I worked my way through school as a cabby - I like the idea. My suggestion would be to contact the chamber of commerce - they generally have a business development counselor that offers free assistance. If you want a faster service than pick a small business development consulting firm to do the research - shouldn t cost more that $700 to have a step-by-step playbook drawn up

Starting a livery/car/taxi service? -
My mother is looking to start a taxi service here in New York. She s not going to be driving, she ll hire someone to work at the base, where the calls come in and have the person route the calls to different licensed livery drivers. The drivers will pay a weekly fee to gain access to calls. There are a bunch of these services in NY, but she needs to know what requirements need to be met, what licenses are necessary etc. She already has a business license for a beauty salon she s in the process of opening and the capital to invest etc., and 24+ people she knows she can hire right off the bat. Thanks for any input/insight/advice!
