How can one start and maintain a small money-lending business? -

What are the legal requirements? What are some sound advice advice for an absolute beginner in this business?

Sound advice for an absolute beginner? Try this: STAY OUT OF THE BUSINESS. If you do not know what you are doing, you will loose your shirt. If you really want to try this, work for somebody else who is in the business for a while. You need somebody to train you for this, best to be paid while you are learning. You might find you do not want to be in the business-best to learn that before you sink your money into the venture.

It depends on where you are. For an absolute beginner I d say start very small and go get educated from credible sources instead of asking people on here. You might want to start with some of the peer to peer lending networks. They handle all the details, you just pick which loans you want to fund and how much. Some of them offering webinars and additional training on lending. Email me if you want some links.

I think so, there will be company by Government or BY banking rules, where you can start this type of business..If you have mentioned in which country you are from...It would be more helpful to answer your question

How can I earn extra cash working from home? -

if internet is the answer doing what?what other things could generate money from home?

You need to send your resume out to real jobs you are qualified to do. In your cover letter you need to state that you wish to work remotely, from your home office. LOTS of companies, especially in CA operate this way. They usually provide transportation for you to come in for an interview and for you to attend company meetings a few times a year, but otherwise everything is done online.

What is the alternative to process mapping consultants? -

I need to understand and document all my departmental business processes. Currently, buying consulting time seems to be the only option. This is costly and takes time. Is there no do it yourself tool which can guide me in documenting policies and procedures?

Hi,I agree with Semitek s notes. It all depends on which processes you need to map. I found a few articles for free advise about how to document your operational processes but none really beat consulting time.Look at your relevant processes and buy a good book which details all their possible flows. Since no company is alike, I guess you would have to make up your own flow as you go along...Good luck!DD

Thanks DD but reading books would have taken me too long. Business Links mentioned a company called itscontrol and their manageityourself tool. I bought it out of desperation and was pleasantly surprised by its effectiveness. It helped me reach all company departments and manage process change. Report Abuse

Yes and no.Documenting procedures does take a little skill and if you have never done it before it can be daunting. As for hiring a consultant, well, follow these guidelines.First, documenting a procedure should not cost that much, make sure that the consultant is not charging you too much per hour. Anything over $50 per hour would be too much.Ask yourself, are you just documenting the procedure or are you also looking to streamline the procedure. This makes a big difference because a consult that has to document and streamline will charge you a lot more. What kind of documenting do you need? For example, are you documenting to create a company handbook for training new employees or just documenting to present to managers and to analyze what each employee is doing during their day. This makes a difference and the latter can be do more quickly and will not need all of the necessary formatting and structure that a company handbook would need. In short, it will reduce the amount of time needed to create the document. If you want to try to do it yourself you can. See if you can find a consultant that will be willing to give you guidance at an hourly rate instead of just doing it for you. This can greatly reduce the billable hours from a consultant as you can do the grunt work yourself. Finally, if you do hire a consultant make sure they clearly understand what you need and what you plan to do with the documented procedure. Also, make sure they understand your business! This helps when it comes to documenting your procedure, stay away from a consultant that thinks there is a cookie cutter way of documenting. Each company runs a little different, depending on what they do for business.***Additional Answer***Thanks for the additional details. It looks like your company is looking for some kind of CRM software such as Great Plaines or Crystal Reports. A lot of companies look for this type of software to upgrade their current software program do handle accounting, HR, sales and inventory. You have a good idea. Thinking about and documenting your processes to then hopefully fit it into a software program might work. For starters though there is no real software program that we know of that will document these types of procedures. We are recommending Microsoft Visio as a program that will help you create organizational charts for your company. The program will also help you create a process flow inside your departments. This will then help you understand what the potential software program you are shopping for can and can not do for you.Keep in mind that documenting such as you are is a good start but that also the software company may be able to custom tailor the software to fit your needs. If you don t want to spend the money on a consultant you can do this on your own. Just take is one step at a time. We always train clients that perform this duty to follow the process from start to finish and write it down as you go. For example, for departments that process orders we follow the paper trail of the order from start to finish and document it every step of the way. When done you will have a good start to having a procedure and an idea of what you are looking for when shopping for that new software program.

Where do you register a name for a new business? -

I m opening a new computer repair store and I need to know where to go to register the name and also availability of free names.I went to town hall and they had no idea where to go for that! For the state of Ohio, summit county

Depending on the type of business you are starting, there are categories a business falls into: trade, fictitious or corporate. If you want the name of your business to be protected so that others cannot use it, you will want to have either a trade name or corporate name. You should contact the Secretary of the State of Ohio to register a name. You may do this in writing and mail your request to the Office of the Secretary of State, 30 East Broad Street, 14th Floor, Columbus, OH 43266-0418 or telephone at (614) 466-3910. To check to see whether a name is being used in the State of Ohio at present, you may call a name availability line at (614) 466-0590. A trade name registration fee is $20 and reserves the name for five years. The registration of the name may be renewed at the end of each five-year term for a $10 fee.Register your business name under a fictitious name if you do not wish to register it as a trade name or corporate name and the name does not fully reveal the owners of the business. The law states that a business or corporation that uses a name other than the owner s personal last name or legal name must obtain a DBA business name certificate. Registering a business using a fictitious name does not guarantee that another business cannot use the same name. It merely functions as a way for the state to identify the business owner(s). Contact the Office of the Secretary of State to register a fictitious business name.Register the business name as a corporate name if you want your business name to be protected from use by others in the same manner as a trade name. If you choose to do this, understand that the name must end with or include Company, Co., Corporation, Corp., Incorporated or Inc. Ohio Law guarantees that you can keep the corporate name as long as the corporation remains in good standing with the state. To register a name, contact the Office of the Secretary of State, 30 East Broad Street, 14th Floor, Columbus, OH 43266-0418 or telephone at (614) 466-3910. There is also a name availability line that you may call to see if a name is currently being used in the State of Ohio. The name availability line is (614) 466-0590.Hope this information is helpful! Good luck with your business!

Register with your county clerks office or parish clerk office the fee is about 75.00 per year, then register with your state department of tax office they should give you a tax id number to pay state taxes then, register and get your EIN number from the IRS to pay federal taxes. Those should be all of the registrations of your business. Call the SCORE they can also give you direction regarding your new business. This is a company that helps small businesse, most states have this organization. They also have an 800 number.

if town hall doesn t know-that makes no sense - try the county courthouse next - if you plan on using a ficticious name for your business, that requires a legal posting in the newspaper, and you will also need a state sales tax license

Is MBA necessary to start my own business ? -

how much knowledge is sufficient to run a successful company ?

You can try a completely free home based online business.

It is not necessary to have MBA degree to start your own business. What needed is your birds-eye-view for any business, strong desire to start the business, market survey of the business what you are looking for, minimum good education background to know-how, of any rules and regulations of the business. You have not mentioned what type of business or company you want to do or run. But if you want to run any type of company, if you do not have any law background, then you should be able to employ at least the person who is well versed with all pros and cons of the company matter. It depends on you how much you have will-power and financial support. Go ahead if you have all these things.

To be successful in any business, you need not have MBA degree at all. Most the world famous business personalities were illeterate persons. But they were having other merits in them. It is the common sense, hard work, determination, best give take policy, best accommodative nature, best competitive skill, best foresight, best assessment of any given situation, that makes any man successful in his business, then he may not be having any educational certificate of merit in his briefcase. Most of the merit certificate holders all over the world are serving the business masters only, be it in Government or private sector, very few of them have been able to become master or owner of the business in which field they are working.

There are no age or educational requirements needed to start a business. The more knowledge and/or experience you have, the better. A good prelude to your business would be in the creation of a business plan. If you can make it successful on paper without fudging the numbers, you can make it in the real world. You ll get out of life, love, business and everything else what you put into it... so give it your all.

MBA is not necessary to start a venture.People have established huge business corporations without even finishing their school. So what really matters is the sense of business one has.If you have all that is required to make it big in this corporate world why on earth you need an MBA.But the other side of it is that you learn many things while doing a management course. It will enable you to plan and carry out the execution of things effectively. In fact it will help you in making plans. There is a lot of difference in a vague plan and an organized plan.MBA helps in time management which is very important. It helps in identifying, procuring and allocating the resources that is very important part of business management. The optimum utilization of resources, manpower and other important things are taught while you pursue an MBA.If you want to be an entrepreneur MBA definitely helps you with learning of the process of inception of a company. The various ways in which one can get his organization started. So if you have all these things readily in you, there s no need for an MBA.But then there s one more thing to it.With an MBA things can become more of sure and faster. But an MBA from any average institute is not going to make you capable enough of starting your own venture.Better do it from the Top b-schools or whether an MBA or not, its all the same. For more on entrepreneurship and executive related updates, visit: http://www.mbauniverse.com/

these are loaded question and cannot be answered without knowing your background and your reason of moving into business. had somebody in your family had a successfully running business that has stood the test of time, then i would have advised you to jump into it. but again even those family who are planning for there next generation to take over the business have advised their ward to do mba examples are anil ambani, venky group, GVR group, GMR group etc. MBA gives a world view of all the topics you should be aware of and also gives the largest best practices followed the world over.

Where can I shop for good telephones and accessories online? -

Hi - I think CircuitCity and TigerDirect have the best deals on electronics, including phones. TigerDirect also has refurbished items for even lower prices. I have never had any problems with refurbished items I have bought through them. They don t advertise phones in their menu, so use the search box.

If you really want an excellent telephone and service why not think of going digital, as you will realise most things have gone or are going digital TVs for instance, but the telecommunications industry is lagging behind.Provided you have a good broadband service and a router there is World leading service available in the UK, and I am not talking about Skype, which ties you to your computer.I got my phone at the end of last year and now that is all I use, my old analogue phone is purely for incoming calls, and the reason for this is my digital service allows me free calling to all UK land lines 24/7, very reduced charges to UK mobiles, free calling world wide to others on the network and a call charge of less than 6p to numbers in 48 other countries, no matter how long the call. Not only that, I actually have two phones and I went to Germany recently, took one phone with me and could call home from the hotel for nothing, previously I had to use my mobile which cost a fortune. The phones have other features as well, they are in fact also video phones, so when I called home from Germany I could see as well as talk to my wife. As they have a video screen they also can be used as a digital photo frame as well as things like video messaging etc. Finally they are not expensive. For more information go to the web site I have noted below.

There are numerous online stationery stores present today that offer the best deals on telephones and accessories. But, this online stationery store will slash costs off the same products found on the high street by up to 90%.

just try:http://www.ebsilk.comi have log in some times, and i think the price is good and the quality is reliable.hope it helped

Any search engine.
