Should i start my own business? -

i have been thinking of starting my own business for a few years. i am basically not happy in any job i get and i have always believed that i would be happier if i had my own business. i am not planning on anything large. i was thinking of starting either a gardening / lawn mowing business or possibly some other type of service i can offer people suck as painting etc. would starting this type of business be a bad idea? how do i get started? thank you!

Explore all the possibilities before picking one.Lawn maintenance and painting are both very labor intensive. How old are you? Are you physically able to do it?Lawn maintenance is also seasonal. It s o.k. to start a seasonal business as long as you know what you will you do during the off season. Have a backup plan.Once you decide on a business, you ll have to develop a marketing plan. That sounds complicated but it s actually very simple. It just requires some thought. For instance, I found the lawn service I use through an ad the owner of the service runs in a free newspaper we have around here called The Pennysaver. This is where everybody looks when they need something done around the house or yard.This inexpensive ad is pretty much Jason s (the guy who cuts my lawn) whole marketing campaign. When business slows down in the fall, he has a card he sends around to his list of customers reminding them that he s available to do any hedge trimming, etc that they might need before winter. This worked a little too well this year and he got swamped will calls. Next year he plans to only send out half the cards at one time.This is just one example of how simple, inexpensive and effective a marketing plan can be. Yet this is where most new business owners fail. Lack of marketing.If you take the time to choose the right business for you and then market it effectively, you will surely succeed.

Unfortunately, the only that can earn money in those online games is boring as heck: it s known as gold farming . Basically, you do the drudge work, build up a huge cache of whatever commodity in the game is worth a lot, then sell that offline for real $$$. I just read in AARP magazine that there are on line tutors for getting the older folks up and going with games - so they can compete with the grand kids. I do not have the web sites but perhaps you could search for that yourself. That is about as close as you will come to getting paid to play.

You need to send your resume out to real jobs you are qualified to do. In your cover letter you need to state that you wish to work remotely, from your home office. LOTS of companies, especially in CA operate this way. They usually provide transportation for you to come in for an interview and for you to attend company meetings a few times a year, but otherwise everything is done online
