There Companies which evaluate the commercial potential or patents and if it looks good the fund it , you will sign a contract where they get a percentage, Same with lawyers,Its best if you get a patent lawyer before going to companies, cause many are not trustworthy, or exploitative.

What to do if you have a patent but no money to produce your product? -
I am asking this for a buddy, he has tons of ideas and has a few patent pendings but doesn t have money to produce his products. I m sick of hearing about his ideas but never seeing him do anything with them. Can you take your patent to companies and try to sell them the patent or do they want to see a working prototype which he does not have money to get done since molds and things cost thousands of dollars?Any advice to give him?
