How do i establish a night club? -

Rio - Set aside the nightclub idea just long enough to find out what it takes to set up and maintain a public place. Start by going to the Building Inspector s Office, the Fire Marshall s Office and then to the local Health Department. After that, visit an insurance company and discuss what kind of coverage you will need and what that will cost. Then go to the zoning office so you know where you can do this. Lastly, visit the City Police or Sheriff s Office and ask what they re expectations are for security. Still interested? Do a market analysis, a business plan and a finance plan. You can get some free help with those through local business volunteers. Before you buy, lease or rent any property, before you contract with anyone for any reason and before you seek funding for your enterprise - get a lawyer who specializes in business set-ups AND the services of a CPA.. Good luck.I forgot license to sell beer and/or liquor. Put that as number one thing to research. The cost and requirements may slam the door real fast.

lease a building in the cityget lisenced and register under the cityyou have allot of paperwork on your handsgood luck! give me a free pass when youre up and running :)

What are some ways that a new start-up or small business can use social networks to grow their business? -

Every big company is on Facebook and Twitter (etc). What are some ways that a small business owner use the power of these social networks to help get their business off of the ground and growing (without paying consulting firms a fortune to manage a free Facebook page)?

Coley, you re instincts are correct that you can take advantage of social networking sites to build your business without hiring a consultant. The beauty of these tools is that they are free (at least for now) and work best when used by real people who are using them to connect with other like-minded real people. Here are a few ideas to get you started. FacebookStart a fan page. This article by Katie Hellmuth Martin will walk you through how it s done: http://thatitgirl.blogspot.com/2008/04/hSpread the word about your Facebook page. Talk about your new page at every opportunity. Include it as part of your email signature. Link to it on your company s website. Send out an online newsletter to your customer list announcing the new page, perhaps offering a coupon or some other promotion to those who visit and do something like leave a comment on your Facebook wall. Tell all your personal friends on Facebook about your business s new page and invite them to become fans. Encourage people to share your content. Consider posting things your fans might want to share on their walls; each time that happens, it will send more visitors back to your page. I posted a slideshow on the world s ugliest buildings from Travel + Leisure s page on my Facebook wall because it was amusing. That s just the kind of thing that gets people talking and going to check out the rest of Travel + Leisure s page.Make it useful or fun to visit your page. If you sell gourmet foods, offer recipes on the page. If you sell athletic gear, post advice about fitness and nutrition. Better yet, create a program for people wanting to monitor their diet or exercise routine; they ll need to return to the page every time they update it. If you re an interior designer, publish before and after shots of rooms you ve furnished. Make it interactive by asking people to vote on ideas to complete a room. You get the idea.TwitterAt first, using Twitter feels a lot like talking into a empty room. But if you use Twitter properly, you will soon be having conversations with customers, potential customers, the media and all kinds of people that can be helpful to your business. This guide for Twitter - http://business.twitter.com/twitter101 - written for the company by Twitter expert Sarah Milstein (co-author of The Twitter Book), gives way smarter advice than I could ever give you. Pay particular attention to the case studies and the best practices. One thing about social media -- people using it love to give and read advice about ways to do it better. Start reading blogs like Mashable.com and Ducttapemarketing.com, and follow industry leaders like Chris Brogan (www.chrisbrogan.com).

I have recently created an application to help trades people (carpenters;hair dressers; carpet cleaners; builders; etc) take advantage of facebook to grow there business. The application is iPhone based and very simple to use. Check out www.shakeforcharity/reference_ for more details. Report Abuse

What is the best POS system for a small resale shop? -

If it s small, do you really NEED a POS system? Perhaps all you need is a good inventory book and a cash register.EDIT: Have you LOOKED at how much a QuickBooks POS system costs? Basic with hardware is about $1250!! (search through Yahoo or Froogle and see for yourself). That doesn t even include the setup fee if you hire someone to do it, or the time you must spend to train yourself. Frankly, unless you can actually JUSTIFY such an expenditure, I d say forget it. You can computerize SOME of the operation, like accounting (in which case, just QuickBooks is enough), but I don t see why you d need a POS system for a one-person shop (or even a three-person shop).

Get Quickbooks POS by Dell or am HP see link below. Quickbooks POS is a must if you what access to report data and monthly, yearly reports and makes financial statement simpler. You can also barcode your inventory and have access to credit card, Debit cards and gift cards. Good luck

none.use a used cash register and keep little in it.

How to start a business? -

Hey guys i want to start a business, but i have no clue wat to do. I have heard abt consultancy. So can someone guide me plz.

first you want to make a business plan...

You noted you have no clue what to do.If you are IT literate - you might want to consider setting up an IT Training Business. Training people on the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and other Software Packages)To minimize costs, you will do the Training on site. E,g Training Centres or Organisations (that have training facilities for their staff) This significantly reduces set up costs. (No Training centre to rent, no computers to buy) There is still a big market for peole who are learning IT - Some just trying to get into jobs, some need refresher training.I set up my small IT Training Business in 2001 and I m still running it now part-time. See link below on how I started it with minimal cost.If I knew what you were good at, I could suggest other ideas.Best Wishes

Step 1: Think what you can sell and what will be your target market.Step 2: Name your businessStep 3: Make a business planStep 4: Develop a logo and a websiteStep 5:Develop a marketing planStep 6:Start marketing and selling.

Find the business in demand. And do it. Don t worry about competition, all you have to do is do a better job.

What is the basic requirement for starting small business? -

What is the basic requirement for starting small business?

hello there,Planning a budget is good, but not all you need to do. You should have a full business plan.Have you covered all ot these items? Do you have all the permits (city, county, state and federal) that will be required of this type of business. Do you have your state and federal taxpayer id numbers. If you will be handling sales tax, do you have your account set up with the state. If you have employees, are you set up for handling the federal and state employment taxes. What bank do you plan to use as your depository for the federal payroll taxes. Have you checked to make certain that particular bank does perform that service. Do you have your account set up with your state unemployment department. Have you obtained your business liability insurance with sufficient coverage to protect you against the risks. Have you obtained your workman s comp. insurance. Will you be operating as a business entity, such as a corporation or limited liability company. to give you some limit to your financial exposure. If not, are you certain you do not need that protection. If you have set up an entity, is it all in order. You will be relying on this to protect your personal assets from business creditors; it must be in proper order. If it is a do it yourself or an on-line job, it may be worth less than you paid for when it comes time to protect you. Given your projected budget, do you have adequate capital resources available to carry the business for a period of months. Have you fully analyzed the projected receivables turn and are confident you have enough working capital to start with to carry the business. Have you done your research on viable forms of marketing or advertising. What sort of contingency plans do you have in case the first few months do not go as you expected. Without that, you could find yourself out of business before you really get a good start. Do you have your accounting system in place. Just a few things that pop to mind, not intended as a complete well thought out list.Later,

1. A well thought out business plan incorporating expenditure sales forecasts2. A cash low plan as cash flow is the cause of many business failures.3. Vision, drive, business acumen all the right capabilities in terms of personnel resources required the succesfull and professional running of the business.

In its simplest form, You need knowledge of your niche or industry, Adequate Capitol, and a will to succeed. Its impossible to get really detailed as every business and industry is different. If your starting a business online you might want to checkout http://www.ecomdegree.com

In the current marketing Tech-Boom, are business cards considered ineffective?? -

I sell video games/systems and have been trying to figure out the best way to market myself.

You can print business cards for free.

You could list your website on the business card. Also, have you tried hosting video game tournaments? Like Guitar Hero/Rock Band nights, Halo nights, COD nights, etc.Or contacting local schools (high schools and colleges) and offer to sponsor something or advertise in their sports programs (programs, in this case, meaning the printed guides they hand out/sell during games)? It all depends on how big your marketing budget is.Good Luck!

I ve owned a successful internet company for the last 12 years.I never once used a business card.BUT....It wouldn t hurt to print some up. You can probably get 500 for $20Your best marketing strategy would be to make sure your website shows up on Google and Yahoo.

i think people still look at business cards. put as much info as you can on them, phone no/website etc. vistaprint usually have some good offers on, not sure if its just for the UK though.

The second someone asks you for a business card and you don t have one, you ll know the answer.
