Opening my own cosmetic business at home? -

hello,i am a makeup artist on the side and i have decided to have a small home business to sell makeup and skin care products. how do i get a hold of these products such as MAC to sell? i can do Mary Kay, but it doesnt sell he makeup i use on my customers and they would like to buy the ones i use on their face so they can do the same makeup style at home. any tips? thanks!

hi, sounds like a great business! good luck! i m not sure where you can buy the products from... i did want to ask you, what if at your home business you could not only makeover a woman s face, but her entire body? with ardyss international, you can be an independent distributor of a line of body reshaping garments that will drop a woman 2-3 sizes in minutes! the flagship product is the body magic which smoothes out love handles, gives and hourglass figure, and lifts the butt and breasts.you can get paid 10 different ways, and it s lucrative! attached the website for you and a youtube video. again, good luck!!! sounds fun!

How to return assorted canned goods without a receipt? -

I m kind of in a dilemma here. My friends and I decided to run our own canned food drive for the people in our community who need help around Thanksgiving time. Needless to say, we were given hundreds and hundreds of assorted canned goods. Lots of pumpkin pie mix, lots of cranberries, lots of canned hams, and so on. People actually thought we were a real charity group with the awesome professional looking banner one of my friends made. The problem is, we don t know the person to give all this food to. I m guessing that they wouldn t be able to eat all of this stuff in 3-4 years. Should we give it to an overweight poor person, being that the said food would be less likely to expire, or should we give it to a skinny person as it would appear they need it more. The other option is to simply return all the food we got to a few stores. The current consensus is that we will return it. I ve never returned anything without a receipt, what are the stores going to do when we go to return canned goods without a receipt?

Give it to your local food bank, for heaven s sake! There must be one in your town -- if you don t know where it is or who to contact, ask your priest or minister. Or call the Salvation Army in your town and ask them where you can deliver the food. You probably won t be able to return it to the store. Even if you could, what would you do then? Would you hunt down all the people who donated to you and give them back their money? Just do the right thing and make sure the food gets where it belongs -- to the hungry.

IF you can t find a food bank, most owns have one. Leave i at a church or social service office. Most groceries stores will only let you exchange the food, so you should give it to some oe that actually can use it, you ll really make a familysthanksgiving and chirstmas nice.

Yard Sale Question?? -

How should I set up these items. I have 3 big tables2 comfortersvarious sheetsCD sAlso how much would you charge for Hollister and Abercrombie tees??Anymore advice for a yard sale. Thanks! 10pts best answer

Put the CD s in a bucket on a table and lean the matress against a walll and put the sheets close t othe matress. The t s should be like $5-$10

We just had a big moving sale a month ago. The king size comforter sets were put on the end of the table, sheets were hung up on hangers and a small note attached with straight pins telling them the price and sizes. Keep the CD s lined up in shoe boxes very close to you as they can disappear (sad but true). On the tees, depending on condition and how quickly you want them to go, 3 or 4 dollars a piece, but then again, I can t see them. Don t get too crazy or they won t sell. People are usually looking for a bargain and where we live, there are a ton of sales every weekend. Keep any valuables close by, usually where you are sitting and taking the money. Have plenty of bags on hand and be flexible but don t give it away. Good luck and have fun. (we made $400 in three hours!)

Put the sheets in a box at the end of your tables, they will just make a mess of them no matter what you do. If you have something to hang the comforters over or from that d be good or just put them folded on the table. I d put the cd s in a small box on the table. Make sure you put out plenty of signs that can be read from the car, you won t be successful if you re not getting the people there! Used clothes are used clothes no matter WHERE they came from! You can start out at a couple bucks and lower your prices if they don t sell! Don t forget to put an ad on Craig s list, it s free! Good Luck! Oh and don t forget to have PLENTY of change ready when you open!

Yard sales are all about prep work..Make sure you get small white stick-on stickers and price everything.. People dont like asking - How much for this, how much for this, etc.. Price everything out before hand and be reasonable..Remember, people can go to GOODWILL anytime and get Abercrombie or Hollister T s for 5 or 6 dollars.. albeit cheap ones... So, you have to beat their price.. So, $2 or $3 or $4 dollars is about right.. You can try to price higher, but most people know prices.. You may be able to get more if they are good oneCD s I wouldnt even buy nowadays.. Everything is MP 3 and off the net.. CD s are about 2 bucks for popular.. Cassettes are a dime

What do you say when you call a store about an application you filled out? -

I filled out an application for mcdonalds 2 days ago and I figured I would call them in a few mins. problem is I am not sure what I should say to them. please help.

Don t call. Go in to the establishment and ask to speak to the manager or human resources head about the application you filled out. the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Remember to be curtious and understanding. Dont go in at the most obvious busy time of the day either. Good luck!

there s nothing wrong with waiting until they contact you and there s also nothing wrong with you waiting a few days and calling them. Personally i have no patience for people who say they will call and don t. So to get on with the rest of my life i would call them and if they sound like they don t to be bothered then you get the person s name whom you spoke with and get on with looking for another place that s hiring. Trust me if they needed you that much, you would have been interviewed that same day and knew whether you qualified or not. Good Luck!

First ask to speak to the manager...they would be the right person to talk to. Then, introduce yourself. For example, you could say, Hi. My name is John/Jane Doe. I filled out an application a few days ago and wanted to touch base with you. Did you receive it? Oh great, I m glad you did. I m really interested in the position and would like to join the McDonald s team. Would you consider me for any openings? If you like, I can come in and interview on X date...is that convenient for you? Remember, be yourself! Don t be afraid to talk about how hard you will work, why you want the job, and why they should hire you. Be positive and enthusiastic about the position!

Ak them if they d be interested in an interviewPeople who work at McDonalds are generally speaking not the sharpest tools (not calling you dumb) So initiating ur interview will expedite the proccess of knowing if in deed they are hiring now if thenews isn t what you want to hear ask if another store is hiring.best wishes

you say hi this is ----- i was in here a couple days ago and filled out a application and i wanted to see if the manager has had a chance to go over it. I am really interested in starting working here a.s.a.p Good Luck!!!

Don t bother. If they want you they ll call you.

How do i open a BYOB lounge? -

Interested in opening a BYOB lounge in Philadelphia PA... Do i still need a liquor license or any other license? if so what type? any resources ? Thank you!!

Yes, you need a local business license, state sales tax permit, and on premise consumption license

I am thinking of starting a restaurant in my home just for friends and family.? -

Are there laws, codes or regulations if you serve exclusively to family and friends? I would not be advertising or displaying any signs. I plan on charging $5 per person..with kids eating free. I have a lot of family and friends that work and would gladly pay to have someone cook for them.

You need a business licence and a business name. If you just do it without these things and Health Safety, or the Local Council or Police find out, you could end up with a hefty fine for running a business with out them. You could just do it for free and take a complimentary donation from guests .Health Safety require you to have a separate place for food handling away from the main eating area so a open planned kitchen dining area would not be suitable. You also require local planning permits and Health Safety permits and Food Handling Permits to proceed. You also require proper refrigeration and storage. You also need parking exemptions for visitors. Also, a liquor licence will be required.I ve seen many houses turned into hair salons and they do very well. Running a restaurant from home will require special setup and permits. You had best speak with your Local Council and Town Planing Department, if you proceed. Like I said previously, just invite guests for free, and put a note on the table, Donations Welcome

At those prices you re guaranteed to lose money really fast..Many states and cities have a myriad or rules for restaurants, including fire protection, parking, zoning, etc.
