19 years old and my own bussiness? -

Hiii :)I would like to know your opinions please 3 ...So Im in college right now, one more semester and im done with my Associates Degree in Journalism/Public Relations, it seems like theres no job in the PR area ( where I live ) , right now i cant move to another city or town, but later I know i could... I would like to start my own little bussiness about what I love : photography. I want to do some photography ( like for schools, portraits, birthdays, parties, etc... ) but i dont know how to start, i also was thinking about take another 2 years at college majoring photography to get some more knowledge, buut i also want to finish my bachelor, soo is like i want to have my own bussiness in photography and creating videos for birthdays, weddings, activities, while i finish my bachelor in marketing/advertising... I know I can do it, but is like I dont have the money or resources to start =\ ... I wanted to make bussiness cards and delivery to restaurants, small bussiness, offices, newspapers, schools, church, etc then people would recognize my services.... I dont know if you get my point :P ... please give ur opinions,and if there is someone who did this before or is doing it, it will be more helpful for me... thanks!! :)

Good luck to you! I think this is a great idea! I have not done photography but I started my own business teaching music when I couldn t find any other jobs. Your idea about business cards and so forth is great. Definitely do that. I would make up some flyers and post them anywhere you can like coffee shops, schools, anyplace with kids, bridal shops, etc. Depending on where you post your flyer, you can focus on a specific service such as birthdays. You might consider offering a discount or at least advertise great rates for a starting photographer. Maye say something like, YOU WORKED HARD TO GIVE HIM/HER THE BEST BIRTHDAY PARTY EVER. NOW MAKE IT MEMORABLE! Photographer available for professional shots of your child s special moment. Fantastic rates!..etc. What about talking to your local recreation center - parks and recreation - to see if they would like to offer holiday pictures. You could set up a camera on a Saturday with a background of some sort and take pictures for five or ten dollars. This could help you promote your photograpy business and it may bring lots of people to meet you. Even better, if you could find a good Santa Claus to put in your pictures, you would attract a lot of people. Hope this helps. I m starting to fall asleep!! Good luck!

There are no grants available to individuals for business start-up. The only grant site you should ever trust is grants.gov. You can read about what types are available on that site.

I m not sure if there are grants you can get to start your own business. My first suggestion would be to check out The Small Business Administration (http://www.sba.gov/). This site is typically one of the first sites those individuals who are thinking about starting their own business turn too. sold me a chair, then a day later i found out that he over charged me and cancelled the transaction, then on the 3rd day I found out that the salesman s licence had expired on the day he sold me the chair. Is the chair mine for free? or can I still barder with him to lower his price?

You need to deal with the company.

Whether or not he had a license is irrelevant. You bought it then you cancelled, remember? The chair has to be returned...and it s BARTER.

(High traffic location is a must for clothing business).. what will be your specialty ?? adult / females/ males/ or everything ??.. it will cost you alot much if you get everything at once as a start.. and you would not have the nice variety for each devision you want .. If you are looking to sell Adult and young people, clothes and Shoes.... you are looking for $70,000.00 at least to make a decent start, and decent startup push profit.. or customers base.. If you look for specialty first , as women clothes, or men, or kids, it would be better to concentrate and make good name for your start, with less money damage if it turns out to be something else. plus the rest of the other $75,000 you would save for back-up plan, advertisment, etc.... there is many places.. yet the quality, and the shipping prices will make the difference.. what you will need to think before start :- 1- Location, Location, Location.............. high traffic with $5,000.00 better than away location with $1,000.00 rent, etc... 2- what will be your basic main customers ?? Young adults?? teens ?? working women ?? etc..... 3- You look for everything to have at once is very bad for your budget, (Except if you have at least $150,000.00 ) yes i m serious.. You can start small (Not actually small) with $30,000 and you specified only with women trendy clothes you will have a decent collection which can cover a store of (3000 feet / 1000 Meters).. I ve had a few people ask me if I could paint their pet s name on a dog dish, along with maybe some designs and a small avatar of the pet on it. I was wondering, where could I buy some plain pet dishes that I could personalize and then sell them? Is it even legal to do that? Any tips would be great. :)

I m in my college s new Eco club..And we haven t done too well in our last couple of fund raising attempts.. Maybe you could sell seedlings in milk carton halves. Just buy an entire packet of seeds...sunflower, native plant, which ever, and then sell them once they start to sprout.
