How to open an animal shelter? -

So i am a huge animal lover. I myself have 3 cats, a dog and two rats. It is my dream to open my own shelter to help adopt out animals who deserve second chances. I don t know too much about starting a shelter but I do volunteer at my local humane society. The shelter I volunteer gets their pet mostly from owner surrender. At any one time they can have, just cats, up to 300. Then add in the dogs and small animals. Now they each need $25 for food and toys for each individual. Most states require you have to spay/neuter all adopted pet, so you would need a vet and a vet tech. If you take volunteers, this is what I do, they can take cats or dog home with them for a few weeks so the can heal/recover away from other sick animals. Most of the cats that get sick at shelters get URI (upper respiratory infection), these cat get daily meds., so you would also have to buy those, and their foster parents administer the meds.Just a few random things I can remember right now. The check register on Quickbooks is supposed to mimic what is happening with your real life bank account. As far as suggesting items I m afraid I can t be much help. Us guys usually aren t into stuff like that. That could be a viable way to create income. They key is how well you market it though. That is the key. You could have the best products in the world, but if people don t know about them and where to buy them nothing else matters. Well hopefully you had something in the contract that included a penalty for backing out of the contract. If you did not, or if the contract specified that you would give a full refund on cancellation, then you are pretty much screwed. Either way, if you ask for the 5%, you are going to have a really angry customer. If you have it in writing, at least you will have the contractual authority to do it though. If you do not, you might just have to eat the cost and try to recover some of the price of the material.

I agree with Christian Brown. If there is a clause in the contract governing the cancellation or early termination of the contract, then you are okay. If not (put one in for future cases), them you may own the customer a full refund.

this is why your mom and dad should have the customer sign a contract with your mom and dad before anything is done. if you don t do it this way then things like this will happen, you might want to tell your parents to seek legal counsel to solve this problem. Give four reasons why people set up their own businesses.* I d like to say the 4 reasons are MONEY MONEY MONEY AND MONEY. If you re not in it for the money then why are you in it?4. What help do banks provide to new business start-ups?* In these economic times, banks provide very little to most new business start-ups. They want to see on paper, not only your business plans, but your prior success and failures... and how you capitalized on those failures, turning them around.5. What help might the government provide to start-ups?* Plenty. From Small Business Administration training programs, which I failed to take advantage of when I first started out 10 years ago, to SBA loans that most banks would not dare extend, for starters.6. Explain three problems a start-up is likely to face.* The economy.* mismanagement and inexperience * lack of planning and lack of a business plan* inability to adapt and survive in this economy.
