As a startup business in Graphic Design services, you can charge $35.00 - 45.00 per hour, if you re in Canada, after you ve been in business for 2 years or so, you could charge $50 -60. Be sure to put together a portfolio of your work to show potential clients, as you are so new in the field. Let your work speak for itself. You might need to stock different paper stocks by colour and wieght for proofs in hard copy. It depends on what the job is. I assume you already have the software you require. My recommendation would be about $5,000 to get you started. $2000 of that for supplies, depending how much stock (inventory) you will carry onsite, and the variety you need. You need to find wholesalers for your stock and supplies - don t buy retail. The remaining $3000 for 3 months of phone rent and power expense. I d recommend 6 months, but I don t know if your funds are up to that. there s this small shipping place that mainly ships out ups, rents uhaul trucks and po boxes. it s like 6 months of po box for 40 bucks and there are only 300 boxes so there can t be that much money coming from that. so does he make money from shipping and uahul? how does that work?
