Questions for a small business owner.? -

This is for my school assignment in college so as much detail as possible is appreciated. What is your name (first name is fine) and job title (if any)? What type of entity did you choose (sole proprietorship, partnership, etc.)? Why did you choose it rather than the others? How did you develope your business? What were the highpoints and low points? What does your business specialize in? (or details of your business on what it is)Did you use any sort of advertisements? How did you advertise your business? If you have employees, how do you motivate them to work hard? I look forward to reading your answers!

Electrician Bookkeeper turned business owners. Never stole a client from the ex employer but filled a niche on our own by advertising in the newspaper for 24 hour emergency service (established companies didn t want to do that). Worked a full time job elsewhere to make ends meet. Worked out ot the garage for 2 years as a sole prop - then incorporated for liability reasons and moved to a commercial location. Stopped the newspaper ads and just went with a phone book listing - nothing fancy as we depended on our good reputation. New construction was booming for years (that ended abruptly 2 years ago) just as we had gone to 90% commercial. Employees are motivated by pay and our sincere appreciation

If I told you what you want to know, you would become my Competitor! So, my suggestion is that you Contact your Local SBA ( Small Business Administration) for your Answers.
