I want to make organic make-up and sell it..? -

Do I need a Business license to do this? I want to make it myself and sell it..

you need all SORTS of things to do this aside from just a license ... first of all we don t know what country you re in, so we don t know which laws apply to you, but.. if you re in the states, you will need to have all sorts of permits, safety measures in your laboratory , pay fees to the government, have it approved as safe for human consumption and all sorts of stuff.. If you re going to put something on a person s body, you need to pay a lot of money to have the products verified as safe to use. you can t just start mixing stuff up in your bathroom sink, throw it in bottles and put it on the shelf at the grocery store. I know that is a fact, but... i don t know where to begin. i think realistically you could probably get away with doing it for a little while, but you ll need to make enough money quickly to be able to afford to pay the stuff when they catch you. that s not the best way to do business. it s better to do the research first and take care of the things before they come to YOU. let s say you have all of that in place.... the next thing you need to do is set up a limited liability company, then learn the specific differences between that and a sole proprietorship. then you need to put those things into action so you have true limited liability -which helps you in case your business fails or if you get sued. honestly a corporation is probably the BEST way to go but it costs more than you ll be making at first so not worth it immediately. once you have the LLC, you need to set up a bank account.. you need an accountant to help you handle your money. you may say i m good with money but... unless you know what a form K does then you need an accountant. one that will help with your business taxes, figure out gains and losses, business expenses vs personal, etc etc etc etc.. as far as the product yourself, you ll need to figure out how to get the supplies as cheaply as possible and how to turn a profit on them. you will need an advertising campaign (several) in order to get the word out there for your products. you will need to pay people to make the products and put them in containers and get ready for sale.. all said and done, you re looking at spending i m going to guess 15k per month between hiring 2 minimum wage employees, paying yourself, having an office, paying taxes, and all of the other crap that you have to do.... there are about a hundred things i m not listing here that you will need to pay monthly. long story short, it may COST you $7 to make 1 piece of product..... it may cost you 10... how much can you sell it for at WHOLESALE? if you sell to a retailer, they may SELL that product for $10 which means you re taking a loss by selling it to them for 5.... you re losing 50% at that rate... what i m saying i guess is... if you want to do this the right way and actually make a viable business out of it, you re going to need a LOT of start up capital, and a LOT of knowledge... you can start small, like maybe with a few thousand dollars and work from home for a while, but eventually you ll need to spend money to make money... i m mostly worried about all the crap you ll have to go through to legally sell makeup to the public though. and like i said, i don t know where to start. there are a lot of other aspects to this that i haven t gotten into, but this is a lot of info to start with.. good luck

yes, you need to start a full company with all business licensing and more, and there are strict regulations with cosmetics. visit www.cpsc.gov on all the government regulations that are required for cosmetics, including ingredient limits, testing, certification and more. it is not easy, but it is possible.

Are community and home associations a cash cow? -

The problem with HOAs is the same problem as the political arena. The people who gravitate to the boards are the very people who should never be in charge of anything. It is the most power they have ever had and it goes straight to their ego.

I don t think so. I live in a neighbourhood with a home owner s association, and I don t mind them. They keep the neighbourhood in order, they ensure that all houses continue to meet the agreed upon requirements. In our community you are not allowed to park on the grass anywhere, you are not allowed to have a fence in your front yard, etc. They are simple rules that keep our community looking nice.

They sure can be, however, in my HOA I feel it is very fair. it is $34.00 each month and it assures that the lazy boneheads will cut the palm trees so you can walk on the sidewalks with out getting slapped in the face by a palm tree that is not trimmed and that all the lawns are groomed. I also appreciate the fact that they sweep the streets once a month and that the local law enforcement is not the main law they work in partnership with the owners of the people in the HOA that means our community, so if we are having a problem with with theft, they with the help of the people in our area work together as a team to watch for the thief and the police are not slow to come when we call. They are awesome to us as is the local cable company. I love our small town and the deals our HOA has worked out. There are other HOA s in the area that are not so community friendly and active like we are.

Yes. I would never live where I was forced to do anything. NO ONE tells me how to live or what I can and can t do to/with my property. It is absolutely ridiculous that an organization would take a member to court because they put up a flag in the front yard and the pole was against the HOA s rules .

They are legalized extortion and i would never live in a place that had one.

Yes.

Do I need a small business lisence to fix computers in my home for a fee? -

I wasn t sure whether to try to find a legal section or put it here, but the topic is business. So here goes.I m 16 and am very experienced with computers. I m currently in my first year at college and am very confident in my ability. I ve made a few house calls setting up networks and fixing computers packed with viruses. I d like to put an ad in the paper and make a little money with it. (Foodservice jobs suck! XD)Do I need a small business license or something? I didn t even think of it until I realized that I could make quite a bit of profit (for a teenager) and that I ll probably have to file taxes or something of the sort. The bottom line: Do I need a small business license? Keep in mind I m only 16, so I m still a minor. I don t know if that makes a difference.

yes you do...but for a donation hell no.Example....Scenario 1 (With License). I will charge you 50 for a hard drive installScenario 2 (No license). Give me a 50dl donation for installing the hard drive..

As long as your earnings are below the thresh-hold you don t. You have to check your state laws for the limit.

for tax purposes you will want to file for a LLC

if you re going to do something that you enjoy and may lead to starting, building and owning a successful computer repair business then do it right from the start...1.Create your company name.2.Register your name.3.Form your business structure; Sole Proprietorship.4.Obtain your business/occupational license (if needed by your county).5.Obtain your resellers license (sales tax license) which most states allow at age 16...if not then have one of your parents get their tax id, sales tax license and you make it look like you work for them...6.Get signed up with the distributors in order to have access to hardware and software at wholesale.-you need a website...every business needs a website...7.Choose your domain name.8.Register your domain name9.Choose a webhost provider and a hosting plan.10.Choose your web development software.11.Start building your website.12.Set up your merchant account or paypal account or have your parents set it up for you.13.Complete your website.14.Promote, market and advertise your website and services locally and online as well to establish a presence.. many people use google more than they use their yellowpages.15.Then wait for the order to start rollin in.Of course it s not that simple but it can be if you just take it one step at a time. Write a simple step-by-step business plan just as you see here. Then follow each step and then scratch it off of your list as you complete it. Before you know it you ll be needing to hire more help. Hope this helps...

Is it better to get a patent or a copy right? -

Enter more detail here (Optional)

Patents are for devices/designs, processes, physical items. Copyright is for written things such as music, literary, or technical copy or images.

It really does depend on what you want to protect!A copyright protects original work such as books, music, movies, plays and website/program code. They last for the lifetime of the author and then up to about 75 years after their death.A patent protects original processes and technologies used inside of a product. They last for up to 20 years and I don t think they can be renewed, so whatever the patent was covering will just enter the public domain and anyone can use your technology.

If you ve invented something, you need a patent. If you ve got text or images that you re publishing, you have a copyright on them.Patents and copyrights are two different things. They re used for two different purposes. One isn t better than the other.

A patent is for a process or an item. A copyright is for intellectual property like music or books.

if you get a patent usually you still get the cpyrightif your endorsing a name brand you created

patent because then you have the item trademarked

depends what its for ??

How do I sell my collection of paperback books quickly on ebay in 24hrs? -

Are there any tips on ebay to sell quickly like in 24 hrs?1. I lowered the price by $502. I offered free shipping with UPSWhat should I do now? Should I continue lowering the price? or just wait?

Paperback books do not retain their value at all - you d be best first investigation how much they are really worth by looking up those titles in paperback online (eBay or abebooks) or checking out your local used book store. The vast majority of paperback novels sell for on average just 50 cents, and non-fiction trade around the $2-7 range depending on the subject, rarity, and condition of the books. That of course assumes they aren t signed by the author or anything. All you can do is wait and see, but I worry that since you ve dropped the price by $50 you my have priced them for a lot more than they re actually worth or will sell for.

if they aren t books one person is going to want, there is nothing you can do - even if it sells in 24 hrs doesn t mean you will have the cash in your hand in 24 hrs - it may take a day or two for the buyer to pay thru Paypal and if you want that cash in your bank acct - that s another 2-3 day wait - you may never sell that lot of books - a very low percentage of all ebay auctions actually get a buyer

1.) Promote your item on free sites (that pertain to books, maybe even a chat room about your book series.) 2.) When you sell your item you can list the duration you want to sell it for (if you ve already posted your item go to - revise item - under online auction there s a pull down menu under duration choose - 1 day). Then add a line to subject to get buys motivated - Sale ends in 24 hours! In your description add something like Great gift, buy now to get before the holidays 3.) Always remember to be descriptive as possible and use key words that people may search, this will make your listing come up in more searches. 4) Then wait, most people bid within the last hour (a lot of people use bidding software that bids on their behalf at the last second.)Good luck and happy holidays!

Free Shipping is good. Add the Buy it Now feature so they can quickly finish the transaction and you can get paid.

I need to earn money real quick from home what company is better then the other one ? -

You can only obtain legitimate work from home positions from brick and mortar companies. You want to send your resume out to companies hiring for positions you are qualified for, but include in your resume that you have a home office and you wish to work remotely. Include how you have your home office set up and what equipment you already have in order for you to perform your job. These jobs are just going to advertised as jobs, they would not promote them as work at home because they would hear from too many unqualified people,

No one better than an other. They are here to make money and exploit you. Do like me, buy and resell on the net. I have been doing that for the past 7 years and never had to look for a job since. Personally I buy in China and resell where I live at a much higher price

Hi thereCheck freelance sites online as getafreelance.com, elance.com, guru.com. Make a list of knowledges/skills you have and that you could offer services based on. Create an account at every site and start bidding for projects there.Remember that in order to earn anything in this world you have to offer value. That s what you can do with your skills.Hope it helpsEstani Chapel

EBay Delivery Help: Delivering To A Country You Dont Live In? -

I live in England so that means my address on my ebay account is an address in the UK but I want to buy something off eBay and get it delivered to the USA, is this possible? And if so, please could you tell me how. I d really really appreciate it (:Thanks so much 3

Yes, that is possible. Just use the Contact Seller feature of the listing, and then arrange the shipping any way you like through them.

most sellers will not deliver to anything but the verified account address if you are paying with Paypal within the ebay world; sellers are not protected against fraud otherwise.however.. some also operate outside ebay and will otherwise accept visa or m/c.you ll have to contact the seller before bidding and ask.
