It has been applied to unpaid rent, and they may be coming after you for the rest unless they got another tenant or you had an early termination agreement with the landlord.If you were on a month-to-month lease, the deposit would have been used to repair any damages that were other than normal wear and tear. If they are not returning your deposit, you need to ask them for an accounting of what they spent and had fixed. If anything was due to normal wear and tear, they should not be allowed to deduct for that.If after all this you feel you are still owed money and they are refusing to pay, you can take them to small claims court.
