It depends on the item. If its books or media - ship it media mail because ebay only allows you to ask for 4.00 shipping. If they are heavy objects use flat rate boxes from the post office. There are 3 sizes of boxes you can get for free at the post office. That s the way I normally ship. Other than that I use parcel post. Get yourself a scale. If you can t afford one, weigh yourself on your own scale and then step off, pick up the package and step back on. The difference is the weight of your package. Gives you a rough idea. Then go to the postal rates on the computer and see what it will cost. Add a little for handling and you have it. If you can t do this, package the item up and take it to the post office, tell them to check the rate to the farthest zip code from your home. This also gives you a rough estimate. You can also look up the item your selling to see if someone else is selling the same thing and check what they are charging for shipping.By the way they have a shipping calculator with ebay also. But my items are usually heavy so I flat rate them. It s a lot easier. You can also call ebay, they will give you all the help you need. They also have a live chat line right on the site.
There are different ways and methods you can go with! Fedex and DHL can get very expensive. There are a bunch of parcel forwarding services available as well. One such co that I like to use are called Shipito. You can go on their website and they have a shipping calculator, you can put the weight of the parcel and what country you would be sending it to and boom they calculate a rate for you. They are one of few comapnies that use USPS which is the cheapest to deal with! hope this help.
