How do you start a business? -

I need to make some money for collage plz help me

My friend started a paintball website and had advertising sponsors. You need a big plan in details of what you want out of it and what actions you are going to take to make it bigger/better.visit entrepreneur.com and other sites, read books about it.Lots of paperwork and about 2mo. worth of research if you are asking a broad question like that.

How can I make money blogging? I have lots to say, and also need some extra cash.? -

I have researched this a little bit, but still not sure how to get started. Straight forward answers from experienced bloggers would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!!

How to make money from your blog: 5 tips By Jeff Wuorio Many of the people who write blogs today simply want to share their opinion on something. But then there are the business-minded folks, who have found a way to use blogs, or Web logs, to bring in a little extra cash too.I recently wrote a column detailing how to get a blog up and running to boost your small business. If you re interested in taking it further blogging for bucks, if you will here are five strategies that could turn your blog into a moneymaker.1. Sell advertising. This is likely the most common means of leveraging a blog to generate income. If yours happens to become a well-known blog, or one that is well-received in a particular niche, it s always possible to sell ad space on your own. For lesser-known blogs, services such as Google s AdSense or BlogAds enable bloggers to establish ad programs.AdSense s which lets you select several ads that are consistent with the content of your blog pays you based on how many readers click on the ads for further information. Even better, it s free. BlogAds, on the other hand, hooks bloggers up with would-be advertisers and levies a commission in return for any ad placements that result. The nice thing, too, is that the ads are relatively unobtrusive, says Scott Allen, co-author of The Virtual Handshake: Opening Doors and Closing Deals Online. 2. Help sell others products. Here is another click-through opportunity. Affiliate programs enable your blog to serve as a conduit between readers and online sites offering various goods and services. One popular choice is Amazon.com. If, for instance, you offer book reviews or even just mention a book in passing in your blog, an affiliate program provides a means for your readers to click directly from your blog to Amazon to obtain further information about the book. If they break out the checkbook or charge card, you get paid as well.3. Solicit contributions. Not every blog-related income opportunity involves hawking goods or services. As Blanche DuBois did in A Streetcar Named Desire, consider relying on the kindness of strangers. Ask for contributions. If, for instance, your small-business blog supports a cause or issue in some fashion say you repeatedly mention tax reform, health care or some other topic you can always ask for reader support.Even if you ve attracted a group of regular followers who simply enjoy reading what you have to say, they may be willing to underwrite their loyalty with a little financial help.Programs such as PayPal make it easy to establish a simple on-site contribution collection button. There are lots of worthy cause blogs that would qualify for donations from grateful members of the blog community, says Las Vegas communications consultant Ned Barnett.4. Market your services in your blog. Many people associate blogs exclusively with a cyberspace-based soapbox a place to shout your opinions and little more than that. Granted, blogs are an ideal venue to share your thoughts with others, but don t overlook their capacity to generate new business as well. When appropriate, work in references to what you do and, in turn, what you may be able to offer any would-be client or customer who may be reading your blog. That can spread your opinion and your business moxie at the same time. Instead of short commentaries that begin a dialogue with readers, as many blogs do, I write the equivalent of journal articles that demonstrate my abilities, strategies and perspectives on specific issues, Barnett says. When it resonates, it means money. Since starting this approach, I have generated three new paying clients and brought in about $10,000 on revenue directly attributable to specific blogs. 5. Use a blog to deepen your existing customer relations . Nor does any marketing material inserted in blog content have to be limited to bringing in completely new business. By using a blog to regularly communicate with existing clients as well as other readers, you can take advantage of the opportunity to fully inform them about everything your business does. That may expand your readers understanding of the full scope of your products or services. My blog has helped existing clients determine the range of my skills and services, says Ted Demopoulos of Demopoulos Associates, a Durham, N.H. consulting and training concern. One client who had only used me for training in the past was surprised at my range of expertise and is now using me for a consulting project. Another who only used me on technical projects is now considering me for a more business-oriented project. Good Luck:-)

What is WHSmiths business aims/ objectives? -

I need to know for my Business Studies coursework but i can t find it anywhere :S :( x

Like any business, the aim is to make a profit. To produce low priced goods and sell them off to make a profit. That s why places like Primark (as you ve asked in your earlier questions), go to suppliers in the eastern part of the world where labour is cheap and so are the supplies, andwhen back here in England, they can sell them off cheap too but they make a profit.

Its a business so nothing other than profit DUHHHHH its not a charity

How can I raise money for my study abroad? -

I created a Chipin account and don t know where I could promote it... I can t work while I m here, either. How can I raise $ (my family has already contributed as much as they are able to?)

Unfortunately, your Chipin account is not going to give you the resources you need to study abroad. How much time are we talking about? If more than a year, then you still have time. But if we re talking within the next 6 months, it will be almost impossible to raise the kind of money you needCan you write a blog and monetize your blog using Google Adsense? Even this approach is not foolproof and can take a while to build traffic and get resourcesWhy not a blog where you discuss your goal about studying abroad, and how you are tackling this goal. It has worked for some folks who wants to look for getting a job or getting out of debt, so a tongue-in-cheek approach may work well for you

to make suggestions ut would help if we knew where you are and from and your age would also help because there are so many positions available but most depend on age and vary from place to place

Money is one of the most far-reaching features of life. Don t stop asking this form of questions

How much markup does a clothing retailer use? -

If you own or run a clothing shop, your answer would be really valuable. The clothing that I am selling retails at 45 per polo shirt, I am trying to get an idea of the price you would expect to be able to buy it at.If you could please let me know the size of your store and the minimum order you would expect to make if you were to buy that would be very kind. Thanks

Keystone is the retail markup usually about 120% meaning if bought at ten is retailed at twenty-two. by doing so even a fifty percent markdown makes money. Keystone means 100% over wholesale which is different in most all departments or specialty stores especially where wholesale is greater. In towels and tissues it s between 20 - 30% but clothing it s about 120% plus, I was a buyer for Bullock s Wilshire where I bought stuff for 35 and sold them for 105 with a fifty percent mark down I was making some big profits. Even worse is womens shoes where they buy a ten dollar sandal and sell them for eighty

I have owned and operated a small business, non clothing, but I believe, and hopefuly you will get conformation on this, but I belileve that the larger stores work on a 12 to 17% markup. An educated guess would be that they buy a $45 shirt for about $38. Hope this helps, and look for others in this exact business. Take care.

We want to create a hangout for local teens? -

This is a little hard to explain. My friend and I live in an area where there is very little to do if you re under 21 and even less if you re under 18. We want to open a place where teens can just come and hangout. There would be video games, movies, wifi and we were thinking of selling clothes by designer friends and tickets to concerts in the area as well as food and drinks all night of course. We d like to make it a no cover charge on regular nights but we were thinking of having local bands play shows a few times a week and having maybe a $5-10 cover for those nights. So basically my questions is, has anyone ever done anything like this? What type of space would be best? How do we go about getting started? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

that place sounds so cool

sounds cool. have it close to a popular place like a mall. or maybe near the school so after school they hang out study and stuff. bands are tricky. i wouldnt get bands untill it gets popular enough or else your losing money.

PETITIONFIND SOMEONE WILLING TO SPONSOR THIS

I used to go to a place like this when I was a teenager. They had live bands all the time. A lot of the bands were garage style and made up of high schoolers or college age members. There were also snacks and a star bucks like assortment of coffee and espresso drinks. You will need to look up what type of permits are required and how to meet he fire code etc. I would think your best bet would be the cheapest place you can lease for an affordable price. The one I went to was in a down town area.

I want to give away free money every week...? -

I know that to run a lottery website you have to have a license pay money. But what about many of those other sites that have nothing to do with the lottery but they give away bonus cash prizes every month to a random member of their site. Do you need a license to do something like that yourself? I have many websites currently in development. On at least one my sites I want to have a free weekly or monthly cash prize draw. How would I go about setting that up?

The issue with a lottery website is that it s gambling. With the other websites people aren t paying for a chance to win the prize. Those sites are advertiser supported so gambling laws aren t an issue.

Starting my own computer business... how can I create a legal document for clients to sign....? -

I need some sort of form for clients to sign. It will say that they are responsible for paying for work done on their computer, will not receive their computer until payment is received, and if the computer is not picked up within 30 days, it becomes my property?Something along those lines. I ve had trouble with someone thinking that building their website should not have taken as long as it did (even though it was a 30-page website) and they know absolutely nothing about computers, and someone else has yet to pick up their computer (I ve had it for over a month now).I just need something that will protect me, but also the customer. Thanks!

use legal websites.

Is it normal to come into work with Avon catalogues and expect your co-workers to buy things from you? -

Is it acceptable to make a profit from your colleagues??

It s annoying for people to do this. Just because I work with someone doesn t mean I have to buy something from them. Why do you want to piss people off like that? You really should keep the two separate. Not to be rude but do people actually still buy avon? I thought it was only sold at flea markets anymore. That s the only place I ve seen it for a long time.

My current job would limit you to a sign in the lunch room.At my old job, people would leave the catalogs on a table in either the lunchroom or the ladies room--you would have your name/address/cubicle on the catalog.Actually approaching the coworker and asking them to buy is the biggest no-no.

No. Not only is it not cool, most companies have a policy against it and you can get fired.Just add their names to an e-vite then have them over for an Avon party. But even that is sketchy in the professional world. Ultimately it s a conflict of interest.Sorry.

Am I good enough to open my own bakery? Pics included!? -

I started doing cakes out of my own home about a year ago. I ve gotten a portfolio together on myspace and I was wondering if you guys could check it out and tell me what you think of the cakes. Maybe tell me which one is your favorite least favorite?I really appreciate it. I want opinions outside of friends/familyThank you!http://www.myspace.com/katiezcakes

One word sums up my feelings: Wow! You definitely have what it takes to open your own bakery, as far as talent and imagination goes. Though we can t taste your cakes, they look yummy and I bet they are delicious by the pictures and going by the expressions on those two cake eater s faces. lol! It is very hard to pick a favorite because they are all so awesome, unique an beautiful. I thought the guitar and Chevy were both cute and cool. Some of the other ones had a lot of detail, too, like the Baptism cake, Poetry cake, and sports cakes. The wedding cake was gorgeous. Hard to believe that s your first wedding cake! The cherries cake was very original. Honestly, I don t have a least favorite. I love them all! You go, girl! = )

Thank you very much for your your time and praise. I like to think I do a good job I appreciate all your answers very much! Report Abuse

WOW, you re so talented! Congrats on starting your own business, I think you re going to do really well. With all the publicity artistic wedding cakes are getting these days, you re definitely in the game of supplying what everyone wants. It s essential that you advertise any and everywhere humanly possible and have cakes that taste as good as they look. I ve had a bad experience with that, ordered a beautiful cake from a bakery in NYC only to have it taste horrible!I especially like your gone fishin and pirate themed cakes. I wasn t too crazy about the toothbrush though. Everything else was great. One more piece of advice, the icing handwriting could use a little work, with such awesome cakes I would expect superb calligraphy and such. I m sure a little more practice would make you a pro.Good luck with the business!!

Well I like your cakes. Can t say I have a favorite or a least favorite though...This is what you need to figure out...How many people are buying your cakes a month? What are your cakes going for? What is your income a month for doing cakes? Is the amount of orders you are getting outgrowing your house? Do you NEED a bakery or is it more of a want?Is that enough money to pay for the costs it will incur to have an actual bakery? It is becoming more and more common for people to run businesses out of their home and online because it is a lot less overhead than to have an actual location. You can always have an actual website, do deliveries, etc. all from your home so that you don t have the extra overhead.Once you outgrow your kitchen because the demand is so high, thats when I would look into getting a small bakery. You don t want to get too far ahead of yourself, and things not work out! Good things take time and patience-keep that in mind!Overall, I think that your cakes look great and you will succeed at whatever you decide.

Your cakes are Amazing , you can get lots of orders with these types of cakes .

My server will not allow me the pleasure of viewing your samples, but if Mr. Cacciatore says they are awesome, then I give you my vote.

Oh, my. Looking at those pics, for me, is the biggest turnon a woman has ever given me via the Internet. Drooling!Mmmm!

Yes you do amazing work. I would hire you.

Costumer cancel contract after 2 months? 10 points for best answer!!!!? -

My Mom and Dad own a small plumbing company ,they have a costumer that approved and signed work that needs to be done for a restaurant,he gave a deposit that way my dad can purchase material after everything was agreed (he changed his mind many times of what he wants) 2months later he decided he didn t want any work to be done and he wants his money back (the deposit to be returned) which is ok we told him we have to deduct about 5% because my dad already purchased material and he took time to travel to his location several times,The customer is now harassing over the phone and he wrote harassing letters we explain him we will take care of it ,but he wants the full amount back after he back up from a contract what can my mom and dad do?

Well hopefully you had something in the contract that included a penalty for backing out of the contract. If you did not, or if the contract specified that you would give a full refund on cancellation, then you are pretty much screwed. Either way, if you ask for the 5%, you are going to have a really angry customer. If you have it in writing, at least you will have the contractual authority to do it though. If you do not, you might just have to eat the cost and try to recover some of the price of the material.

I agree with Christian Brown. If there is a clause in the contract governing the cancellation or early termination of the contract, then you are okay. If not (put one in for future cases), them you may own the customer a full refund.

this is why your mom and dad should have the customer sign a contract with your mom and dad before anything is done. if you don t do it this way then things like this will happen, you might want to tell your parents to seek legal counsel to solve this problem. I know of a company that will help you in this situation. i can give you the details but not here. I don;t want to be accused of violating yahoo s answer policies./ but you can connect to me at jim_tru@yahoo.com this 37 yr old company is amazing and has solved alot of problems like yours./ but it is up to you
