Is there such thing as legitimate work-at-home jobs? What are they? -

For various reasons, I need to work at home. Please advise. =) I am skilled at many things such as art and graphics. No ads or spam nor irrelevant answers.I don t want false advertising that advertises fake jobs. Hate those.

You can only obtain legitimate work from home positions from brick and mortar companies. You want to send your resume out to companies hiring for positions you are qualified for, but include in your resume that you have a home office and you wish to work remotely. Include how you have your home office set up and what equipment you already have in order for you to perform your job. These jobs are just going to advertised as jobs, they would not promote them as work at home because they would hear from too many unqualified people.

Your choices are to telecommute for your current employer or start your own business. There are no jobs paying salary or wages where you work at home unless your current employer and the type of work you do allow for telecommuting, at least part-time home part-time office. There are tens of thousands of graphic designers and artists who work from home. They own their own business (typically sole proprietorship). They do their own marketing publicity to solicit clients. You need the educational credentials in graphic design, experience (e.g. working for ad agency, graphics company, webhosting/web design company, etc), superior references from clients, preferably have won a number of industry awards, and, of course, your portfolio. You need to be aware that so many ad agencies, et al, have laid off so many thousands of graphic designers, creative directors and other advertising, art, design, graphics professionals, that the competition is extreme for such freelance/self-employed work. Can you compete with the best from NYC big name pros? Are you that good? If not, you are going to spend a great deal of money setting up and marketing your service business to no avail whatsoever.Anybody who tells you there are work-at-home jobs is scamming you. You absolutely must invest your own time, money, talent, education, expertise, marketing skills, and a lot more to start any kind of business, including a home-based business.

Alas, much of what the other people have said, most of the Work at home businesses or operations are scams or pyramid schemes. One place I ve found that does actually pay for contribution is: http://associatedcontent.comThe site pays for submissions relating to thousands of topics and you re free to write about anything. After an article, or video, or whatever you submit is reviewed you are paid an initial amount, and then you are paid even more for the amount of traffic or readers that come across your article.
