Can i be made to work my lunch breaks if the office is busy? -

lunch break times are not flexable. I am working in a uk call centre

No - You are entitled to a lunch break BY LAW in any 8-hour shift. You are also entitled to a short break in any 4-hour shift. This can not be stopped. If it is, they are breaking the law and can be prosecuted, or at the very least, taken to an Industrial Tribunal.

In the U.S. you can t be forced to work your lunch break. If you work X amount of hours a day you are due those breaks by law. However, if you are asked to work your lunch break, and you do, you are entitled to overtime pay.

In the UK you are entitled to a 1/2 hour break every 6 hours worked. It is down to the individuals contract whether they are paid for it or not.

If you dont eat anyway why moan!
