax.com it s around $10 a month. Not sure about local #, i think so, but i got 1800 from them. Send and receive faxes via email or their website. I get my faxes on my iphone and can fax documents back through it

I haven t used one, but several of my clients who don t have landlines have used different ones. If you have a landline already, just get a fax machine, its so much cheaper in the long run. If you are on the road a lot, don t have a landline, and get alot of faxes, it might be worth it. I run my own small business, and for years just had my faxes come through on my home phone. About 6 months ago, I got a new all in one printer, and it didn t have a fax on it. Considered getting one of the virtual fax companies, and realized that I haven t yet had a single person who was unable to send things via email, so I haven t needed it. If my business was dependent on faxes, like a printing company, I would just buy a machine and put it on my home phone again. I do graphic design and small business consulting, and when I deleted my fax number from my business cards, no one was sending faxes anyway. By eliminating the need for a fax machine, I am saving money and paper. As far as security, I do question the online providers somewhat. My husband works for a major phone company, and they do not allow people to send or recieve things on virtual faxes because they do not consider them secure modes of transmission. Check the costs versus the benefits to your specific business. If you sell cars, insurance, or something else that regularly requires faxed documents for signatures, which is better on costs for you? Purchasing a machine, or using online source?

How do employees of small companies get paid in the UK? -

I am setting up a new start up business which will require a couple food servers. Do I pay them cash directly or do I wire it to their bank account? Also how often should they be paid, daily, weekly or montly?

If they are employed by you ie you pay there tax and national insurance then you should pay them 1 week in arears into ther bank account. If they are self employed / casual you can pay them daily or weekly its up to you but i wouldnt pay them monthly if they are casual you may find that they prefer cash on a weekly / daily basis
