Where to sell? (Amazon, Ebay, Play.com)? -

I m looking to get a bit of extra cash by selling some of my text books i no longer need. And I was looking for some advice on where would be the best place to sell them. I have bought things from amazon and play and i m logged in there but i ve never touched ebay. I just want to find the simplest way to sell. Thanks in advance.

Hi thereAmazon is the fastest and the easiest. Just type in the 10 digit book code. You do not have to go to all the bother of photographing the book , uploading it etc. The postage is set and if you have some books which do not weigh much you can make a little extra profit here. Good luck!

Amazon specialises more in books. However, since you don t have any previous selling record, this might be an issue.eBay has an advanatge of a very large customer base. The disadvantage is obviously the cost they charge. And you must have PayPal account to receive money as well.

Hi there,I think the best way to sell your books is on ebay. I sold some text books before, and it went well..and It is free and easy to register, simple to use..Good luck!http://nosalessystemnet.blogspot.com/

I would recommend you Ebay

amazon

How can you go about opening a coffee shop? -

What would be the requirements.

Licensing requirements for a coffee shop business will vary by location. That said, here is a general idea of licensing requirements you can expect.- General business license- Building permit (if you plan to do construction) or zoning permit (if you are developing land for business use)- Health permit- Occupational permit (often for home-based businesses)- Signage permit- A sidewalk cafe generally needs a sidewalk cafe permitThere are also employment and insurance requirements, which you can also get information on at the Business.gov website. If you want to get an idea of insurance cost before you speak with an agent, you can get free business insurance quotes online for your particular business in your state online. If you want more specifics on starting a coffee shop, you can sometimes find a book in your local library or bookstore explaining what to do step-by-step. It s also a good way to find equipment and supply resources for your business.

Federally trademarked business name controversy? -

I own an operate a business in California. Recently, I was contacted by a lady in Ohio who claims her business name (which is the same as mine) is federally trademarked, and threatened to have state and federal enforcement order me to cease and desist the operation of my business. Although the business name is the same, and the scope of the business revolves around pets, but the services offered are much different. Now this lady has posted something on the internet about me that may damage my business, but I ve done nothing wrong. I just don t understand why it would make a difference if we have the same business names, because we re in 2 different states. Someone please shed some light...I have also contacted the other businesses with the same name, and it appears this lady in Ohio is singling me out. She has contacted the other businesses but I am the only one she has slandered on the internet. How can I have the slander page removed from the internet?

I ve been trying to get a trademark for a clothing company for about 3 years. I m no expert but I have learned a little bit along the way. When you file a trademark, you specify specifically what the trademark is for. This is public records (www.uspto.gov). If she didn t include what you do, I don t think she can claim a trademark on it. Remember, if it went to count it would be subjective so you never know what the court would decide. Here is the contact info for my trademark attorney. She is located in downtown LA.http://www.buchalter.com/bt/index.php?ac- for the work/advice she has done for me, I consider her fees very reasonable.Good luck!!FYI - she has nothing to do with why my trademark hasn t gone through.

1. Do not use the link in the other answer- Spam or Malware?2. Do some research - contact the US Patent and TradeMark Office and determine if they really have the trademark confirmed, or just applied for. A Trademark has a significant time requirement before it can be legally defended, different from a Patent or Copyright.3. Get an attorney!

1-the services you offer are irrelevant2-trademarks are national - not state related3-if she had the name first and trademarked it - you have to change your name or deal with the legal ramifications - which will require you to change you name anyway and may also cost you legal fees

Why do employers always get penalised in every way? -

I have an employee at the moment who has been very rude in how she addresses me on two occassions. For me to discipline her I have to write to her first to advise of a meeting that might lead to disciplinary action and she has to be given sufficient time to prepare for the meeting and she can bring a colleague with her. Then I have to have the meeting then advise her I will write to her to advise her of the outcome of the meeting then I have to hold another meeting with her to advise her of the outcome. I think the law is extremely unfair to employers. I am a very easy going employer, I employ 7 women in childcare I am very flexible with holidays, days of as they all have children. I listen to any concerns they have and resolve them very quickly keeping everyone happy. I hate confrontation and I worry a lot about things like this. I have been stressed all weekend so far in relation to this and cant sleep ie posting question on yahoo at 2am. How do I cope with the stress, I have pains in my chest and am struggling with breathing.

I know exactly what you are talking about, I had the same problems with a member of staff and had to go through all the procedures of writing letters and meetings. it s a lengthy process and takes time but you have to do it by rules ( employment law ) and it can be very frustrating but if you don t do it right they can take you to an employment tribunal and you will lose which will result in a fine and compensation. stick to the procedure as laid out in your disciplinary manual supplied by UK government. and you will be able to terminate their employment with no problems.as for the pains you are experiencing in your chest this can be caused by the all the stress you have to put up with in dealing with this problem and lack of sleep, you didn t mention your age but as with any chest pains go see your doctor and get it checked out.and i make you right the employer is penalised in every way it seems like there is a new law forced on employers every few months, well that s a labour government for you.I sympathise with you, it s hard enough running a business today without having to through all this hassle in your work place, good luck.

Where do you operate? In the US, you would not have to do this. If you are in the US you can:- fire her immediately the next time you think she is disrespectful (it s called employment at will).OR- you can tell her immediately, that future actions like that will result in termination. You don t need to wait for her to prepare and you don t need to allow her to bring a colleague.OR - or you can give her a written notice, that future actions like that will result in termination. You don t need to wait for her to prepare and you don t need to allow her to bring a colleague.

You are the boss! You need to be a bit tougher. It s lovely that you are so easy-going and good to your employees, but in any walk of life there are always those that will take advantage. Some employees will really appreciate your leniency and will give that little bit more because they appreciate it. Others will take advantage - when they do you need to act swiftly to stop it before it gets out of hand. There is no need to get upset about what has happened. You are the boss and there is no excuse for this woman being so rude to you. You have to abide by the employers code of conduct and do everything by the book, but do not feel bad about it. You are obviously very approachable as an employer so the woman should have spoken to you in private about any issues she has, and not been rude to you.

How to make money at home free without any scams legitimately? -

You can only obtain legitimate work from home positions from brick and mortar companies. You want to send your resume out to companies hiring for positions you are qualified for, but include in your resume that you have a home office and you wish to work remotely. Include how you have your home office set up and what equipment you already have in order for you to perform your job. These jobs are just going to advertised as jobs, they would not promote them as work at home because they would hear from too many unqualified people

There are a few ways. First, if you re a writer or can write, you can look up a few freelancer jobs, like oDesk.com or getafreelancer.com. A way to be sure to make money (albeit slowly, but legitimately) on ChaCha.com, which is a text answering service. They employ contract work to the people answering the texts, but only a few cents per question. Once you re used to the system, people can make between $2 to $7 an hour. A lot of people can make about $5 and hour. Supposedly, there are some who can make $9 an hour, but I have the suspicion they aren t going their jobs right, and would be penalized by ChaCha...anyways!I ve included a site that gives some ways to make money here: http://hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Make-MoneIt takes searching to find the ones that work for you, but when you find one, stick to it, and you ll be sure to make money. don t allow yourself to flitter between things - you won t make any money that way, and then you ll just get frustrated. Good luck!
