How is the use of temporary employees different from employee leasing? what r advantages/disadvantages of each? -

If you have temporary employees, and then lay them off, they can go to the unemployment office and file claims for benefits. This will cause your unemployment tax rate to go sky high for the next 3 years and you will have to pay high unemployment taxes on any and all your other employees for the next 3 years. If you use a leasing company to get your employees, then lay them off, the leasing company gets stuck with the high tax rate instead of you. Also, any benefits that are given to employees have to be provided for by the leasing company. The whole difference is the tax rate for unemployment taxes. Either you have the high tax rate or the leasing Company has it. So, if you get your employees from the leasing company, you will have to pay more for them. Advantage of using a leasing company is the leasing company will have the high tax rate.Disadvantage of usng a leasing company is that you will pay more for your employees.

What type of business license should we apply for? -

At the beginning of 2010 my wife is starting her own at-home small business selling a relatively inexpensive handmade product. For now, the only people that will be involved in the business are the two of us. By my best estimation, we will probably gross somewhere between $500.00 and $750.00 over the first year. Also, all startup costs were paid for out of our own pocket. What type of business license would be most appropriate? We re thinking sole proprietorship because it seems the simplest, but from what I understand that won t protect our personal assets in the unlikely event of the business going bankrupt or being sued.I would really appreciate the opinion of those with personal experience with starting their own small business out of their home or someone that has experience from the legal side of it.Thanks.

well i own my own business but i registered as sole proprietorship, which is easisiest. Parternership since is both of you is also easy. If you are worried about having the pants sued off you or protecting your assetts then LLC or Limited Liability (Ltd.) is the way to go, but i think these would incur a bit of cost. to protect myself from certain problems i draft contracts so my clients would sign to offer some protection until i make enough money to go Ltd.But its up to you guys

Note: Please next time be specific about your questions. I can believe that you not selected my answers because not based in personal experience. I have a lot of experience at college dealing with license, next time I recommend to be more objective. Report Abuse

LLC is the way to go for small business.

You can use the links to learn more about the type of license you can get. The majority of small business used the LLC, I strong recommend based in experience of case in Puerto Rico. We use in class the case to study the license.Of course in you incurred in corp license this cost a little more at you don t need to open with debt your small home business, I think sole proprietorship s is one of the best way to go.*Sole proprietorshiphttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sole_propri-Limited liability company (LLC)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limited_lia- Limited liability limited partnership (LLLP)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limited_lia--Best of Luck !

How to figure out my overtime pay? -

I am paid on an hourly rate and a commission/ piecework rate. How do I figure out my overtime? Do I go by my hourly rate, or is by my commission?

commission is based on sales, not hours. Overtime would be calculated on your hourly rate, and any commissions from sales you made during those hours would be added after.

How do assets keep a business running? -

Give long descriptions and details, please. Thanks =)

Assets are what a business owns, so machinery, premises or raw materials. Without assets a business cannot meet demand as it cannot produce a product without machinery or raw materials. Without a ppremisesthere is no where for a business to produce a product either. Assets can also be sold when inflation decreases so a profit can be made.

Large non-depreciating assets such as land can also be used as collatoral for loans if they are owned. This gives a company access to additional cash or leverage if needed.

Legitimate data entry opportunities from home? -

I need some extra income and was wondering if anyone can help me out?I would like to do some data entry from home.Seems like there are a lot of scams out there.

You can only obtain legitimate work from home positions from brick and mortar companies. You want to send your resume out to companies hiring for positions you are qualified for, but include in your resume that you have a home office and you wish to work remotely. Include how you have your home office set up and what equipment you already have in order for you to perform your job. These jobs are just going to advertised as jobs, they would not promote them as work at home because they would hear from too many unqualified people.

100% of them are scams. Almost all data entry is done in countries in which $1/day is considered a good wage. You d do better bagging groceries for tips.

Here s some of the best ways to earn money online free and easy. well worth checking out. www.wedolikemoney.blogspot.com It s not data entry but it s very legit.

You can try a completely free home based online business.
