Novelists Only, Can you use real company, studio-es, and organizations names in novels? -

In my novel I want to use real car companies and real university names. Without getting suedThere is miss spelling in my question due to me rushing to do something else.

You can. Unless and until it maligns or defame them. It is better to get the approval from the authorities concerned, for we won t face any problem, at the time of publication or after the release of the novel.mmmmm......Which country are you from? May be it differ in your country.

Generally, it is not a good idea to use real company names. You very well may have no problem from the company, but if they do complain, you may have to pull all the books off the market or get sued.Universities are a little different, but whether you could use their name depends on the situation, how you portray the school and so forth.

Hi i need help with start as self employed? -

I m currently on income support and i would like to start my own businesses. i m unsure on when do i need to register has self employed ,is it when i have my 1st client or when i start the market campaign and research for the business?also will i have to pay tax if the amount i make is less than 5000 a year?thank you

You make the declaration of self employment to HMRC when you sign off income support. If you remain on income support and declare your earnings against your benefits then you do not need to declare the business to HMRC. The amount of tax you will eventually pay is dependent upon the profitability of the business. The reassurance you have is that you will pay no tax for two years. In year three you pay the tax for year one and so on. Use the first two years to build up the business. Keep accurate records regarding purchases, sales and expenses. This will save you a fortune later on. When you become liable for tax in year three engage an accountant to formalise your return. These people are worth their weight in gold! Remember to keep your NI payments up to date and good luck!

Gordon is right - you would need to register as self-employed as soon as you come off income support. Make sure that you have a good, solid business plan before you do this. You will not pay tax on earnings less than your tax allowance, which is over 6000, but you will have NI contributions to make and business overheads to meet, so you will need a bit of money behind you before you start.

I am only 90% sure, but i think that if you are spending (or tell them you are) less than 16 hours per week on your new project, then you can continue claiming benefits. I would definately check up on this, but i think I m right.Good Luck.

Where can i find websites or contacts for information/places to apply for graduate jobs in China? -

Im a 20 year old UK student working in Madrid at present but I intend to work in China for my graduate year if not a permanent position, so I need to know who is best to contact, what requirements are needed from me and just any advice would be really appreciated! Thanks JD

It depends on what kinds of jobs you want. If you are only want to spend a few months in China, I think the language training school is a good choice, like the Mew Oriental. If you can speak Chinese fluently, you can find some internship here. By the way, are you planning to study while work as well? Then, this could be a different story. I am a Chinese student in college myself. So, if you can give me information about you and your plan, I can give you more help. You can e-mail me your problem.
