Do i need a license to have a home catering business? -

Ok so here is my idea!!! I want to open a cuban bakery with food take out. Those of you who being in one, u know they sell, croquets, empanadas, pastelitos, sandwitches, and food items, such as, rice, beans, ropa vieja, chicken, steaks, carne con papa..... ok right now i cant open the bakery, but i thought a good way to start from home, is by making those selective items from home, then going to business and giving them a sample, and seing how the consumers react to it n if they would like to order i would live by business card with a menu. Now do i need a license? and if i do, how long can i do it for before they tell me anything? Please help in this, and i would like some opinions about my idea!!!

Yes, any food service business needs to conform to city/county/state health regulations, plus you need a business license
