Organizing hardware in inventory? -

I am trying to organize thousands and thousands of different types of hardware. I am in the process of counting everything, but I have to figure out a way to organize it to better control inventory, we have tried organizing it by job #. Each different type of hardware has a part #, we have tried organizing it by part number. Hardware consists of screws, nuts, bolts, washers, brackets etc. you name it we got it. Can someone please throw out some ideas on a better way to organize it so we can control inventory better, I have been thinking about this for a while and cannot come up with a efficient way of organizing it that will actually work.

You can take a look at inFlow Inventory. It is a basic inventory system that has all the esstenials. They have a Free version that is free forever, but limits to 100 products and customers. The software itself is very easy to use and fast to install. Here is their website:http://www.inflowinventory.comHope this helps!

You may consider implementing a barcoding system. Checkout http://www.adcbarcodeconsulting.com for some more information..

How do I prove to Paypal that I received an empty box? -

How do I prove to Paypal that I received an empty box?I bought an item on ebay from a seller with 137 feedback and received an empty box!! So how exactly do I prove that to them?I have excellent feedback as well if it makes a difference.

What was the postage on the box? An empty box would be a lot lighter than a box filled with something, and therefore cost a lot less to mail. You can go to the site of whatever shipping company was used (usps, ups, fedex, etc.) and find what the actual cost of mailing a package containing whatever it should have contained and show the difference to prove the lack of contents by the cost of the postage applied. While as you say, this could be tampered with by filling a box with rocks or other worthless items to adjust the weight for postage, you claim you received an empty box. If the box were in fact empty, the postage would prove it.

EBAY Buyer unpaid item....what next ? -

I usually sell items on ebay BUT the first I ve had a potential unpaid buyer ..they bought the item on October 11th and have not gotten back to m me I Have contacted them to tell them please let me know if you still would like the item no response then sent out 2 invoice still nothing so should I wait until 7 day mark hit than report .

Hmmmm... You re probably better off using the x-day mark hit. Then if nothing happens report them and leave a feedback saying that you waited since October and they never replied

Report them to Ebay. I believe after a certain amount of time you can offer to the next person on re-list the item.

report them and leave negative feedback.

What is the best trade to learn at a time like this where job security is not guaranteed? -

with the situation of the country now..I don t think its safe to put all my hopes in education..while it is still very important, things are not the way there used to be where one was guaranteed a decent life after school..i was hoping somebody could advice me on a trade to go into on the side (like plumbing, carpentry) or something..it has to be something that is in reasonable demand right now..any advice would be useful..sorry if i sound ignorant in some areas above, I didn t really settle down to construct this..any help will be very useful..thanks

Tough call. I think you hit the right one though with plumbing. Carpenters and electricians depend too much building booms. Plumbers remain in demand because plumbing wears out. It is hard to predict the long term viability of any job. Right now health care is in demand and growing. A lot of people think that is a guaranteed job forever. It isn t. Health care is growing because of the baby boomers who are aging and needing more care. Once we (I m 58) all die off in 30 to 50 years there will be too many hospitals. nursing homes and health care workers. Computer careers were thought to be indestructible from about 1990 to 2000 but that was the combination of year 2000 reprogramming and building the internet. In the 60 s it was aerospace workers and in the 70 s it was petroleum engineers. This is just another recession, like all other recessions. It will end. Choose a career you like. It is just too hard to predict the future.

Any job working for the local council.

What is the difference between a hazzard and a risk? -

someone asked me and set me wondering...

A hazzard is the thing and the risk is what happensie. the hazzard is the boxes being piled too high, the risk is that they will fall on you. the hazzard is the hole in the ground the risk is that you will fall inWhen you do a risk assessment, you are calculating the probability that the hazzard will turn in to the risk. This risk of the boxes falling is highThe risk of you falling in the hole is low

A hazard is a dangerous situation which has the potential to cause harm. Risk is the probability that the hazard will actually cause that harm. Most people/organisations talk about risk assessment when they really mean hazard review .I know this stuff because I used to do proper risk assessments in the nuclear industry.

hazard: knowing the outcome is going to be bad or not in your favor, like for example smoking is hazardous to your health risk: taking a chance without knowing the final outcome, it could be in your favor or it couldn t be, but it is still a risk; for example using your last dollar to play the lottery is a risk it is all about the final outcome, hazard you are already aware but with risk it could go either wayhope this helps

A hazzard is a dangerous situation. Like a pot hole in the road is a hazzard. A risk is a dangerous situation that is knowingly assumed where a hazzard can exist even if nobody knows about it in advance.

A hazard has the element of risk or chance in it (you could or could not slip on the ice), but a risk may not be hazardous, e.g. to hit or not in blackjack game. Then, as many pointed out, a hazard has the element of danger.

well to me a hazard is something u need to worry abouta risk is something u are really to give upbut a hazard is something u have to give it mosty

a hazard is something you can avoid you can avoid a hazard by walking away.a risk is something you go to or choose to do. you cant choose a hazard yet you can avoid it!

It depends on how much you were drinking

So how do i take my jewelry business to the next level? -

So me and a couple of friends bought a bunch of jewelry from Thailand and have been selling it around here. It is all sterling silver jewelry with semi-precious stones like amethyst or topaz, much like a birthstone ring you would give to a 16 year old girl or something. So far we have done pretty well selling it to friends of friends and such but we really want to take it up a notch. Recently, we put up a display at a salon with price tags on them and a poster, but we only sold 2. We are selling in the 20-30 $ a piece range. We could go a tad cheaper but we are afraid that people will than think it is really cheap jewelry and it actually looks nice. But would it be wise to drop the prices a bit? Raise them? we also have sold some on craigslist. but yea, any help would e much appreciated!

Whew! It s hard to tell. Do you have pictures? My wife is selling fashion jewelry pieces we order from the Philippines and she gets around 38% markup. We started ordering last May 2009 and we are waiting for our 7th order this week. I remember my wife s first order was $386.00. I was extremely worried about the money we sent out that I felt so relieved when we got the first package after 6 days. The items were so beautiful and not even one of my wife s customers were dissatisfied. We live here in Wisconsin by the way.Maybe you can try selling other types of fashion jewelry since silver tend to darken and react when expose to oxygen. There s nothing to lose, only to gain. You can check out her website and see if your friends are interested. I am not sure if her advertisement on USnetads.com is still there but that s where my wife found her website. You can check it out and ask for photos and pricelist if you are interested.-Jane ad Allan Leaf
