Avon Vs. Mary Kay. Which is better to sell? -

I m thinking about selling Avon or Mary Kay, but not sure which one to do. I ve used both products and like them both. If you sell any of them let me know your opinion, The pros and cons, start up cost stuff like that.

Please think before you join either. Both Avon and Mary Kay are Multi-level marketing companies (MLMs). Statistics show that 99% of women lose money in all MLMs. I used to sell Mary Kay myself and I have a mother in law who tries to sell Avon. I guess the worst of the two evils is Mary Kay. I say that because for the following reasons:1. A Mary Kay Lady will tell you that you only need $100 for a starter kit. This is true, however in the days following signing your agreement you will be strongly encouraged, manipulated, guilt tripped in any way possible to buy a large inventory package. This is where women get themselves in trouble, and wind up putting thousands on a credit card. You don t have to buy the inventory but the shipping cost for lots of small shipment will severely cut into your profit. Beware--recruiters will do whatever it takes to get you to buy that package. They make a commission! 2. It takes a lot of time to make any money. Don t expect to get rich. It sounds great because you make 50% of whatever you sell right? Say you sold a $100 order to a customer at a home party. You would get $50. That means in order to make $20,000 a year you would have to find 400 people to buy $100 of product. From personal experience this is very difficult. Most people aren t willing to buy $100, and you begin to run out of people to sell to. The way Mary Kay would recommend getting over this is talking to strangers in grocery stores, malls, and anywhere you go. The market is saturated with people desperately trying to sell these products. Besides...20,000 is hardly enough to quit your job over.3. Since Mary Kay does its business through parties. You would have to go to hundreds of woman s home in a year! Mary Kay promises you will get to spend more time with your family and spend time at home. This does not happen because you will be at people s homes, Mary Kay meetings every week, or prowling the mall looking for people to sell to/recruit.4. You only can make a good amount of money by convincing others to sell Mary Kay too. Actually you can only make money if they buy inventory so you can make commission. This means you have to convince all your friends, family and coworkers to sign up and put thousands on their credit cards for inventory they probably won t sell very much of. I m sure a lot of people will disagree with what I ve just said. Some pf them will claim their life is fantastic because of the Mary Kay way. But if you need more proof go to http://www.pinktruth.com/ There you will find lots of women burned by the Mary Kay industry. These women include professionals, and people who worked hard at selling but still got the short end of the stick. As for Avon, I can t say from personal experience what it is like. They don t make you buy inventory, or guilt trip like Mary Kay does. I know that you probably wont make a ton of money.Best of luck!!!Edit:: People may offer you more information in their answers. It may be a way to get you to sign up under them in order to make a commission. Just be careful! =)

I wouldn t do either one because both have way too many reps to compete against for business. I would look around for a company that is newer, has fewer reps and is more up to date with the current trends. I would look for products that are made from natural ingredients, green (made from renewable resources like plant based oils instead of petroleum-based) doesn t do animal testing of products, etc.I d also take a look at all of the fine print and look at the costs, compensation plan (profit margin) and sales or purchase quotas to keep active status or to be able to earn the maximum profit margin.Good luck!

Hello, I sell Avon and my neighbor sells Mary Kay. Avon costs $10 to start which includes everythig you need to get your business started.Mary Kay is way more expensive to start. Avon products are also more affordable for customers. If this has helped you at all and you are interested in starting Avon. Contact me at sherine4avon@gmail.com and I can get you signed up with a rep in your area who will be your mentor throughout your avon career. Good luck in whatever you chose.

I think Avon is better because of the economy Avon s prices seem to most reasonable at this time.It s also only $20 to join online and Avon mails the kit directly to your house.Customers aren t spending as much as they used to but they also seem to have the money to purchase Avon products which aren t expensive at all.Personally for me it definitely has been worth while. I was laid off a month ago and this is my only source of income. I have been able to bring home about $300 every 2 weeks is just a start since I am now full time looking to increase that income. If you are interested in signing yourself up online just visit http://www.start.youravon.com and use reference code lynettebledsoeIf you have any more questions please feel free to email me directly

I have not been with either company, but am in direct sales. As far as companies go I like Mary Kay better. Mainly just because I like the founder and her story.Avon has a wider variety of products.

Can I sell my blood for cash? -

Some blood banks will give you cash for it (at least where I live they do).

Believe it or not you can donate plasma for cash, but not blood though. But talk to a real vampire (not any fruitloops like onTwilight, lol jk) and they will give you a free trip to heaven for a donation!

mmm, so, that s why you want to stab yourself? please don t do it, just go to those places you donate

Sometimes you are able to do that yes, however, often times you simply donate blood.

not blood, but plasma you can!

yes ; yes can

i think so.goodluck?

A business loan website run by philanthropists? -

A couple years ago I was trying to figure out how business loans work. I came across a website where borrowers would tell their story about why they needed the money (their business plan) and philanthropists would be able to look at all the borrowers and decide who they thought would be a good bet to loan money to. All the lenders were private individuals, not banks.Does this sound familiar to anyone? I cannot remember the name of the website, and I d like to find it again. Thanks!

it is either a misunderstanding; a philanthropy gives away money, it does not lend.if you wish to learn about biz, email me and I can guide you

Is Cash Gifting illegal? If so, is there any instance where it can work legally? -

I ve looked all over the internet and there are tons of websites that say it is legal, and tons of them that say it is illegal. I know you can send someone cash as a gift(up to $12,000 a year per person), and the IRS doesn t care how you make money as long as they get their taxes from it. So if a cash gifting company has a 1-up or 2-up, I m assuming it is illegal due to the fact that there is no product you are selling when marketing and trying to find people, or that you are trying to get people to sign-up to send you money? If you had a cash gifting site and you did NOT advertise or try to recruit people to send you cash, wouldn t it be considered legal? Or if you had a product or products that people would get when they sent a cash gift would that work? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would just like to know what you would have to do to make a cash gifting program 100% legal? Thanks in advance.

It is completely legal to gift cash.It s is completely illegal to run ponzi schemes (which is what you seem to be trying to set up).A gift is something someone gives of the own accord, without incentive, to a value of their own choosing and without expecting anything in return. If your scheme fails even one of those tests then the payments are not gifts. There are a lot of legal ways of making money. Stick to those.

I am not trying to set-up a ponzi scheme. I was just wondering if there was a way that a person could do it legally. If it is 100% illegal no matter what the circumstances, I understand. I just didn t know if you could do it legitimately and legally or not. Report Abuse

You re asking how to commit a conspiracy to disguise a felony crime. That s not legal, either.Cash gifting is the illegal sale of unregistered securities, according to one Supreme Court decision, and money laundering according to another.

How many calls will you need to make to hit your sales target for the month?rdquo;? -

Depends on what you are selling and what kind of people you get in touch with. Ask around your company who the top producer is, and ask for advice. Never feel too proud to ask for help.

4 or 5

It always a number of game of 80/20 ! If will always get 20 sales with another 80 free calls ! Keep Busy !

Why do I need a license to rent an industrial space? -

I will be renting an industrial unit for my business, but the estate agent is charging me for a license in addition to the lease. Can someone tell me why I need a license to rent a property?

Simple answer is to ask the estate agent as he is the best one to give the correct reason.

You dont need a licence unless you are being given a licence to occupy for a period of time prior to the start of the lease and this is a separate document. In some instances, if a landlord is prepared to give a rent free period but doesn t want it to affect the averaging out of the rental value they will give a licence to occupy untill you have fitted out or whatever then charge full rent for the rest of the duration of the lease. EG instead of 1 month rent free on a 12 month lease = 11 months rent, they give a licence for 1 month, then give a lease for 12 months at full rent. This means when investors or surveyors are analysing the rental values, they only see the 12 months at the full rent. This is the only circumstance in which the letting agant may be charging you for both. Hope this helps.

Ask them - we rent a number of commercial premises and have never done that, but serious industry might be different.
