I am a power seller on Ebay and I highly recommend finding yourself a reliable drop-shipping company and I ll tell you why. If you buy in bulk you may get a good price on the items, but unless they are local you will end up having shipping costs to get them to you which in turn just raises the actual cost of each product making it difficult to resale for a profit. Finding a good drop-shipping company is difficult and sometimes requires some trial and error which can lead to negative feedback so go with one of the big boys. You will find that pushing a little paperwork and spending a little time is a lot better than warehousing inventory, trying to find the right size box, packing correctly, and running to ups just isn t worth the time or money you will make. Drop-Ship!!!!
I prefer to buy bulk and sell items off individually. Drop-shipping, to me, causes too much of a headache, if you don t pick a reliable, honest company. Finding one can be hard, as was stated in another response. With drop shipping, you have NO control over what THEY do. Companies have been known to send wrong items, switch delivery methods, send faulty items, etc. YOU as the seller, will have to handle all of these problems and YOUR feedback is put at risk. For some PowerSellers, feedback has little importance because a couple bad experiences will NOT affect their score, however, if you are just starting out or do not have a lot of business, you may run into some problems. Of course, problems arise when buying in bulk as well. YOU must do ALL the labor AND once in awhile you WILL get severly flawed items. I like to be in control of my inventory and know what I am selling and that it IS getting to the correct person in a timely fashion, therefore, buying in bulk makes more sense for me. It s a matter of what you WANT and are willing to do. Good Luck!
Buy BULK! Find some liquidations and break them up and sell them. Do not use dropshipping! The profit margins are just too low.You can buy from a site like liquidation.com and resell on eBay. You can even buy from local clearance and closeout sales. To find out more on why not to use dropshipping see my sources.Good luck but, yes, steer away from dropshipping. It is not a winning proposition on eBay.
