What exactly is Macy s looking for? I have the personality and looks to perform as a sale associate and experience. I am serious about getting this position. I need it. Having worked in NYC myself for 10 years, and having come in from out of state...what I learned was that NY companies would prefer to hire people with New York experience.You may think to yourself...that is pretty arrogant of them....Let me set the record straight.....They are completely justified in that requisite...the reason is that many people go to NY and try to make it and they just don t have what it takes.NYC is a whole different level of playing field....You have to be top notch or you won t make it. If you are lucky enough to get in somewhere...you will either adapt quickly or you ll fail and probably have to move away. it is a tough city...but if you make it....the education you ll get being in that environment will give you a trmendous advantage if you ever move back to your hometown.Its just like that NY song says If I can make it here, I can make it anywhere ...that is absolutely dead on.Keep trying and good luck.

I would highly recommend posting a local ad on craigslist.com to promote your babysitting business. Thousands of people are on that site everyday looking for babysitters and other opportunities as well. Post your flyers anywhere that has a community board (laundry mat, grocery store, library, restaurants) Market yourself and also ask your friends if they know of anyone who needs a baby sitter. Word of mouth brings in business especially if someone speaks highly of you :)

Her Craigslist suggestion is also a good one.In addition to those approaches and word of mouth, I d suggest you also check out places where parents with young children gather. For example, some churches provide babysitting during their services. This would be a great way to promote your service and make a few dollars to start. In addition, your potential clients will get to know you and think of you when they need a babysitter outside of church.Another example is resorts. We live in a vacation area and some resorts here offer babysitting services to their guests. Our daughter worked at one of the resorts as a waitress and did babysitting between her waitressing shifts. Kristen, Be expensive that way you ll get work that pays well,if you are cheap you will get lot s of work and you ll make no money,so my advice to you is to be expensive and let it be known that you are expensive,do not sell your services cheap be the best at what you do.

What I mean is can they create agreements that their works cannot be resold, for example an oil paintings artist. Could he create an agreement restricting resale until after his death to allow him to control pricing while he is alive?

The transfer of ownership from one person to another an original work of art can not be restricted. The artist can and does own the copyright of all the works of art they create unless they waive it. So while a person can resell a work of art or enjoy it themselves they can not use it for any other purpose. BUT I suppose that if someone was willing to agree to such a silly thing in writing when spending money, they deserve to stuck with it.
