Why do shops have those odd number pricing? -

Like grocery stores and such I always see them priced with .99cents .95cents .93cents etc.. Why are they priced like that? Wouldn t it be better if its priced like lets say $7 dollars instead of $6.95? I would probably throw the 5 cents away afterwards/

It s all about promotion. It makes you believe that the product is cheaper... 6.95 registers in the brain as 6 whereas 7, 7.Its all mind games :)

they are just trying to make it look cheaper for the consumer. for example, if you see some thing that is 699.99$ you are more to consider it taht if it is 700$
