I think you will need a large capital outlay for this business. you will need to pass your PCV this is like an extensive driving test and quite difficult. then you will have to purchase a vehicle or hire one then you will be paying for expenses before you even get a single customer. Add in advertising and finance charges i think you could burn 20,000 before you are taking anything and even then the payback for your investment is spread over five years at least. I think you would be better working for someone for a few years in the industry first, get some inside knowledge and youre license and then ask the banks to support you in your venture.sorry to sound so negative but i wouldnt look at a business like this as your first venture. take the skills that you have alredy and work with them.
As well as your PSV licence, you may need an Operator s licence and possibly another if you re running a fleet - can t remember what it s called.Approach your local Business Link and go on one of their free seminars on starting in business. It will help you get your thoughts clearer. They also have information on specific businesses and sources of funding.Potential funders require a solid business plan, which Business Link can help with, and they also expect you to put up at least 50% of the capital required.Gaining experience working for someone else is good advice. That way you can see what type of work is most lucrative.Good luck!
